"Girls," Draco greeted them as they approached.

"Draco," they said.

"I guess you haven't been in a good mood the last few days," Draco said as the two women sat down dejectedly.

"Yes," the two girls said and sighed.

Hermione looked at Draco and bit her lip, holding back from asking the question that was on her mind.

'What if it's the same as the others?' Hermione wondered.

Although Draco had never treated her badly, Hermione was afraid that it was all a facade.

After all, her best friend was Rose Potter, the girl who lived, and it could all be an act to get closer to her.

Besides the fact that the wizarding world had already disappointed her, Hermione didn't want to know if her crush was also based on a lie.

It would be too painful.

"Are you a racist pureblood?"

Of course, her friend Rose didn't remain in doubt.

Because of her title as the Girl Who Lived and the fame she had, many people have tried to approach her, and she has been able to learn to distinguish what kind of people they are.

Although Draco has never given her a bad vibe, it could all be an act.

Like her friend, Rose also had doubts. But of course, she wasn't going to let those doubts go unchallenged.

While the girls were sitting down, Draco had turned his gaze back to the book he held in his arms to continue reading.

But Rose's question took him by surprise, and he quickly turned his gaze away and raised an eyebrow.

"What's this all about?" Draco asked, puzzled.

Although he could accept that he was proud of his abilities, he didn't believe he would have acted arrogantly enough to be mistaken for a racist pureblood.

"Well..." Rose said softly, when she realized she might have acted harshly.

The girl who was alive remained silent for a moment, but just then Hermione came to her rescue.

"Due to the situation regarding discrimination against Muggle-borns, a debate arose."

"While we said we would implement laws in favor of Muggle-borns, many pure-bloods argued that Muggle-borns invade the wizarding world and bring their customs with them, something even pure-blood students on the light side agree with."

"Obviously there is a conflict between students who want to support Muggle-borns and those who want to protect their customs."

"Because of this, we realized that it will be difficult to change discriminatory laws."

"Since most members of the Wizengamot are racist purebloods, we thought we'd gather pureblood students at the school to get their support and brainstorm ideas for changing the situation in the future."

"To gain their support, we thought of inviting them to the Muggle world and showing them the things a person without magic can do."

"But most refused, especially the pure-blooded from obscure families."

"Some even implied that bloods ruled over Muggle-borns because they were better, although they didn't say it directly in front of the teachers," Hermione said, and Rose looked at her gratefully and then at Draco, waiting for her response.

What Hermione said was true.

During the last few days, a debate arose among students about the approval of laws to favor Muggle-borns, and the result was unfavorable.

Even her pure-blood friends, who seemed to get along well with Hermione and didn't seem to think less of her, disagreed with the passage of several laws that went against their traditions.

Some even showed that they thought they were superior because they were pure-blooded, although they did not openly discriminate against Muggle-borns.

Listening to Hermione, Draco nodded and understood her point.

From the moment he began to learn the common sense of this world, he realized this fact.

Even pure-bloods on the light side consider themselves better than Muggles.

"I understand," Draco said, and closed the book he was holding before thinking about how to begin what he was going to say.

"To begin with..." Draco said, and the girls began to listen to him.

Rose wanted to know if Draco, the boy she was interested in, was a racist idiot who behaves well in front of her to impress her, and Hermione wanted to know for the same reason and because she was interested in a pureblood's opinion on the current blood status and discriminatory laws.

"All wizards and witches, regardless of their blood status, discriminate at some point."

Draco's words confused the two women and they were about to ask what he meant, but Draco continued and didn't let them ask.

"And I mean that they discriminate because they think less of Muggles."

"Lacking magic, the average Muggle is defenseless against a wizard, and this has created a stigma that makes wizards and witches instinctively think they are better."

"Even those born to Muggles"

"That's absurd!" Hermione shouted.

"Why would Muggle-borns discriminate against Muggles?!"

"My parents are Muggles!"

Hermione's outburst caught everyone's attention in the library, and Hermione realized it from the embarrassed look on her face.

And when the librarian, Mrs. Pince, appeared looking for the source of the commotion, Hermione panicked.

But something strange happened.

When Madame Pince reached them, she walked right past them as if she hadn't seen them.

And when I looked at the students in the distance, they too ignored them and went back to their activities.

"What?" Hermione asked, and saw Draco with his wand in the air.

"Don't get upset or I won't say anything else," Draco said.

"What kind of spell was that?"

"Why didn't Mrs. Pince see us?"

"Is it a spell they teach at Hogwarts?"

Of course, Hermione completely forgot about what had been happening before and started asking about Draco's spell.

"Hermione!" Rose shouted, reassuring her friend.

Hermione realized the situation, and although she was interested in Draco's spell, she calmed herself and let him continue.

Especially because she had said that Muggle-borns like them discriminate against Muggles.

