Chapter 12 - Chapter 12( THE RIVERLANDS MOVE)

Leo Leaves the North

The cold gave way to softer winds as Leo moved south, following hidden trails.

By the time he reached the Riverlands, the Westeros map in his mind was far clearer — thanks to stolen letters, whispers of travelers, and the system's information.

His first target?

House Frey.

Not an open attack, but something far more effective:

Sabotage.

THE RIVERLANDS — LEO CREATES A MARKET REVOLUTION

Leo arrived at a small village near the Twins — poor, sickly, and suspicious.

Starving children.

Farmers with stomach ailments.

Rotten teeth and infections untreated.

Perfect place to begin.

Using the System Store

He purchased:

Basic stomach medicine

Antibacterial soap

Simple disinfectants

A few herbal tonics

Cheap in the system.

Priceless in Westeros.

Leo opened a tiny stall near the marketplace, wearing his hood low.

Within hours, a line formed.

"My stomach pain—gone?"

"My infection stopped spreading!"

"My hands feel clean for the first time in my life…"

Word spread like wildfire.

By week two:

Smallfolk carried the soap like treasure.

Lesser nobles sent servants to buy Leo's goods.

Frey-controlled merchants began losing money.

House Frey demanded to know who was ruining their monopoly.

Leo smiled behind his wooden mask.

System Profit After One Month:

→ +850 Gold Dragons

He was becoming rich — fast.

WALDER FREY — UNDER PRESSURE

At the Twins, Walder Frey grew furious.

"Why… are peasants buying SOAP?!" he shrieked.

His steward bowed stiffly.

"My lord, the nobles want it too. They say it makes their skin softer—"

"SHUT UP!" Walder screamed. "Find this seller. Tax him. Threaten him. I want him gone!"

But no one could find him.

And each week, Frey's profit dipped lower.

THE BOLTON PROBLEM — SOLVED EARLY

Leo headed toward the Dreadfort next.

He had two possible targets:

Roose Bolton — calculating, cold, extremely dangerous

Ramsay Snow — monster in human skin, unpredictable, sadistic

He chose the one who could do the most damage in the future.

Roose Bolton.

The man responsible for countless betrayals.

A key architect of the Red Wedding.

A threat the North would never see coming.

Leo watched him from afar for two days, studying guard patterns.

Roose rarely traveled without his flayed-man banners.

But one night — riding to collect taxes from a village — Roose separated from his main force.

Perfect.

ASSASSINATION — SILENT, CLEAN, NO WITNESSES

Roose Bolton rode with just two men.

Leo dropped from a tree, metal arm shimmering briefly in the moonlight.

The first guard never saw the blade.

The second reached for his horn—

Leo crushed the man's wrist with his metal hand.

Roose tried to flee, spurring his horse.

Leo grabbed the horse's reins, twisting metal fingers until the animal reared.

Roose fell, screaming.

His last sight was Leo's mask lowering toward him.

A whisper:

"History won't miss you."

Silent.

Efficient.

No witnesses.

BACK IN THE NORTH — CONSEQUENCES

With Roose dead, the Dreadfort trembled.

Rumors spread:

"A demon killed the Lord of the Dreadfort."

"A ghost hunts the wicked."

"The North is being judged."

Ned Stark heard the rumors.

He said nothing…

But he remembered the Frey massacre.

The disappearing raiders.

Jon's mysterious sword.

JON SNOW TELLS NED ABOUT HIS DREAMS

In the training yard, Jon finally worked up the courage.

"Lord Stark," he said quietly, "I've… been having dreams."

Ned looked up from the ledger.

"Dreams?"

Jon swallowed.

"Yes. About a man. Wearing dark armor. With a metal arm."

Ned froze.

Jon continued:

"He gave me the sword. I don't know how… but in the dreams he protects me."

Ned tried to remain calm.

Metal.

Armor unlike anything in the Seven Kingdoms.

Supernatural speed and stealth.

Untraceable murders.

Not a sellsword.

Not a ghost.

Something else.

Ned's voice dropped.

"Jon… this protector of yours…

Do you believe he is of this world?"

Jon hesitated.

"…no."

And that frightened Ned more than the assassination attempts.

Because someone — or something — had taken interest in his son.

LEO INFILTRATES KING'S LANDING — MONTH 4

Leo reached the Crownlands weeks before Robert Baratheon would ride north.

King's Landing smelled of rot, sweat, and fear.

Perfect for a ghost.

He rented a tiny room in Flea Bottom under a false name.

At night he infiltrated:

The Red Keep

The Black Cells

Littlefinger's brothels

The docks

The City Watch barracks

He gathered secrets.

Listened to corrupt guards.

Intercepted letters between Varys and his little birds.

Within two weeks:

System Profit from Black Market Sales: +1,200 Gold

Information Acquired: Invaluable

He now knew:

Cersei has a secret that could destroy the realm.

Jon Arryn's death was not natural.

Littlefinger is moving quietly to stir chaos.

Varys suspects something coming from the North.

Leo smirked.

"Good. Let them suspect."

He was already three steps ahead.
