"Finally, after seven hundred years, ensure you take care of her Maya, she was created just for you," a young boy asserted in my dream, his face illuminated by a broad smile. "Ensure this tragic hero gets her happy ending."
"Who are you?" I questioned.
"You know, you silly little monkey. I'm GOD, the creator of this universe. Now if you'll excuse me, I have something to attend to. Enjoy yourself." My eyes flickered open to find Hamartia. Nestled into my lap with her forehead pressed against my stomach. "Hey Hamartia, I need to get up," I whispered while nudging her side.
"No," she mumbled in response, burrowing deeper into my belly.
So, I lightly poked her on the side, hitting that one spot I knew was particularly sensitive. "OUCH!" Hamartia exclaimed, the surprise evident in her voice. Smirking mischievously, I teased, "I did warn you to wake up." She shot back playfully, "You're a real pain." Speaking gently, I reassured her, "After I come back, we can hang some more."
Concern flickered in her eyes as she replied, "But you'll be exhausted by then."
"That's what those energy drinks are for."
Hamartia's answer was tinged with uncertainty but hopefulness as she said, "Okay… just don't forget to stay hydrated." Giving her a nod and a warm smile, I promised "I won't forget."
After a brisk rinse in the shower, I slipped into athletic attire: a crisp white-T tucked into ebony yoga pants and my pair of star brand shoes, crafted from star-born material harvested from the Tree of Life. Unlike myself, these star-born could manifest in animalistic forms, such as sheep or wolves. Their rarity made them pretty popular and expensive.
Once dressed, I exited the bathroom, only to encounter Griffin waiting outside. With unexpected forcefulness, she ushered me back inside and secured the door behind her.
"So, you're dating Hamartia now?"
"No?"
"Wait, you're not."
"We just had a talk last night that improved our relationship, that's it."
"Oh…"
"Are you ok?" I said, reaching out my hand.
"Yeah! Yeah! I'm good uhh- have a good day at your lesson!" Griffin quickly left the bathroom stumbling over her words.
What was that all about?
Following that incident, I made my way to the living room. Hamartia was there, nestled within a cozy blanket. Eyes glued to an online video streaming on her device. "I'm heading out now, see you later." I said as I leaned in to hug Hamartia.
"See yea." With that exchange, I set off for my next training session. This time around, it was anything but ordinary. Instead of being subjected to the usual energy suppression exercises. I found myself preparing for combat against Terra.
"You must be insane," I protested at Terra.
"Do you want to become stronger?" she retorted.
"Yeah…"
"Then brace yourself."
We stepped into a stark white room, where Terra proceeded to remove her robotic arms and replace them with colossal metal fists.
"Are you ready, Maya?"
"Yeah, I'm ready."
Without warning, Terra charged towards me, launching black energy orbs that exploded upon contact with the ground. With agility and precision, I sidestepped the blasts and propelled myself into the air, where I aimed my finger like a pistol and fired a tiny blue blast at Terra. However, they were effortlessly deflected by her massive fist. Quick as lightning, Terra leapt up and seized me by the leg.
"shit"
"Haha" Terra laughed
With a force that could have obliterated a normal person, Terra flung me onto the hard ground. The impact was brutal, but my supernatural abilities kicked in. I sumoned all my strength and twisted her colossal thumb out of place. My tail acted as a makeshift anchor, burrowing into the top of her hand to immobilize it. My fist glowed with pent-up energy, and I drove it into her massive hand, obliterating it completely within the span of five seconds.
Terra retreated a few steps. "You're quick," she conceded with a smirk, "but not quick enough."
Suddenly, I felt an iron grip pinning me down from behind, it was the very hand I thought I had destroyed. it regenerated?
"What in the-" Before I could finish my sentence, another blow landed on me, shattering the restraining hand and fracturing several of my bones simultaneously. Pain exploded through my body, and I couldn't stifle a scream.
"Too much for you?" Terra sauntered towards me while shards of metal reformed around her like a protective shell.
