Chapter 148: Overkill
Hodaka and Mieko looked at each other. Although Kaito had severed her legs, the Hidden Mist leader was still alive.
Their competitive spirits flared, both wanting to deliver the final blow. They immediately charged toward her.
Mieko attacked with shuriken and kunai embedded with explosive tags, while Hodaka attacked with Vacuum Palm.
Kaito noticed his two teammates and also launched an attack. He swung his sword vertically, and a flying slash shot out, aiming to cleave her in two.
Renjiro, who had been watching his students with a smug expression, was instantly stunned! He thought to himself, "She's already lost her legs. We can capture her and extract information from her. Why are you so eager to kill her?"
The other eight chunin were also shocked by the aggressiveness of these three kids.

Renjiro nodded and said, "Yes, once she wakes up, her chakra will be unusable unless I or a seal master removes it."
Kaito saw her chakra being sealed and thought, "I thought only Jiraiya-sama made these for Naruto... But the ones he made must be more advanced, because ordinary chakra sealing jutsu probably wouldn't work on a jinchuriki."
Renjiro looked at the patrol team and asked, "Are there any medical ninja among you?"
A ninja stepped forward and said, "I am. I can use Mystical Palm Technique."
Renjiro stepped aside and said, "Stop her bleeding first."
The medical ninja stepped forward and performed Mystical Palm Technique on her wounds.
Since she had many wounds, it took him a considerable amount of time to stop her bleeding. After stopping the bleeding, he bandaged her body.
While he was treating her, Mieko asked Renjiro, "Sensei, since we're not injured, we can continue with the next part of the mission, right?"
Hodaka and Kaito immediately looked at Renjiro. Renjiro nodded and said, "Yes, we'll rest tomorrow to recover our chakra, and the day after tomorrow we'll head to the Land of Hot Water."
Mieko smiled upon hearing this. Most chunin don't even get the chance to perform an A-rank mission. But she was about to complete her third!
Hodaka and Kaito also smiled. Fighting real ninja was much more interesting than fighting bandits.
Renjiro looked at his happy students and said, "For now, collect their bodies."
They nodded and collected the bodies of the three dead ninja.
After collecting them, they handed all the scrolls to Renjiro, who stored them all into one scroll.
After the medical ninja finished treating the leader, Renjiro asked, "How much longer will she be unconscious?"
The medical ninja thought for a moment and said, "She lost a lot of blood, so she'll be unconscious for at least a few more hours."
Renjiro thought for a moment and said, "Alright, take her to the command outpost, and we'll go with you."
He nodded, picked up the leader, and placed her on his back.
The twelve Konoha ninja ran toward the outpost where they had met Akimichi Seiichi.
Upon arriving at the outpost, Renjiro looked at one of the chunin and said, "Call Seiichi back."
The chunin nodded and left.
Renjiro looked at the medical ninja carrying the leader and said, "Tie her to a chair and gag her mouth to prevent her from biting her tongue and committing suicide."
The medical ninja nodded and entered the outpost.
A few minutes later, Seiichi returned to the outpost with three other ninja.
Seiichi looked at Renjiro and thought, "How did they come back so quickly?"
He looked at Renjiro and asked, "Did you find them?"
Renjiro nodded and said, "Yes, both invading teams have been dealt with. The six-person team all died, and the jonin leader of the second team was captured by us. The rest died."
Seiichi was greatly surprised upon hearing this! The Inuzuka chunin standing behind him blurted out in disbelief, "Impossible! We've been chasing them for over two days and found nothing! How did you eliminate them in two hours?"
Renjiro and his students glared at the chunin who said that.
The chunin realized his mistake and quickly said, "Sorry, I didn't mean it like that."
Renjiro ignored him. Seiichi looked at his subordinate and thought, "What he said was rude. But I wanted to say the same thing! I can understand Renjiro annihilating one team. But how were two teams dealt with so quickly?"
Renjiro noticed his former teammate's expression and smiled smugly. He handed him a scroll and said, "Inside are the bodies of those nine ninja, and the last one is imprisoned inside."
Seiichi sighed and took the scroll. He said in a frustrated tone, "Even at our age, you can still surprise me."
Renjiro laughed and said, "Well, this time it was mainly my students who performed well. However, my students are also tired—can you arrange a place for them to rest?"
Seiichi nodded and looked at a subordinate. The subordinate immediately arranged accommodation for the three.
Kaito, Hodaka, and Mieko all ate a few food pills and then went to sleep.
They had traveled a long distance that day and fought two battles!
