Lucas's sleep deprivation had its qualities. He was not nervous about the first day of work, and it gave him a strangely confident look. It was 7:30 a.m. on this beautiful morning. Lucas had just finished his eggs with toast and was getting ready for the ten-minute drive to work. He stood in front of the mirror, doing the last few touches to his hair. As he combed it, he thought, 'What type of cologne do women like? Aww, screw it, I'll use my most expensive one.'
If Lucas was an expert in anything, it was colognes. He had been collecting them from around the world for years, spending nearly every paycheck on fragrances, rent, and the bare essentials. He slowly sprayed his bottle of "Angel's Wisp" around his neck and clothes, looking like he regretted every puff of that expensive scent. Too late now.
'For the women. For the women. FOR THE WOMEN I MUST SMELL GOOD.' (If it is not obvious by now, he is a huge virgin.)
He wore a white button-up shirt with sleek pants, topped off with a cute bow tie his mom gave him for his birthday a few months ago. The bow tie had cartoon figures printed on it. Yes, he was seriously wearing that on his first day of work.
After finishing up, he brushed his teeth one more time and walked to his car. 'New job, new goal. My goal...'
"Not my virginity!" he yelled to the open world, stretching his arms out with a smile. Only then did he realize he did not say that in his thoughts.
Lucas reached his destination, a building with the sign "The Beauty Expenses" hanging over the entrance. 'I can't figure out why they would name a normal office this...' he wondered. Just as he took in the clean and modern look of the building, a beautiful woman with soft brown hair tied in a ponytail walked toward him. She wore a long brown coat with a white shirt and black pants, matching him almost exactly.
But all Lucas noticed were her bulging breasts that looked one wrong breath away from bursting through her shirt. 'Beauty expenses, huh...' His jaw hung open as he watched the woman approach.
"Up here," she said with a seductive smile. She acted like this was her natural state. Her chest was puffed out, and her aura practically beamed with confidence. Lucas snapped out of his trance and blushed as he finally lifted his head.
At that moment, Lucas's goal shifted. "I need to be better." Reality slapped him right across the face. He could not even speak to a girl without stuttering. He had no outstanding qualities except his smell, and even then, that was something a normal person should have. "H-hey, how are you?" he muttered, staring downward.
"Thanks for asking, I'm doing fine. I assume you're the newest addition to our office? Well then, let me introduce myself. I'm the best assistant in the universe, Sabrina Cole!" She delivered the last line with energetic confidence, the perfect recipe to make a virgin fall in love.
Fortunately, Lucas was not an average virgin. He was a HUGE virgin, which meant he could tell the difference between fake and genuine emotion. 'I'm not your average virgin, lady. Wait... Sabrina Cole? She's one of the three!'
"I'm Lucas Reed, nice to meet you." His lips curved upward as he reached out for a handshake. 'Step one to making a woman fall in love with you: hand-to-hand contact. I would not be doing this if I had not put lotion on my hands before, but luckily, I did. She is so pretty. I will never wash this hand again.' He had planned this moment all night.
Sabrina stared for a second, not noticing his extended hand. When she finally realized, she blushed and apologized as their hands met. "Shall we go inside? Don't worry, they will not bite. I will introduce you to your coworkers and give you a quick tour around the building." She let go of his hand and walked forward.
"Yeah, yeah, o-of course," Lucas said, scratching the back of his head. 'Step one was harder than I thought. Looks like step two will have to wait till I can improve my skills.' He jogged a little to keep up with Sabrina and aligned his steps with hers.
...
An hour later, Sabrina's cheerful tour and introductions were finished. 'Box A3, where is it, where is it, right there!' Lucas sat in his chair and looked over the desk. A small pile of paperwork, a "Worker's Manual", and a black laptop rested on top. Under the desk was a box containing a mouse, mouse pad, paper clips, and everything else he needed.
Each worker had a desk and chair, surrounded by walls almost as tall as they were. These walls enclosed the worker on three sides, which is why they were called Boxes. Lucas's box sat in the front row, directly across from the boss's office. 'The Victoria Hale lies just in front of me.' Her office had tinted front windows, just enough for Lucas to peek at Victoria Hale's beauty.
'I want those thighs to sandwich me...' He could only see her thighs from this angle, but that alone made him drool. Then he remembered the embarrassment with Sabrina and snapped himself out of it.
'Right now, the only way I can make the boss notice me is if I become the top of the office. I once saw in a web novel that first impressions mean everything. Does anyone in this office read web novels?'
He skimmed through the manual and finished his first stack of paperwork with ease. 'If the work is this easy, then I'll make the top in no time!' He pumped his fist and daydreamed about the future.
"Um, excuse me, Lucas? Is that right? Well, anyway, the boss wants to see you in her office." Lily Carter stood beside him. She was part of the beautiful trio. Unfortunately for Lucas, she had seen him mid-perverted fantasy.
Lucas snapped awake and blushed. "Uh, alright." He tried to smile, but his thoughts turned his face blank and emotionless. He became black and white. Honestly, I would too.
'Shit, shit, shit! Why does this keep happening to me?' No matter how hard he tried, Lily's soft and innocent face replayed in his head. Meanwhile, Lily had her own internal trouble.
'That face... do I have a fetish?' She held her red cheeks with both hands. Lucas did not see her, but even if he had, he would never believe he made her blush.
Lucas walked slowly down the hall, thinking of what he could say to maintain a conversation with the boss. 'A man should always prepare, plus I already finished today's work.'
He opened the office door quietly and spoke with a bright tone.
"Hey, bos-" Interruption, hahaha.
"You did not pick up your paperwork for today. It is your first day, so I will overlook this mistake. Just do not do it again, okay?" The boss glared at him. Her words were kind and forgiving, but her expression said the exact opposite.
'Welp, she ain't the ice queen for nothing...' Lucas gave a nervous laugh and apologized. 'Wow, she is even better than the other two. How will I ever get her hand in marriage?!'
He approached her desk, where the paperwork sat. He barely glanced at it, too distracted by the boss. When he finally looked, his jaw dropped so hard it might have passed through the floor. 'What the fuck?! This is ten times the paperwork I just did, and that took me almost an hour! Will I reach the top... how about will I keep my job??'
