It happened in an instant.
The boy woke up with a splitting headache, pain pounding against his skull like something was trying to tear its way out. His vision blurred as blinding light flooded his senses, forcing him to raise an arm to shield his eyes.
This wasn't his room.
No-this place felt endless.
Pure white light stretched in every direction, without walls, without a ceiling, without even a floor that truly felt real. White feathers lay scattered across the ground, drifting slowly as if carried by an unseen wind.
The boy swallowed.
Then he saw her.
A girl stood before him.
No—something more.
Her snow-white hair cascaded down her back, her beauty unreal, almost painful to look at directly. Massive wings spread behind her, each feather shimmering with divine radiance.
His heart skipped.
His breath hitched.
Boy:
*Where am I…? And who is this girl…?*
---
The being before him was a goddess.
Her name was Uzakia.
She possessed a face worthy of worship, a voice gentle enough to make even sins hesitate. Yet despite her overwhelming beauty, the boy felt no admiration.
Only fear.
Raw, instinctive terror.
---
Uzakia:
"Oh! You're awake?! I'm so happy!"
Uzakia spun around excitedly, wings fluttering as waves of soft light rippled through the endless space.
The boy froze.
Cold sweat drenched his back as his thoughts spiraled.
Boy:
*Fuck… did I just get kidnapped? And why does this girl have wings?!*
Panic took over. He curled into himself, shrinking like a cornered animal.
A gentle tap landed on his shoulder.
Uzakia:
"Hello? Is anybody home?"
She tilted her head, smiling innocently.
"I can hear your thoughts, you know."
The boy stiffened.
"My name is Uzakia. I'm a goddess—pretty high-ranking, actually. And no, I didn't kidnap you."
She spread her arms wide, as if presenting the world itself.
"But you are in my world. A world full of magic."
Her tone softened, anticipation shining in her eyes.
"I'm sorry for summoning you like this, hero… but my world is in desperate need of your help."
The boy barely heard her.
His eyes darted around, desperately hoping the scenery would shift, that he would wake up in his bed, late for school, this entire thing nothing more than a vivid dream.
Uzakia sighed.
With a casual flick of her finger, reality bent.
---
What was trivial to a goddess
was incomprehensible to a human.
Light twisted. Space warped. The air itself seemed to fold.
The boy gasped.
Finally—he listened.
---
Boy:
"S-so… why did you b-bring me here?"
His voice shook, but the panic slowly began to fade, replaced by a heavy, sinking dread.
Uzakia:
"Don't be afraid, hero."
Uzakia clasped her hands together.
"Your mission is simple."
She smiled brightly.
"Defeat the Demon Lords!"
The boy's face drained of color.
Boy:
"W-wait—what do you mean Demon Lords?!"
Uzakia's expression changed.
The playful cheer vanished.
Uzakia:
"The Demon Lords are ravaging my world. And soon… they will invade another."
Her gaze locked onto his.
"Your world."
The words crushed him.
"So unfortunately," she continued calmly, "you don't have much of a choice."
Silence followed.
The boy inhaled deeply, forcing his racing thoughts to slow.
Boy:
"How am I—an ordinary teenager—supposed to fight Demon Lords?! One sounds insane enough already!"
Frustration spilled from his voice.
"Unless you're giving me some kind of training arc—but multiple?!"
Uzakia scoffed softly.
Uzakia:
"We don't have time for that."
She raised her hand, divine energy gathering.
"I'll give you a gift instead. Use it wisely."
Her voice lowered.
"You'll face countless hardships. Trials that may break your body… your mind… even your will—"
---
Beep.
A sharp, distorted sound echoed through the void.
"W-k---p… B----m--n—"
The boy's eyes flew open.
Darkness.
A familiar ceiling.
Reality snapped back into place.
It was a dream.
