Dorothy's POV
The steady stream of wounded warriors finally begins to ease. A warrior limps in with a metal spike driven through his boot, and between gritted teeth, he tells me they've broken through the enemy packhouse. The battle is nearly over. Throughout the night, I've sensed Joseph's pain through our bond, but nothing my mate couldn't handle.
Exhaustion weighs on me now that the chaos is settling, but sleep won't come until Joseph is home and I've examined every inch of him myself.
I'm still working on the spiked warrior, carefully aligning his fractured bones while his wolf begins the healing process, when voices erupt from the front entrance.
"They're back, Luna," Natasha announces, bursting into the treatment room.
"Go ahead, Adaline. Check on Karl. I'll be out once I finish here," I tell her. She and Natasha rush out immediately.
"You should go too, Luna," the warrior beneath my hands says.