I pushed myself off the ground despite the agony coursing through every fiber of my being. Blood trickled down from my nose while stars in my hair flickered with shades of pink and red light. "I can keep going," I grunted defiantly
My body screamed in protest, it felt as if I was on fire, but stubbornness overcame pain. After all, surrendering after just one hit wasn't an option for me. If I wanted to become god, I had to get back up.
"Ha! This will be entertaining," Terra retorted.
I shifted tactics from brute force to agility. Instead of using fists, I utilized my legs and tail to dash around erratically, using hit-and-run maneuvers designed to make me unpredictable.
"Ohh…so that's your plan? Fine by me," Terra taunted before suddenly appearing behind me, her cold metallic fingers closing around my tail. "Too~ slow!" Terra yelled, her voice ringing with delight. With a swift motion, she flung me across the room. As I sailed through the air, she materialized above me, landing a solid kick to my stomach that sent me plummeting straight down. With no other choice I used an ace up my sleeve, a technique passed down from my father.
A blade materialized out of nowhere, slicing off one of Terra's massive fists while spears shot out, impaling her knees and forcing her to collapse onto the ground. Shaking off the impact, I pushed myself up from the floor. "Bet you didn't see that one coming. Seems like victory is mine," I said while holding my side. "Oh darling, I've got a whole arsenal of tricks up my sleeve," Terra retorted, as a halo materialized above her head, and her irises deepened into an intense shade of violet. She whispered something under her breath. The world around me started to blur and spin before everything plunged into darkness.
Terra
"Holy shit, nobody told me you were a star caster. You were so close… you're gonna go far kid, beyond the stars in the sky."
I reassured Maya before channeling a surge of blue energy from my palm into her chest. I watched as the wounds closed on her body.
That was a close call; my robotic limbs couldn't regenerate.
After tending to Maya, I contacted Griffin, to come and take her home.
Maya's progress is almost scary. She is growing faster than any being I have ever seen. Back when I was a child, I had a similar growth rate. I was a part of an experiment called the star born recreation project. The Dwemies, a race from Maya's home world, attempted to make a man-made star born. As you can guess it was a failure, but because of the experiment I can release a huge amount of power in exchange my body slowly decays. Did you ever wonder why people have halos? It's because back during the first creation of the universe, people were getting so powerful their body would decay or outright explode, so God created halos to stop this, but in my case my halo don't work, I can infinitely expand my power at the cost of my body.
Some time passed, and Maya's power grew exponentially, overshadowing even my own strength with her sheer physical power alone.
One day I was called before the council. They each sat on thrones in a dimly lit room. These members of the council were, Queen Patra of the sky serpents, King Lemar (Maya's father), and the last witch Maya's mother and of course the Dwemie queen. She looks like a thirteen-year-old.
"So… Been a while. Am I in trouble?" I asked nervously. "No, you're not. We have learned that Lucifer, the god of destruction, has survived the fall of the cloud kingdom. Reports say he's working with Hades to get a new body." King Lemar responded.
"Oh~so do you want me to kill him?"
"No, we have a different plan in mind. We plan to let Maya meet Acuti."
"Are you outta your damn, MINDs!" Queen Patra leaned toward me. "We plan on doing it on a nearby moon, so we won't destroy the ship."
"I see then. What do you y'all need me to do?"
Maya
After half an hour of waiting, under the council building, in some sort of garage, I started to question. Why did mother and father call me here? Across from me, just standing next to a shuttle (teleportation ship) was a skinny girl in sleek black armor, covering her head to toe. She's a Calist I could tell by her not having feet, but she also held a rifle. So maybe she was some sort of mixed breed? Guessing because she has hands. I decided to strike up a conversation. "Hey, I wondered what they called us down for…?" I was met with silence. It kind of creeped me out.
Soon Terra descended the stairs in front of us. "My bad it took me a while to get here." She said with her hand on her hip. "You good, you didn't take long at all, master." Terra entered the ship and I and the girl followed after. In a blink of an eye we were teleported to a moon, it was surprisingly lush despite it not having a star. Terra was the first to step off the ship, she threw arms in the air as me and the girl followed her and yelled.
