Sunday had been perfect. Lara and I spent the entire day surrounded by our closest friends, and while we maintained the pretense of studying, our real focus centered on developing battle strategies to defeat Alpha Dion in the coming war.
"Dion doesn't have a prayer against us, Lara. We have half a dozen brilliant minds working around the clock to find his weaknesses, and he has no clue you're planning his downfall. Even if he suspects something, he'll never see what we're bringing to his doorstep," Faith declared with fierce confidence.
Lara's gaze swept across our loyal circle before settling on me, her eyes blazing with gratitude that made my chest tighten. I gave her a subtle wink but forced myself to stay focused on what truly mattered - breaking the chains of that alliance bond that held her prisoner.
