The appointed day finally arrived.
Elena and Jin Di were heading to The Zhang ancestral residence for dinner.
Their first visit as a couple.
They rode in a spacious three-row luxury SUV. Jin Di's two subordinates sat in front, one driving, the other in the passenger seat. Elena and Jin Di occupied the middle row.
There was a small but unforgivable gap between their seats.
Jin Di disliked it intensely.
He wanted her close. Close enough to feel her warmth without reaching. Unfortunately, this was the most appropriate arrangement because the back row was occupied by Simon, Little Fei, and Song Yuqing.
When Zhang Fu learned that Elena would formally introduce her boyfriend during dinner, he immediately called her.
"I want to bring my son too," he said stiffly. "I need to introduce him to Father."
Elena laughed. "So you're piggybacking on my introduction to reduce the pressure when you introduce Little Fei. How cowardly."