"TIME TO GET NAKED!"
"Hell, no, what the hell is wrong with you!" the armored girl shouted
"Thought you were mute" I looked at the armored girl
"Haha, just kidding but I need y'all to have some skin contact though" Terra asked
"Why?"
"You will see, but Acuti, I'm gonna need you to take that armor off"
"No" Acuti resisted
"I will buy you a power drink~"
"Bet" She quickly took off the armor just leaving a tight black muscle shirt and shorts with a purple line on the sides,
"That was easy. But here, I will explain what's going on first before I give y'all any instructions: Y'all are twins, born from the same fruit, on the tree of life, your powers were sealed away at birth, to keep y'all from accidentally destroying the tree of life. The seal can be broken if y'all makes skin contact. Which is why y'all were kept away from each other." Terra explained.
"Oh, ok it's that simple, Acuti~ give me a big fat hug," I jumped to hug Acuti.
"Wait! no, not-"
*BOOOM!*
On contact, everything just turns on fire, like a nuclear bomb everything for a second turns into liquid, but it does not affect us at all, we don't have any burns or injury, and I feel this rush of energy. Terra on the other hand was on the ground unconscious, but no injuries at least, looking into the red fiery sky you could see, I and Acuti's halos.
"Hey, go activate the ship!" I told Acuti
"Yeah, give me a sec!"
After boarding the ship, we discovered our clothes were reduced to ashes. The ship remained unscathed as Acuti assumed control, steering us back to NAD. Terra woke up, her limbs regenerating, "Why are so stupid?" Terra asked as I held her in my arms "my bad," I chuckled a bit.
"That's nothing to laugh at. Anyway, how big are they?" Terra questioned as she stood up.
"They're bigger than the moon itself," Acuti interjected.
Terra nodded her head in approval, "Oh, by the way, there should be some gear in those lockers over there." Terra pointed out. Acuti placed the ship on auto pilot before joining me at the lockers. Inside there were skintight black suits. While I was zipping up, I noticed that Acuti's skin was white. She looked more like a star born Heba, I wonder if that would be racist to say?
"I thought Star Borns were only dark-skinned?" I commented
"Topically we are but I'm albino" she responded
"Oh, I see, sorry for my ignorant comment"
"It's no problem." she said, pulling up her suit, smiling.
Still, I felt bad. I didn't mean to say that out loud. When we stepped out of the ship we were met with cameras and thousands of people cheering our names, looks like we landed in the middle of the street outside of the council building, we were escorted by four guards into the building where we were met with queen Patra and she gave me the orders to go finish off Lucifer as she gave back my Excalibur.
"Good luck out their high commander Maya, and sniper Acuti," queen Patra saluted us,
Perched at the left wing of the council table, she commanded attention. The rest of the council members fell into step behind her, exchanging respectful nods. I lingered near the shadowy room's exit, preparing for the mission ahead. Seventy-eight soldiers and a single Ark Angel awaited my command. Hamartia, wanted to join, but was denied because, I wanted to do this on my own; Griffin and Heba remained behind as well.
Before I left my mother gave me a scroll. She told me to open it, when there was no choice. Our expedition was no small endeavor; a huge raid was launched on the whole planet. High-ranking commanders led the charge alongside me and Acuti. Three colossal super carriers loomed in orbit, each as big as a moon, to avoid gravitational disturbances they kept their distance. Our base was built on the sea, with warships flanking us protectively. The Ark Angel designated as a warlord, left to negotiate with Zeus and other false gods, while we awaited further instructions during a week-long standstill after setting up our base.
"Ahh. I'm bored!"
Reclined on the hard wooden floor of my master bedroom, I sported a mismatched ensemble of just a shirt and panties. One leg was awkwardly stuck in halfway-removed leggings. Beside me, there lay an empty plastic bag and my red shirt adorned with scattered crumbs from a bag of chips. With exaggerated anticipation, I held a retro radio close to my ear, waiting for something to happen. Suddenly, the door burst open.
