Chapter 4 - The World Inside Me

The night was quiet. Too quiet.

The gentle beeping from the hospital monitor was the only sound in the room. My parents had gone home to rest, leaving a nurse outside and me alone with the flickering shadow of moonlight by the window.

But I wasn't tired. Sleep felt impossible with all the thoughts spinning inside my head.

Two lives.

Two memories.

And a secret voice that whispered inside me.

I still remember the metallic words that echoed faintly when I first woke up:

[System Activated. Supreme Space Interface Online.]

At first, I thought it was my imagination or some leftover hallucination from the accident. But it kept whispering like the hum of an engine just below hearing. A call, waiting to be answered.

So that night, I sat up, took a deep breath, and whispered, "Show me."

The world around me froze.

The curtain stopped moving; the noise vanished. My surroundings dissolved into light—like a thousand stars shattering quietly into dust. Then, in the blink of an eye, I was no longer in my hospital room.

I was somewhere else.

I stood on an endless plain of green grass. Warm wind brushed against my cheeks. The air smelt fresh, cool, and alive. In front of me stretched a massive castle, its tall towers rising into white clouds, its black gates glimmering with golden runes.

Behind me flowed a wide river—its water shimmering faintly blue, almost glowing. I could feel its gentle magic even from metres away. Instinctively, I dipped my fingers in. The wounds and soreness in my leg vanished instantly.

I stared at my hand in disbelief. "So… this is real."

[Welcome, Master Aron Tuner—now Bruce Valen.]

[You have entered the "Supreme Space."]

The voice sounded calm, genderless, and almost godlike.

"Supreme Space?" I whispered, turning around in a slow circle.

[A dimensional domain owned by the previous life of the host. It now belongs fully to you.]

I took a shaky step forward, my heart pounding.

Everywhere I looked, there was activity and structure—like an entire world built just for me. Far to the right of the castle were vast farmlands, stretching as far as I could see: fields of golden wheat, orchards of fruit trees, and gardens filled with vegetables of every kind. Farmers—no, energy constructs—worked tirelessly, their glowing bodies moving with rhythm and precision.

Beyond them stood warehouses, massive as mountains and glowing faintly at the seams.

I walked closer to one, and the door opened by itself.

Inside, my brain almost stopped working.

Rows upon rows of stacked crates reached the ceiling, filled with items from both my past and this new world—weapon racks, rifles, ancient swords, energy shields, books, blueprints, even modern laptops and cellphones, carefully arranged. And everywhere small green holographic icons floated above them.

[All resources are restored and maintained infinitely. Time stands still within storage areas.

"So… it's a world within a world," I muttered. "It can hold everything."

[Affirmative. Living and non-living matter may be stored. Conversion protocols enabled—examples include transforming ores into usable metals, weapons, or fuel.]

The more I explored, the more astonished I became.

Outside the storage halls stood lines of vehicles—everything from simple cars and bikes to heavy machines: cranes, trolleys, buses, jets, planes, and even sleek black boats gliding smoothly on small artificial lakes. Their engines hummed softly, eternal and perfect. Nearby glittered piles of jewellery, chests filled with gemstones, gold bars, and artefacts from my previous life's dealings.

I walked slowly between them, my fingers brushing against the side of a midnight-blue jet plane.

Even as Aron Tuner, I never owned anything like this. My old warehouses, hidden all over the world, now looked like toy boxes compared to this place.

[Energy Supply: Infinite. Resources: Unlimited. Command Authority: Solely Bound to You.]

I exhaled shakily. "If anyone knew… the balance of the entire world could change."

But it wasn't greed that stirred inside me—it was power, the kind that meant protection. I thought of my parents, the silver-haired mother who hugged me like life itself, and my calm, stern father who made the world kneel quietly. I thought of my sisters waiting to meet me.

This time… I had the power to guard them.

I continued walking, and the castle doors creaked open by themselves, revealing a grand hall lined with floating lights. Each step echoed faintly against the marble floor.

The throne at the end of the hall was carved of black crystal. Above it hung a giant emblem—the same mark that had appeared on my palm.

[Inside the castle, you may manage all systems: resource generation, energy control, spatial storage, and production line automation. Would you like to initiate a system walkthrough?

I hesitated, then nodded. "Yes."

At once, glowing screens appeared in the air—like interfaces from a futuristic game. Diagrams of energy flows, farming schedules, vehicle maintenance, and material conversion flooded my vision.

It even showed healing chambers, training rooms, research labs, and a vast underground armoury hidden beneath the castle—stocked with weapons from every era and technology level.

I stepped back, half laughing at the absurdity. "This isn't just a space… It's a god's domain."

[Incorrect. It is your domain.]

I froze at that answer.

My domain. My world.

For the first time since my death, I actually smiled. "Then… let's make it ours."

Hours, or maybe minutes, passed—I couldn't tell. Time flowed differently here.

I saved mental notes of everything: energy movement, how the rivers worked, and the properties of that glowing magic water. Just dipping my injured leg in it restored my strength beyond normal human limits. My mind felt clear, sharper. Every skill I once had as Aron seemed amplified, faster, and cleaner—as if this world recognised me as its rightful ruler.

When I stepped onto a small balcony overlooking the space, the breeze carried the scent of fruit and rain. Somewhere in the distance, small birds—shaped by energy itself—flew in arcs above the trees.

This world was alive.

And it was waiting for me to command it.

[Would you like to synchronise knowledge systems with your current consciousness?]

"Yes," I whispered.

The next moment, brilliant light swirled through me. My mind surged with pure information—construction formulas, blueprints, farming data, production algorithms, energy physics, and even alchemy principles. All of it filled me smoothly without pain, like pieces falling into place.

It was overwhelming, but also… natural.

I looked at my small ten-year-old hands and felt power hum just beneath the skin. A child outside—but inside, the same mind that led the world's underground, now connected to something endless.

[Assimilation complete.]

[Welcome, Supreme Master.]

The title sounded unfamiliar, even strange—but it felt right.

I spent a little while exploring the far lands again before closing my eyes. "Exit."

Instantly, the world faded. The hospital room returned. The moonlight filtered through the curtains again. The monitor beeped at the same slow pace, as if nothing had changed.

But I knew better.

Something inside me had awakened—something far greater than any empire I'd once built with gold and fire.

Now, I had a world in my heart, a universe that answered only to my voice.

I lay down quietly and stared at the ceiling, smiling faintly.

Even gods would envy me now.

But I had no interest in ruling them.

This time, I would use this power to protect. To rebuild.

And for once, to live.
