Two baby boys are born in a middle eastern hospital it's a hot day the suns blazing down the boys are wrapped in thin white blankets the first comes out strong and healthy the second one a little lacklustre
The mother is a young woman naïve gentle kind-hearted a little unsure of herself she doesn't know much about raising children, but she wants the best for her kids
The father a silent stoic man you can hardly tell what he feels from looking at his face he gives off an imposing presence but when he looks at his sons his eyes soften a bit because in his own way, he loves his family a lot
This story follows the life of the second twin born a few minutes later his name is Abdullah.
2010-2012
The first two years of Abdullah's life were hard to say the least his brother grew normally kicking laughing being a curious baby—Abdullah did little more than sleep and drink milk he hardly cried, moved, or did anything.
At first people thought he would catch up. but as time went on the family grew concerned. they took him to the doctor, but the thought there was something wrong with the boy. his mother refused to believe it, always praying, crying, caring for the boy.
One night Abdullah fell dangerously ill the mother barely took care of herself in the process of caring for her boy the boy's grandmother took care of his mother while his mother took care of him.
Thousands of miles away the boy's father was looking for the opportunities and hope so that he could earn the money and have the means to bring his family to a better country.
The first twin named Ali was primarily taken care of by his grandparents and uncles while Abdullah stayed mostly in his mothers' arms.
One day Abdullah got better he recovered from his sickness, and everyone was overjoyed but some even better news arrived the father had settled down and was ready to bring his family over.
2012-2014
But nothing in life's ever perfect
because of some immigration issues the father could only bring his wife and second son. they could've waited for Ali, but he thought it was better for them to just go. the mother didn't argue packing her bags thinking she could handle it
Eventually the day came where they arrived without their firstborn son, he was taken care of by his grandparents and uncles while Abdullah and his parents got adjusted to a new country.
Ireland is very different from Pakistan its very cold and wet there. Their family didn't have much, a roof over their head and food for their son. The father worked long hours. at night the mother cried missing Ali and her family.
Eventually the mother and Abdullah would go back for months at a time. Abdullah loved it there the warmth, the loud, the big house full of people. He spent those days with his grandparent's, cousins and following his brother around.
Even though the brother were born minutes apart Abdullah looked up to his brother a lot he was nearly twice his size strong clever and alert. His brother would always watch over Abdullah, he was sweet naïve and untouched by the cruelty of the world, but Ali knew the danger especially in a country you learn early how to survive
Each time he returned to Ireland he felt lonely and missed his family lots especially his brother the silent house the cold air it all felt so empty
Eventually he was going to start pre-school.
2014-2015 Abdullah first day was unlike any other day
He walked into a big building, holding his mother's hand, confused and lost. they walk through a door and saw a big women smiling kindly. She was the teacher. Her voice soft and welcoming. Abdullah didn't smile back; confused, he looked and held his mother's hand tighter
Eventually his mother had to leave and with her left every bit of safety and warmth he had. The children were loud and strange.
He cried for hours that day he wanted his mother back he couldn't understand the others. hiding under tables and chairs, he was scared. He just wanted his mother
The next few days weren't as bad for him he was silent and patient waiting for his mother he started to understand he just needed to wait he would watch all the other kids laughing playing but he didn't feel like he belonged.
He once decided to not just wait and watch he played with a toy truck quickly getting bored of it and returning to his habits.
Home was different it felt warm and safe to Abdullah he lived in a small apartment which was still an upgrade to before his mother cooked for him kept the home tidy and gave him all the attention in the world. His mother was his world his only comfort in this country.
His mother was very cautious and protective of Abdullah he wouldn't go outside much but he didn't mind he felt safe inside but because of this he grew to be weak and unathletic
Eventually he moved to a new school a much bigger school then his previous one he was starting primary school new faces new people new fears. That was just
The beginning…
