Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

The Untainted.

 Chapter 15

Rihannat stood up to greet him " Brother Olalekan... bro Qazeem...she stammered.

(Smiles) Anyone you call me is fine by me. And stop looking at them. They will inject your eyes with virus.

Rihannat laughed aloud. "Virus as how!!". She exclaimed. Her nervousness washed away. Surprised that the quiet man can be humorous too.

Just saying the truth or am I wrong? His words flowing out like he's stating the fact.

Though a little curl at the corner of his lips shows he's amuse seeing how hard she's laughing at his words but well...he is saying the truth. He doesn't know why his sister chooses to befriend those kind of people when she is not like them. Is it an act of rebellion or what? Girls are hard to train. He thought inwardly.

"Girls are not hard to train" suddenly he heard Rihannat voice.

Did I say that out?

Yes, I heard you saying girls are hard to train. You shouldn't say that because they are the most easiest and loveliest to nuture.

Girls are easier than boys because we are soft and quickly adapt. We follow rules and guidelines more than boys. We want simplicity more than complexity. But we need monitoring, mentoring, counseling from mothers, love and attention from both parents and siblings, provisions and ethics guaranteed, close relationships with our mothers especially. Mothers should be the first friend of their kids. Female needs alot of attention from their parents so they don't feel neglected and seek for it outside.

A strong relationship built on open communication and trust is the key. Building a strong supportive relationship with her. Encouraging and teaching her self respect, independence and decision making but not totally removing the mother from the picture.

Set limits for her, monitor her daily activities in school and sometimes track her location and call to ask her whereabout for safety, moral and discipline. You are protecting her not restricting her.

And a child need to be brought up in a God fearing home and religious environment. You shouldn't just bear religious names without practicing. Parents should let their children know the existence of God and teach them the act of obedience and worship from young age. Act of submission to God that brings peace and love. And this can be achieved when the parents too are God fearing, strong believers and worshippers of Allah with total submission to him.

We have it easy when all this are there. They feel less comfort outside and zero need to get approval out there anymore. You have already taken the space in their heart since childhood and you are still occupying as they grow. Growing and bonding with them in the little world they created before the dark world out there taint it is all they need.

Wow...You.... you really open my view and clear my brain right now. Its... amazing how you break down what we overlooked. You are right. And I am sure your parents are amazing. ( Rihannat smiled).....

She is the last born but we have no time for her. I left for abroad when she was in JSS3 and oladeji was already preparing for SSCE WAEC and JAMB that same year then with the mindset of gaining admission after his waec into university. He wanted to use an awaiting result. And he did made it, graduated with first class to take over dad's business. All he was after then was studying, studying, studying. Even before that she was neglected. We only checkup on her when we came back from school and mum might not even be around for half a month sometimes. She's been always alone since her early age.

Mother was always traveling with dad for business abroad, so she's always left with her nanny. Now I see how things got worst.

Em. em sorry, I was just saying....

You don't need to say anything sweetheart, you are right. We will make things right. It's not too late. Thanks for this, You will make a good mom Rihannat. You talk like an experienced mother when you are not yet. I can imagine how great you will be when the time comes.

Cough..cough...cough... Rihannat choked on her breath.

"Are you okay?" Olalekan asked

Yes. yes. I am....fine. Rihannat forced the words out. Still trying to process his words " you will make a good mom".

She peeped at Olalekan and saw him looking at her smilingly. She blushed.

"Rihannat, I am so sorry for investigating you but I had to because I thought you were like them but you surprised me.; Olalekan looked at her apologetically. Plsase forgive me. He was very surprised with all the information he got about her, even Oladeji and their parents were amazed.

Class topper with a guy known as basit, their class president. No sugar daddy like other ladies, managing on scholarship, doing her little hustle in the school to earn without doing rubbish. With such a beautiful voice, shape and aura, she can make it without raising a finger but she didn't sell herself. Religious and perfect for any man but she keeps rejecting marriage. "But why is she rejecting marriage from wealthy people, its unknown? Just struggling alone. Showing her resilience and determination. He wondered what other quality she has!

What? You investigated me? Rihannat was shocked.

Yes, I did but.....I...Please can you tell me something.

What is it? She asked still in stupor.

Why do you keep rejecting all your marriage proposals when you can have better. Someone like you should have risen up the ladder by now with your unparalleled beauty. I know it's not my business but please can you tell me and quench my curiosity.

I am angry and annoyed that you investigated me without my consent but.. I will still tell you and see if you will still say that later.

" Look at me now, without beauty I am nothing. I haven't achieve anything. I don't even know if they love the real me or just my beauty. Do I even have value to them? What if this beauty fades and then... what? Becomes neglected, old worn out shoe while another beauty is brought in to worship, worthless and cast aside.? A future that I am not sure of. And once you marry, divorce Is a taboo.

Will you still agree when you know the future is uncertain?

What is your opinion about this? Do you think she's right or not? Let's discuss in the comment section.