How could he discriminate against his parents?

"Now that you're calm, I'll continue."

"But if you raise your voice again, I'll leave," Draco said, and Hermione reluctantly nodded.

"To begin with, the average wizard or witch knows little or nothing about the non-magical world."

"Even with the Muggle course of study, that won't change."

"I don't know how Mrs. Evans teaches the course..." Draco said, glancing at Rose when he mentioned his mother.

Upon hearing Draco mention his mother, Rose became more attentive.

"...but when I reviewed the material taught in the course a few years ago, I was surprised to find that the course was useless."

"Most books on Muggle studies are centuries outdated."

"They teach about the last Muggle wars fought with swords and arrows, the mass deaths from diseases, diseases that an average wizard or witch would only feel like a cold from."

"And only in the last pages of some books do they show cars as the latest inventions of the Muggles."

"But even then they are compared to magical transportation methods like Apparition, Harbor Keys, and the Floo Network, remaining as a backward and barbaric method of transportation."

"In short, they portray Muggles as backward monkeys who will never be as good as a wizard."

Draco's words surprised Hermione, who is a Muggle-born and had lived her entire life in the Muggle world.

Obviously she knew that they weren't the backward monkeys that Draco claimed those books taught.

But before he could say anything, Draco continued.

"In short, the school is useless for teaching wizards and witches about the Muggle world and has definitely influenced adult wizards and witches to think less of Muggles and resist cultural invasion."

"Even wizards and witches who claim to be progressive know nothing about the normal world."

"Rose…" Draco said, and the young woman paid attention when he called her.

"Many newspaper photos have shown that your family is close to the Weasley family. Have you interacted with the head of the Weasley family?"

When Draco asked her question, Rose remembered and nodded.

"Mr. Weasley?"

"Yes, I know him," Rose said, and Draco continued.

"For example, in the Ministry there's a department that checks for the misuse of Muggle artifacts, and Arthur Weasley is the head of that department."

"Common sense dictates that position should be filled by someone who knows the Muggle world."

"And if it's not a Muggle-born, it should be someone who knows the Muggle world and is an expert on the subject."

"But if you've spoken to the head of the Weasley family, you'll realize the man is completely lost."

Draco's words reminded Rose of the times she had met and exchanged words with Arthur Weasley, and she had to nod in agreement.

"Yes, Mr. Weasley asked my mother about the use of rubber duckies."

"I even remember that he had a collection of plugs and sockets at his house and he would play with them trying to figure out what they were for," Rose said, laughing.

Because her mother regularly took her to the Muggle world, Rose knew a few things and was more informed than the head of department about the misuse of Muggle artifacts.

Under Hermione's astonished gaze, Draco continued.

"See, even the head of a department in the Ministry, who should be one of the most knowledgeable wizards about the Muggle world, is ignorant on the subject."

"If even he doesn't know about electricity, what can you expect from the average wizard or witch?" Draco asked, and the two girls fell silent.

"It's not fair," Hermione said seconds later.

"Muggle-borns shouldn't have to put up with this," Hermione said, and suddenly her eyes widened as an idea occurred to her.

"Why don't we go back to the Muggle world?" Hermione asked.

"If we are not treated well in the wizarding world, then we will return to the Muggle world and leave the wizarding world to the pure-bloods."

"Let's see if the wizarding world's economy can withstand that," Hermione said, and Rose looked at her, confused.

Seeing her friend's confusion, Hermione explained her reasoning.

Faced with discrimination in the magical world, Hermione reasoned that there must be many wizards and witches who would choose to go to the Muggle world because of the discrimination they endure in the magical world.

Guessing that it would be a significant number, Hermione assured Rose that the wizarding world's economy would be severely affected and that pure-bloods would regret the way they treated Muggle-borns.

Understanding what her friend meant, Rose opened her eyes, grasping the implications, and became concerned about the magical world.

But when she remembered that her mother was also discriminated against because it was a Muggle Christmas, she didn't care so much anymore.

"It won't work for long," Draco said suddenly.

"What do you mean?" Hermione asked, and Rose listened as well.

This time looking at Hermione, Draco said.

"I assure you that many Muggle-borns in the future will not return to the Muggle world even when they are discriminated against in the wizarding world."

"And of those who do, most will return reluctantly."

"But why?" Hermione asked.

"If they are treated that way, why would they stay here?"

"Let me ask you this," Draco said.

"You have an armchair and a regular chair"

"The armchair has a backrest and you can lean back without getting tired, unlike a normal chair where your back will soon feel tired."

"But the chair has a faulty spring that constantly pokes you."

"Where would you sit?" Draco asked.

"In the normal chair," the two girls said.

Was there any doubt?

Who would sit in the armchair if they were constantly being poked in the butt?

"That's the normal response," Draco said.

"But in the end, the results will be different from what we expected."
