Ren jumped into the River.
AGONY.
His mind saw the birth of the universe and the death of the stars. His body rotted and healed a thousand times a second.
"BIND!" Ren screamed.
He used his Ambition to grab a current of the river. Not the current of Flow, but the current of Stasis. He pulled it into his chest. He used the Anchors to nail it to his soul.
The universe seemed to pause.
Ren crawled out of the river. He looked at his hand. It was no longer rusted. It was smooth, pale, and perfect. His missing hand grew back. His gray hair turned black.
He took a breath. He did not need to exhale. His heart beat once, then stopped. He did not die.
"I am... Eternal," Ren whispered.
He walked out of the canyon. He stepped on a flower. The flower turned grey and disintegrated into dust. He touched a tree. The tree withered instantly.
Ren realized the horror. To keep Time stopped inside himself, his body had to drain the Time from everything around him.
He was no longer a man. He was a Black Hole. He was The Ancestor.
He walked toward his city, and the world died with every step he took.