"Commander sir" it was one of my soldiers
"That's a first. Someone called me sir"
"Sorry Ma'am"
"Naw it's ok, call me sir from now on, it has a good ring to it" I said as I got up off the ground.
"Yes sir"
"Anyway, what do you need?"
"Umm we got a weather spirit that wants to speak to you"
"Oh, got it, be right there then"
After he left, I just took off my half-on leggings and put on some shoes. I went to the main deck where I found Acuti talking to the spirit with three other soldiers pointing Bayonets charge rifles (regular bayonets that shoot bolts of electricity)
"Everybody put down your weapons," I said, putting my hands on my waist in a confident pose
"Where are your clothes!?" everyone shouted
"You can only see my legs calm down!" I retorted.
Despite genders not truly existing in the universe people still frown down at indecency, but I for one don't care too much. I put my arms down and started walking towards the spirit, but the wind suddenly picked up, lifting my shirt revealing my black panties and the bottom of my chest I quickly put down my shirt.
"whoops~ sorry about that," I said with my face slightly red
Acuti, not saying a word, dragged me back inside the ship.
Acuti
I had to coax my grown ass twin sister into getting dressed, (Do not let this little shit fool you, she is not 14, she is 28 years old remember, her home planet days last 48 hours, (AKA:Not a fucking child.) "You're all set now," I remarked, proudly. I helped her slip into a semi-sheer black off-the-shoulder top with long, loose sleeves that cinched at the wrists. Completing the outfit, she wore baggy black yoga pants featuring large oval cutouts along the sides near her thighs for added comfort.
"You are so cruel I believe in freedom," Maya complained
"You're being a baby, now let's go talk to the spirit"
"Na uhh"
"THE FUCK YOU MEAN NA UHH! We are going to do this"
"Na uhh~"
"THE FUCK THAT EVEN MEAN, NA UHH!"
"Na uhh I don't wanna" Maya crossed her arms and looked away from me in a pout
"No what, I don't have to argue with you. I wonder how Hamartia will feel seeing you act like a child?"
A tremor of fear flashed across Maya's face as she turned towards me. "Why do you know that name?" she stammered out, her voice barely more than a whisper.
I let my lips curl into a wicked grin before responding, "I have learned many secrets about you and her. Griffin becomes quite the chatterbox when she's drunk." I chuckled darkly. "And Hamartia? She adores you enough to provide me with direct access to her, just in case anything happens to you." Maya swallowed hard, finally relenting. "Alright, alright… it's not that big of a deal," she muttered under her breath as she rose from her seat. Slipping on a pair of shoes, she promptly exited without any further protestations.
Manipulating someone using their loved ones is surprisingly easy. Once I stepped outside, I found Maya already engaging in conversation with the Spirit.
"You know where Lucifer is," Maya questioned incredulously.
"Indeed," the spirit replied calmly. It bore an uncanny resemblance to Maya but was composed entirely of clouds and devoid of any clothing or tail. "But I require something in return for such valuable information." The Spirit retorted
Maya nodded slowly. "What would that be?"
"I desire residence on the National Ark Defense," she stated plainly.
"We can definitely arrange that. Just need to make a few phone calls." As soon as Maya finished speaking, one of her soldiers sprinted up to them.
"There's no need for that sir," he panted out between breaths. "The council has already given their approval. – they said to grant her whatever she requests."
"Well then," Maya turned back to the spirit with a smirk playing on her lips. "It seems like you've got your wish fulfilled. Now tell us what we want to know."
"Lucifer is at the planet's core, causing havoc in the homes of other spirits and stealing their energy."
"Thank you for your cooperation. Timid will escort you to a ship bound for NAD, where you'll be accommodated in my quarters," Maya offered.
"No need for the ship. I can teleport there." The spirit placed a hand on Maya's shoulder and vanished into thin air. For the first time, Maya seemed to exude an air of professionalism.
"So, what's our next move, Maya?" I asked. She struck a dramatic pose against the backdrop of the setting red sun, pointing one finger skyward while resting her other hand on her hip.
