Chapter 12 - Break out

"Wait, you are attending Gold Academy too?" Rose asked with an enthusiastic tone.

The past hours had passed with both of them talking about their normal lives, and from time to time, they flirted with each other.

Ray was interested in her; unlike most other girls, she had a dream to go to Mars and finish the war. Her body showed that she was not just talk; her muscles were perfectly built, with one of the best-shaped asses that Ray had ever seen.

"Yeah, it's good to see a friend in there!" He didn't want to go to classes at all; however, she seemed to be obsessed with the academy.

"If he doesn't do anything in five minutes, I'm going to start it myself!" She thought to herself as she pulled herself up from her chair, showing a better view of her ass.

Being watched by Ray and seeing his big bulge under his pants made her lust consume any other thought in her mind.

Lust system

Mission: Find a kink for Rose Icefang

Rewards: 1000 exp for each of the participants

If the task is finished in under one hour, both participants will get a bonus relationship.

"What?"

"What?"

"Missions are common after level 3, but this early, and such a generous reward!" Ray's thoughts were determined to complete it as soon as possible.

Both of them screamed at the same time. It was the first time that Rose saw something like this; the reward could get her to level 2 in an hour.

"You don't have any kinks?"

"No... In my system, its place is just blank. You know I'm not really into sex and this stuff." The reward and her own heat made her want to go down on this rabbit hole.

Ray slowly walked toward her; she wore a black bikini that showed less skin than any other bikini that Ray had ever seen.

He was just curious about what she had under those, and now he was going to get rewarded for it!

"I know it's too soon, but you know what's best for both of us."

Her face was red like a tomato; she nodded a little while opening her legs for Ray to sit between them.

"Ray, get your shit together."

"Keres?" His mood changed completely upon hearing the new person.

"Fucking finally." He had waited for hours for it to begin; his memories were vague about when it exactly happened.

A figure manifested from the shadows of the room; her voice came from the shadows around them: "A group of unknown origin has attacked the tower; the first thirty floors have already fallen."

Ray moved to pick up his watch; his normal clothes appeared around his body, with an invisible armor around his body.

"Marin and the guests?"

"She is safe, but we must slow them down until Yelena can find a way to stop their hacking system."

Memories flashed in his mind from when they attacked in his previous life; they were able to reach floor 100, and in order to save them, Yelena had to destroy most of the tower in order to get in. With thousands being slain on the way.

"No, I will slow them down. You should go and protect Marin and the guests. We don't know if they have vanguard or assassin squads." He turned to face the confused Rose: "Rose, you go too."

"But ... but I want to fight too!"

"They have blackfire throwers; you can't do anything." Keres walked out of the shadows; her face was covered by a white mask resembling an owl, with a red cape and a full body black leather suit.

"That mask..." Rose had heard many horror stories about that mask, the owl of the white city, the last warrior of a city that had vanished from the face of the earth.

Keres stepped forward toward Ray: "Why should I trust you that you can slow them down?"

"Do you have any other option? Between the two of us, you are the one who can stop an assassin, not me." Ray's expression was still weirdly calm.

"The tower had its own barrier around it; they probably had hacked it, or else they would be dead by now. However, I'm sure that Yelena can break the barrier." Keres explained to both of them that she didn't expect Ray to have knowledge about his own security.

"Yeah, and destroy the tower on her way." Ray ignored her as he started to check his body; most of his magic was replenished, and his physical condition was not perfect, but it could last for a few hours.

"As I said: Go protect the others." He saw that Rose was wearing her clothes too. "Rose, we've only known each other for a few hours, but I must ask for a favor: keep yourself safe."

Rose blushed from the sudden care. She said with a firm voice, "I will do my best."

Shadows whispered to her, "Let's go."

In a few breaths, Ray was left alone.

He went straight for the elevator; after making sure that Rose had reached floor eighty, he cut its ropes and locked down its service.

Everyone thought that the tower's master was Marin; however, Ray had long changed it to himself. He could control the power on any floor that he wanted just by commanding.

A voice echoed in his mind: "Ray, you are the stupidest person I have ever met."

"How much time do you need?" His wings grew from his back and flew toward the stairs.

"Two hours. But I don't give a fuck about the tower; if something was about to happen to you, I'd charge in."

"No. The only way you can charge in is if you prove that I'm dead. There is another thing I want you to do. How many people are in here?"

"A five member squad with a thousand person army."

"I can do something with that. But another thing that is more important is that they have locked themselves in here with us. Naturally they have a plan to escape as fast as they can when they are finished. I want you to keep an eye on that."

Ray's plan was simple on his side: kill all the of them. But if they sensed a danger, they might call for reinforcements and make the tower a battleground.

"You can trust me with th..." Yelena's voice in her mind got weaker.

"Any last advice?"

"Don't hesitate to go for the neck. The best way to slow them down is long range engagement; the range of Blackfire throwers is really low."

"What if I run into their squad?"

"Run."

Ray sighed. How little did she know.

"Yelena, if something goes wrong, don't hesitate to burn them alongside my corpse.

"What do y…"

Ray closed his mind to any outside messages.

His voice broke the silence of the stairs: "If I fail at such a stage, I don't deserve to walk on my own path..."
