Cherreads

Chapter 50 - Ch. 50 - Welcome to Disneyland!

As the afternoon arrived and the plaza grew more crowded with many parents and their children, it was finally time to act.

They walked towards the middle, quickly gathering attention as familiar looks followed them as if they recognized their faces.

Curious murmurs and whispers echoed around them as they stopped at what they were doing to stare.

"Look! Isn't that Princess Elsa? She's the only one who has white hair isn't she?"

"And that man, does he look like the Magician Henry who stopped doing his magic show a few weeks back?"

"What are they doing here? To perform magic?"

"Maybe?"

'Well, they're not exactly wrong.' Henry whispered to himself when he heard the content of their hushed voices.

On the other hand, Elsa was waving her hand at the kids who were greeting her.

"Princess Elsa has graced us of our presence!" No one knows who shouted, but soon after, most citizens gathered around them, some praising Elsa for deeds she doesn't remember ever doing.

Of course, the planned rumors were also addressed by some, "Princess Elsa! Is it really true that you rescued slaves from pirates using your powers?"

"Princess Elsa! You saved my sister! It was my sister!"

"Princess Elsa please notice me!"

Henry leaned towards Elsa and whispered, "You're too famous for your own good…"

Elsa rolled her eyes at him and pointed at a certain crowd, "You're not bad yourself."

Turning his neck, Elsa was right, Henry saw a bunch of people staring at him in the same fervor as the ones who were on Elsa. Their eyes were bloodshot and beads of sweat were starting to form on their foreheads as they tried their best to get his attention.

"Magician Henry! Over here please!"

"Please notice me too!"

"Magician Henry!"

Without any choice, Henry sighed and waved his hand at them, and then watched them scream on the top of their lungs.

'Sigh, is this what celebrities feel like every day?'

If so, then no wonder so many of them hate paparazzi so much. Just the hundreds of people like this, even without the flashes and such are already starting to annoy Henry.

Even back in Lioncrest, he never experienced this kind of attention.

"Let's start while the heat is on us," Henry whispered to Elsa's ears and her face turned serious as she nodded her head.

Thankfully, it seems like they don't need to do much, because as soon as they arrived near the fountain, the people had already parted and cleared the area, as if it's in their instinct to walk away as they expect Henry to perform magic performances for them.

They're not wrong.

'That was easy.' Henry commented.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention please!" Henry's voice reverberated across the entire plaza, silencing the noise.

Henry cleared his throat, "What you're about to witness today, will not only be scribed into the annals of history but will shape everyone's happiness!"

Before the confusion among the people could settle in, Henry turned his head back to Elsa and gave her a nod. Elsa responded in kind and took a deep breath.

Raising her dress, she stomped her feet on the ground, immediately forming a large icy blue snow-pattern that kept producing more branches until it was large enough to cover the entire plaza.

"W-What is this sorcery!"

"Is the Princess going to hurt us?"

"Hurt us? Don't be an idiot! She's our soon-to-be Queen! She won't hurt us!"

The reactions among the crowd were mixed, some wore a face of disbelief while others surprisingly turned into worship.

Meanwhile, the cement ground has fully turned into an icy blue color with a single large snow pattern that encompassed everywhere. Elsa took another deep breath and raised both of her hands.

Countless constructs suddenly emerged from the blue ground. Normally, Elsa can only create constructs directly from her hands and ice blasts but since she planted the snow pattern on the ground that serves as her connection with the surroundings, she can now produce ice anywhere she wants as long as it's within the snow-patterned ground.

The first construct that was completed was the famous Carousel ride. A ride that consists of several stationary horses that rotate indefinitely.

When it first showed, there were various gasps and curious glances at it, "Is that a horse made of ice? So the rumors are true! Princess Elsa truly has ice powers!"

"This is sorcery! Blasph—!?"

"Shut it, old man! You're ruining the moment!"

Ignoring the varied reactions, Henry went ahead and planted his palm on the Horse Carousel ride and slapped a Flame Rune that suddenly halted it from emitting a howling cold wind.

Just in time as he did that, another ice structure was formed. It took the form of a ship attached to a triangle-shaped structure. It kept going back and forth but only forward and backward.

The Pirate Ship ride.

Henry did the same thing as from earlier and slapped a Flame Rune. Another structure was formed and it was the Flying Chair. Another Flame Rune.

Then one corner of the plaza was surrounded by a short ice fence where several bumper cars were lined up vertically next to each other.

Next is the Ferris Wheel. A 50 ft tall Ferris Wheel made of ice and rotates very slowly. Its huge appearance took everyone by surprise. Although they're all confused as to what these structures are but from the looks of it, they seemed joyful.

Finally, saving the best for last was the iconic Roller Coaster. However, unlike the extremely dangerous ones from his previous world, this one is a bit mild. The purpose of this is to spread fun not trauma.

Maybe someday in the future, Henry himself will personally introduce the extreme Roller Coaster rides that will mentally rip the soul out of your body.

Now that all the rides were done, all that's left is the introduction and entrance structure with its title.

"Everyone…" Henry walked in the middle, hands behind his back as he scanned the onlookers. With a smirk, he spread his arms wide and continued, "Welcome to Disneyland."

