Serena's fingers hovered above the screen, but in the end, she didn't open the message.
She opened WeChat and replied to the unread messages.
A moment later, she tapped into her chat with Sean Wallace. They'd just added each other, and apart from the friend verification, there was only one message.
Sean Wallace: "Serena, Luna Quinn said you're sick. How are you feeling?"
Serena's mind was quick. She more or less pieced things together:
Luna must've overheard part of her conversation with Lauren Sutton and mistakenly thought she was the one who was ill. She'd mentioned it offhand to Sean Wallace, and he believed her.
She typed her reply: "She probably misheard. I'm not sick, but thanks for asking."
Message sent, Serena shoved her phone back into her bag.
The car entered The Groman apartments, circled the garden drive, brushed past a Cullinan parked by the curb, and finally came to a steady stop at Building Six.
