Jin Di followed her silently, like an abandoned puppy. Together, they searched the room. He was the one who eventually found the wallet tucked beneath one of the couches.
Elena immediately informed her instructor. Professor Schwarz thanked her and said she'd retrieve it the next day.
Call ended.
"Done, baby?" Jin Di asked, already stepping closer.
She nodded.
His eyes lit up as he moved toward her, but Elena suddenly lifted a finger. "Wait. I almost forgot. I wanted to tell you this earlier, but you distracted me."
He raised an eyebrow, wisely choosing not to argue.
"What is it?" he asked.
"Earlier today, I met with the director and producer about the film score," she said. "They mentioned they've accepted funding from a new production company."
He stayed quiet, watching her closely.
"The company is called DX Productions," Elena added.
The room went still.
"Don't be angry," he murmured again, his hold tightening slightly, as if afraid she might slip away.