"We're diving into the Greek's core, to kill the god of destruction!" she declared resolutely.
"Sounds like a plan," I agreed with a nod.
Maya
Acuti's voice boomed through the intercom, commanding the crew to ready themselves to dive into the planet, Meanwhile, I swiftly transmitted urgent orders to the Ark Angel, halting any ongoing negotiations and instructing an immediate return to base.
"Awaiting further orders" she said, bowing her head behind me. She wore; a button-up shirt with a golden tie along with black thigh high and some leather skirt. Not really practical if you asked me but do what makes you comfortable. I told her to be on standby.
"Anything else MS"
"Guard our warships and tell my men to get to their battle stations"
"Got it MS"
I exited the deck and made my way to the command center. It was a throne room surrounded by Calist or maybe mixed breeds, because they had hands and cloud hair like the spirit I just talked to. They all were at computers.
In front of me stood a bridge that sat above the staff below leading to a throne. Without hesitation, I slouched back on the crimson throne. Before me sat a series of screens allowing me to see every angle of my ship and the two others in the fleet.
"Right ma'am, we are ready to dive," a Calist informed from down below
"Bet dive towards the Greek core" I responded pointing my finger forward
With a deafening wail similar to a whale's song, three imposing warships plunged into the emerald depths. Racing at a speed of 180 meters per minute, we swiftly descended to the ocean floor. Utilizing advanced laser technology, we carved a colossal cavity that guided us towards the planet's core, creating a waterfall. Upon arrival.
A nightmarish scene unfolded – the once vibrant landscape now cloaked in fiery red hues, with a desolate city lying in ruins before us. Piercing screams pierced the air as demonic creatures mercilessly preyed on innocent souls. Taking swift action, I dispatched my soldiers to rescue as many lives as possible while urgently contacting the council for assistance through my communication device. Stepping onto the desecrated ground, heart-wrenching scenes played out before me – grieving mothers clutching their lifeless children as their forms dissolved into stardust. The streets became a river of bodies. I was overwhelmed by the sight before me and I could feel nausea, clawing at my insides.
Ho-how can anyone do something like this? I thought to myself. Back during the great war, I never fought in civilian target zones, so seeing innocent people die in front of me was completely new, especially in this amount.
But my soldiers were unfazed they left to go save lives. I need to follow their example; I lifted my head as the council picked up.
"what's the situation" Queen Patra picked up
"Genocide on the spirits. We're working to save as many as possible at the moment"
"Good, we will send reinforcements to you now. In the meantime, keep doing what you are doing"
"Got it" I hung up
"Maya, are you gonna be, ok?" Acuti asked as she walked up behind me.
"Yeah… I-I will be fine"
"You sure? If it's too much, I can handle things out here"
"Yeah, I will be fine, let's just get this over with"
As I looked up into the red sky, I couldn't help but think about Hamartia. She pleaded and cried for me not to go alone. I hope she's doing ok.
Acuti commanded some of the engineers aboard the ships to prepare heavy artillery. After that, she returned to my side.
"Alrighty twin, let's find the source of this chaos" Acuti whispered, her breath tickling my ear as she leaned her weight onto my shoulder.
Our newfound abilities from our halos allowed us to manipulate the energy surrounding us effortlessly, allowing us to fly. As we shot across the crimson sky, our passage left shimmering golden trails behind us, contrasting starkly against the cityscape below. The architecture of the city resembled ancient Greece structures. Soon our flight was abruptly interrupted by the appearance of a sinister creature with dark black wings. Its humanoid form seemed to glitch like a video game, sending shivers down my spine. Reacting swiftly, I unleashed a devastating flying roundhouse kick that cleaved the creature in two without hesitation. Gasping for air, a sinister voice whispered in my head "You're too weak.". Just as I attempted to steady myself, a brutal blow struck my abdomen, propelling me uncontrollably towards the city. The impact obliterated a fragile clay temple nearby. Acuti's eyes widened in horror as the monstrous entity before us grotesquely regenerated, its right arm expanding into a massive fist. Every muscle in its body convulsed erratically, resembling a glitch in reality itself.
