Percy's POV
The frustration burned through me like acid as Deryl and I entered my office. "I can't wrap my head around our damn warriors. They sat there bleeding, too proud to go see Henderson for treatment," I snarled, pacing behind my desk.
Deryl remained silent, his jaw set in that familiar way that meant he had something to say but wasn't sure he should.
"Out with it," I demanded, crossing my arms and fixing him with a hard stare.
He shrugged, but his eyes held a challenge. "Funny thing is, I didn't see you there last night either, Alpha. The pack follows their leader's example. If you don't trust your mate enough to let her treat your wounds, why should they trust her with theirs?"
A low growl rumbled in my chest. "I can't show weakness to the pack."
