Chapter 2: Inner World, Open!

If the thought network terminal is destroyed, all Chitauri soldiers connected to it will die instantly.
This was also the reason why, in the original plot, after Tony Stark sent the nuclear bomb through the space portal and destroyed the Chitauri mothership, all the Chitauri on Earth died.