"What the hell are you?!"
Acuti asked the creature. It didn't respond. Five others ascended from the sky.
"Looks like I got my work cut out for me" Acuti said, whipping out her rifle that she carried on her back. It was an M1 Garand, but the once steel parts of it were now gold. This was not your ordinary gun. You see, it's as powerful as its user with one shot; she left a blinding golden explosion in the sky, eliminating all the creatures.
"Damn, overkill. Don't you think?" I said, flying up from the wreckage without a scratch on my body.
"I thought you were knocked out?" Acuti responded.
"I guess our bodies are a lot more resilient, huh?"
"I guess so"
And with that, we continued across the sky until we found a giant black hole but it didn't absorb anything, but it was producing more of those creatures we fought before, it was so big we could not see around it, if I had to take a guess of how big it was; it was about (148,300) acres, the city itself was about. (2.602 billion) acres
We charged an attack to eliminate the black hole. The attack itself was equivalent to (100) megatons of TNT
Once releasing, a blinding light that lit up the red rocky sky causing pieces of the sky to crumble into the city. Once the smoke cleared, it was completely unfazed.
"Shit!"
"What the hell?"
Acuti and I reacted. As more of those creatures from before, swarmed out of the black hole. It was like we shook a wasp nest.
With Excalibur, me and Acuti killed them with ease. As we just finished up dispatching those creatures, water fell from the heavens.
A giant ship moved through the waterfall and five others followed. They were carriers and other warships, the fleet was so big, they could easily take back the city. Fighter jets and locus swarmed the sky, bombing different parts of the city.
On the sides of me and Acuti's ear we had small, tiny earbuds that helped us communicate with other generals and commanders around, "Alright Dreamer backups here, you can go, we can handle the rest." A man's voice slightly static shot through our ear buds.
"Alright thank you commander C, wish you luck" I responded, but then another contact came through, "This is Ms. Dreamer."
Under my mother's orders I left to the surface to kill the false gods complicit in Lucifer's plot to sacrifice everyone on the planet, to become GOD. The council figured out Lucifer's plan when they saw an unnatural amount of stardust formed in the atmosphere. Me and Acuti ascended to the surface, leaving on separate paths to locate our targets: Acuti left to confront Artemis, which I thought was ironic because Acuti Surculus means sharpshooter.
The archangel left to kill Apollo, Athena, Hermes, Gera, and Aphrodite. Meanwhile, I ventured towards the sky, to take on Zeus.
"Before we part ways, Ark Angel, may I know your name?" I extended my hand for a handshake, meeting her nonchalant gaze. She grinned and grabbed hand firmly. "That's a secret, but you can just call me Angel," she replied. Returning the smile, I added, "Well, if this is our final encounter, I wish you nothing but the best."
"Same here, Ms. Maya," she responded.
It was customary to exchange good luck wishes with allies; I had done the same with Acuti before she departed. She had seemed unusually excited about her upcoming battle, trembling with excitement.
As I shot towards Olympus on my mission, a golden city appeared before me, atop of clouds. Without hesitation, I plunged into the biggest structure in sight, shattering its glass. Confidence surged through me as I surveyed the scene. Facing me were Valkyries brandishing maces and clad in peculiar metal armor that resembled underwear? … "Seriously people, first a girl in a bow tie with a skirt so high you can see her ass and now metal underwear, people; we need to do better."
a Valkyrie yelled "You shut up, our beautiful bodies will make you hesitate" in a sarcastic tone I retorted, "Yeah, stay delusional stupid bitches"
"Alright, that's it! Attack!"
They all came running at me with their battle cries, but sadly for them, they were too weak. I completely left all of them unconscious on the floor. And to further humiliate them I used only my right index finger and with one blow to all their stomachs they fell easily. Now to the final floor instead of taking the elevator or stairs I started blasting holes all the way up until I found myself confronted with the giant himself, Zeus.