His announcement was just in time as the gates were established along with their name, a big word consisting of 'DISNEYLAND' along with a logo of Ice and Fire coalesced that complements each other, standing behind the logo.

"Disneyland?"

"What's a Disney?"

Henry crossed his arms but instead of answering their questions, he turned to look at Elsa first and saw that aside from breathing heavier than before, she was fine.

But just in case, he still asked while approaching her, "Are you okay, Elsa?"

She simply smiled and nodded her head. Though inside her chest, she felt an extreme warmth that made her want to pull Henry and kiss him now and here.

He turned his attention back to the crowd who were now slowly entering the amusement park, their heads snapping left and right as they took in their surroundings.

"Mama! What is that!"

"Look! Over there! It's moving! How?"

"Is this the power of magic?"

Now that everyone doesn't look like they're panicking or anything like that, it's time to proceed to the plan of teaching them what an amusement park is and how to use all these rides.

Thankfully, there's no need to hire people for things like this. Elsa made every single ice structure aware of their surroundings and possesses enough intelligence to manage the entire park by themselves.

Henry would serve as the guide of course. He's the only one who knows how all the rides are used. Elsa has already done her part and it's time for Henry to shine.

"Follow me, everyone. No pushing, please." With his left hand behind his back, Henry used his other to gesture for the horse carousel and continued, "This is called a Horse Carousel. You see those horses? Children who aspire to ride their own horses someday can try this if their parents don't want to get them harmed."

At first, his introduction met with silence. Some were hesitant to approach the strange contraption while the others were eager but waiting to see if someone would go first.

Thankfully, it didn't last long before a child ran from his parents' embrace and stepped into the carousel, which instantly brought the carousel to a halt.

"Jerry! Get back here!" His mother called out in worry.

Not wanting to ruin this perfect moment, Henry assured her, "Don't worry, missus. Everything here is completely safe for everyone. You have your Princess Elsa to thank for that." Of course, he's not gonna forget the original purpose of it all.

As if to prove his words, the child approached one of the horses, a bit hesitant but the countless eyes on him made him swallow the fear and attempted to climb atop the horse.

What surprised everyone even more was how the horse lowered itself all of a sudden. It still looked stationary and it only descended a bit to help the child.

After that, what followed next was a bunch of giggling and laughing from the child himself, raising his hand up in the air as the carousel horses started running forward while moving up and down.

Henry immediately noticed something amiss, 'There's no joyful music…That'll be a problem and a huge game-changer for rides like this.'

Unfortunately, Henry can't think of a solution for now. Unless there's a magic involving music then it'll take a while, perhaps a few months before he can apply it to some of the rides.

'I have all the time in the world. Better to take everything one step at a time.'

Henry then watched as the rest of the children and even some adults approached the carousel. Some helped their children ride on a horse while some adults told their children to wait for a while under the guise that they would test the carousel's safety.

Though the latter is more like the parents being a bit selfish and wanting to enjoy it first before their children but who is Henry to care, so he didn't expose them.

Henry crossed his arms with a smile on his face as he watched Arendellian citizens with smiles on their faces. And then he heard Elsa whisper from behind.

"I want to try it too."

Henry chuckled and caressed her head, "Why not make your own then? You can even create a horse that can run on the ground. You can even make it run on the ocean's surface and many more."

Elsa sighed in defeat, "I know that. It's just that…this is different. To be able to enjoy this kind of thing while surrounded by my people who are enjoying the same thing."

"Then why not do it?"

"Huh?" Elsa lifted her head in confusion.

"Elsa. You're the creator of this entire Amusement Park. Arendelle's Disneyland is yours. If you want to ride, then no one's stopping you. If you tell them you want to try, do you think they'll try to refuse you?"

When she shook her head, he continued, "Exactly. They want to see you enjoy this as much as you want to see them enjoy the carousel. Just give it a try, your people love you more than you think."

Elsa nervously glanced at the carousel, filled to the brim with children and adults alike. They seem to be having so much fun and she doesn't want to be the one to spoil it.

However, Henry was right. Perhaps, they wouldn't mind her enjoying her own creation?

As soon as Elsa stepped up on the carousel's platform which put it into a stop, everyone suddenly stared at her.

Her eyes darted around, her mouth opened and yet no words wanted to come out. Are they mad at her? Angry that she destroyed their fun? She kept asking herself.

That's when a girl, no older than seven, climbed down from her horse and held Elsa's hand, "Princess Elsa! Do you want to try? We can ride together!"

The cute voice followed by her expectant gaze, immediately melted Elsa's defenses and before she knew it, she found herself nodding her head as she carried the girl and placed her near the top of the horse's neck before climbing on the back.

The carousel resumed and this time, there was a Princess with them. Her action immediately drew affectionate and proud gazes.

As if they're trying to yell that their Princess is unlike any other. That they're no different from her as they enjoy the same things.

On the other hand, Henry stood behind the crowd with crossed arms. He was looking at Elsa's smiley face as she started to open up and enjoy the carousel.

'Is this what it feels like to be proud of someone you love?' He asked himself and followed by the image of his mermaid friend appearing in his mind.

'I hope Ariel can enjoy this someday…'
