THE UNTAINTED Chapter 14
AT THE PARTY (folakemi's house)
The party started around noon after all the drama that took place in the living room that morning when they saw her. To say it was just a welcoming home party is an understatement. It was elaborate and glamorous. Can she say enormous? Full of wealthy and influential people. More like business party. "Sighs" All the people were above her level.
As her thought wondered around she heard the voice of the woman who has been caring for her since yesterday like her own daughter.
"Rihannat if there is anything you need make sure you call the servers okay, don't feel shy. Take this place as your second home okay dear?" Folakemi's mother came by as usual to make feel less uncomfortable. She left again when a woman called her, seems like her friend with how they exchanged pleasantries with hugs, cheers and laughter.
*"Now you won't shout and complain about how my boy won't come home, Marry a wife and give you grandkids. His brother always rant to me when we see at the office. (Giggle)" mum want to kill me with > I want grandkids now.> Please can you tell your friend to be patient with our poor souls...."* the voice fading away.
Rihannat sighed! "Poor souls; she thought.
She was sitting far away from the crowd after going around to meet with people who have interest in her drawings and calligraphy. She showed the samples she brought along and was delighted that she sold all of them. She even wrote some calligraphy there for some family who requested which earn her alot more. An old man who loved and appreciated her writing doubled her pay due to his excitement. "Its been awhile I saw this last; he commented happily.
Now still thinking about the orders she recieved today on painting and calligraphy, she's sure she will be busy for a very very long time. She's grateful that she came.
Rihannat wore a smile thinking about her earning spree. "Alhamdulillah Robil Alamin" she said aloud.
She turned to wave at folakemi who has been juggling between her and her clubby friends though none of folakemi family attended to them like how she's been cared and treated. Its obvious that they are not welcome but the ladies did not care. Typical "we are used to it people".
Folakemi is trying to make Rihannat entertained while also attending to her other friends. Rihannat felt sorry for her so she told her to sit with them. When its time for her to leave, she will call her.
They were chatting dancing laughing happily without care since they arrived. Rihannat even saw some of the girls flirting with folakemi's brothers and their friends earlier when the man of the day was introduced, accompanied by his friends and brother. Their shamelessness is on a top notch. Its a high level she can't even grade.
"Cough cough cough."; who are you looking at my lady? Someone said behind her.
*Startled* she looked behind and saw folakemi's brother. The celebrant.