"So, you have defeated my royal guard impressive," he says as lightning struck around the room
"They were butt booty naked. I am pretty sure a normal person with a gun could have ended them just as easily."
"Uh-umm, I suppose you are right. Even so, it is time for you to die for your insolence, any last words."
"Just a couple. Excalibur here"
When I defeated those nudists, I left my blade down there, just so I could do this.
Excalibur now in the form of a spear from below shot threw his heart, killing him instantly but something was off, instead of his body turning into stardust and returning to the planet's core, like everyone else's body dies, after he died his body began to melt then I heard a voice behind me.
"Ha-ha, oh looks like you figured it out"
It was Hades. He wore a top hat along with white face paint and he had long dreadlocks and a black cloak that covered his body,
"Thought you would be white?"
"Now, now, do you really think that's an appropriate response in your situation?"
"Don't matter to a dead man"
"Such arrogance will end you"
"Enough talk. Time to die and end this mess"
I shot toward him but just as I made it, a blinding light filled the white room and then I heard a young girl's voice
"You're pretty cute, aren't you?"
When the room went back to normal, I fell to the ground next to Hades onto my knees. I noticed a pool of blood forming around me and I couldn't feel my right arm
"Told you, your arrogance will end you."
Hades said before everything went black…
Hamartia
I woke up in the middle of the night clutching my chest with tears in my eyes.
"Maya, why did you have to go…" lightning and thunder struck outside.
That morning I got up with bags under my eyes, Heba had just got done making breakfast This is so dumb our whole job is to help Maya become god not baby-sit some refugee I thought to myself as the spirit sat across from me from the table, on the other hand Griffin was actually having a good time talking to her, sitting next to her.
"The storm simulator was extremely realistic last night; how did you sleep?" Hebe asked as she turned off the stove using flying hands made out of metal,
"Where did you get those?" I asked as I slid a pink pancake into my mouth.
"I've had these, but I never had the chance to use them till now." Heba responded.
As I swallowed my pancake. I can only think. I wish Maya were here…
Angel
After defeating my targets, I left to regroup with Acuti. I found her next to a pile of brown slime. She was looking into the rainy sky, looking like she just lost someone.
"Yo, Acuti, did you finish your target?"
Acuti lifted the rifle that she had stabbed into the ground next to her.
"Yeah, but it wasn't the real deal…" she sighed disappointedly. oh, that's what she's sad about.
"Same here"
Just as we were talking, a messenger drone hovered next to me.
"Maya has been captured return to super carrier B"
"How did she get captured?" I asked.
"We do not know"
"That dummy girl," Acuti exclaimed
"She is being held by Hades in his fortress"
"Where is it?"
"Just beneath Olympus"
"Got it. I'm going there"
"No, you cannot. You are under strict orders to go to supercarrier B" the drone retorted,
"Shit"
"I'll go save her,"
Acuti said, aiming her rifle toward the rainy skies.
"Are you sure about going alone? There will be no reinforcements until a couple of days," the drone responded
"I'll be fine. I've done recon once. This isn't my first rodeo." And with that said, she loaded up her gun and with a *PING* an empty shell hopped into the air. She cocked her gun and flew off into the sky.
Terra
Upon hearing of Maya's capture, I assembled a team of ten soldiers each trained by yours truly, personally, we boarded a drop ship. "Prepare yourselves. We're venturing into the heart, without reinforcements. Stay by my side, and you'll witness the safe return of your friends," I instructed as the ship descended towards Hades' Flying Fortress, my students Each and every one of them possessed extraordinary abilities that set them apart. They are candidates to become king Lamar's guard.
As we approached the fortress, a young girl atop the stronghold aimed her finger like a gun, *FROOOSH!!!* she unleashes a golden beam towards our ship. Despite the attack, our vessel remained unscathed, continuing its course towards the fortress. Touching down in the courtyard, Acuti landed beside us, ready for the fight ahead of us.
"I thought you were told to go back to the ship?" I asked.
