Joseph's POV
After hours of passionate intimacy with his mate and sleeping off the exhaustion from battle, Joseph awakens feeling renewed. During his rest, Oliver had mended the remaining wounds, his mate remained secure and content while carrying his pups, and only Dr. Anker remained as unfinished business, currently held in the pack cells.
One matter required attention before confronting Dr. Anker, and that involved Keller. Dorothy had informed him of Keller's death wish upon arrival. Joseph comprehended such despair. Pack members without belonging experienced profound suffering. During their morning preparations, Joseph and Dorothy discussed possibilities for maintaining Keller's patrol duties. She educated him about prosthetic options, explaining the necessary adaptations for both Keller and the pack, but once he and his wolf adapted to the device, maintaining warrior status and pack defense remained achievable.
First, however, they needed to bid farewell to their allies.
