Chapter 71 - Chapter 71 Hearts Begin Healing

The thought that Dean will endure excruciating pain before his death should probably disturb me more than it does. Instead, I feel nothing but cold satisfaction. His crimes extend far beyond what he inflicted on me personally. He wounded Faith, left our pack warriors bleeding, nearly killed Dorian, and worst of all, he shattered something inside Joseph. My mate carries himself like an unbreakable force, yet I sensed the doubt creeping through him, the bitter taste of perceived failure. Nobody gets away with making my mate question himself. Nobody.

I understand that Joseph and our pack will deliver their own brand of justice, but I know exactly how to twist the knife where Dean feels it most. He's coveted me for years, even murdered his own father to eliminate the man who shielded me from his obsession. Flaunting my bond with Joseph in front of him was calculated cruelty, and watching him unravel proved I'd struck my target perfectly.