"No one kidnaps my only twin," Acuti responded.
I smiled. "Let's do this then."
Valkyries emerged from the stronghold, their armor gleaming in gold, revealing only their thighs and butts. Five of them launched a fierce golden energy assault towards me, which I dodged and countered with a swirling ball of dark purple energy that took down several of them. Meanwhile, Acuti was a force to be reckoned with, effortlessly eliminating ten Valkyries at once with her explosive rifle that acted more like a grenade launcher than actual rifle. After the battle ended, I ordered my warriors to secure the perimeter as Acuti and I ventured inside the fortress.
The interior greeted us with twin colossal staircases, adorned by a softly glowing golden chandelier that cast a dim glow over our surroundings. It felt more like stepping into a lavish mansion than a fortress. At the top of the stairs stood Hades himself, his presence commanding attention and respect.
"I assume you are both here for your companion?" he asked
"Yeah, where is she?" I responded, charging my power around my body, causing the floor to break
"No need for such violence. I'll take you to her"
He walked down the left staircase and opened the floor before us. He walked in and waved his hand to urge us to follow him. He walked us down a dimly lit hallway, and it looked like a hospital with rooms filled with incubation pods.
"Where are we?" Acuti's voice quivered as she clutched her gun close to her chest, her knuckles turning white from the tension.
"You are in my laboratories," Hades spoke with an air of determination, his eyes gleaming with a ambition. "This is where I strive to unlock the secrets of recreating a GOD."
"Recreate, God?" I interjected, my brows knitting together in disbelief as I stared at him, trying to comprehend the insanity he was spewing.
"Yes, it is my dream you see, to create the ultimate being, and what's greater than god himself,"
Hades explained while opening a door at the end of the hallway, he invited us in where we were met with all the gods, in incubation pods, including Maya missing her right arm.
"What the hell is this…?" Acuti yelled, aiming her rifle toward Hade's trembling
"Like I said before, I'm trying to create the ultimate being and to do that, I need sacrifices, but you can have your companion back. I have no need for her, a star born"
Hades responded as he pressed a button on a table nearby, causing Maya to fall out the pod. I used my robotic giant hand to collect her body.
"Now what's stopping us from killing you right here, right now?" I said, surging energy around my body.
"If you attempt to fight me, your friend will die from the shock wave of the battle," Hades responded, tilting his top hat to cover his eyes.
"He's right. Maya's body is too weak right now. We need to retreat," Acuti confirmed.
"Don't think this is the last time we meet Hades," I said before leaving
"Yeah, show yourselves out," he said as the door closed behind us.
We left the building and went into the courtyard, where we met up with my students. They had just called down another ship. We put Maya on a stretcher so she could get some proper medical attention on the ship. Once back on the ship, we got reports that the army stationed in the city had been destroyed. There are no survivors.
"No survivors? What happened down there?" I asked the drone.
"They were quickly overwhelmed by humanoid forces," it responded.
In the dimly lit labs, Hades raises his hands in the air. "The moment of reckoning is upon us," he proclaims. "Lucifer's ascension to godhood will be paved with the sacrifice of every soul on this forsaken planet!"
Angel
From the carrier's vantage point, the planet unfurls beneath me like a canvas coming to life. Massive gold wings made of light stretch across its surface, casting a mesmerizing glow that seems to cloak the entire world. I never knew death could be this mesmerizing… Amidst this breathtaking event, a sudden clamor erupts from the nearby medical facility, breaking the silence.
"You not in fighting shape MS lay back down!"
I walked in to find Maya's right arm replaced with a robotic arm and she was trying to leave.
"I have to go or else not just the planet, but the whole universe is dead." Maya said while putting on a suit of armor.
"Please, we can't afford to lose any of our high commanders," a doctor argued
"But we can't afford to let him finish the rest of his transformation" After she said that she left the room. I followed after her.
"Maya wants me to come with you?" I asked hesitantly, saluting, my hand was pressed firmly against my chest,
"Yeah, I'm going to need all the help I can get"
"Then right behind you, boss"
