Joseph's POV
The morning air carries the scent of sweat and determination as I oversee Lincoln' challenge for the Gamma position. Five warriors have stepped forward to test his worthiness, and depending on their individual strength and endurance, this could stretch from a quick morning session to an exhausting day-long ordeal. Most of these challengers are formidable fighters, so I'm preparing for the long haul.
My priority is protecting my pack members from serious harm. While challenge injuries are inevitable, and I know Dorothy stands ready to heal any wounded warriors, I refuse to let our newly thriving pack suffer unnecessary damage. I'll call these fights before anyone sustains permanent injury.
The first opponent falls when Lincoln wrenches his shoulder from its socket. An hour of intense combat, and I expect similar duration from the remaining matches.
