Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: To go on a date, or to make her shy?

Morgan seemed to realize something and let out a cold snort.

Magic gathered inside her staff as she struck toward Merlin, who was in the middle of opening Avalon.

Merlin suddenly raised his head and looked toward the boy at Morgan's side, "Alvin!"

Alvin snapped his head up, his golden eyes suddenly lighting up.

Then, he let out a low, obscure growl.

The destructive magical energy of the White Dragon, full of devouring force, surged out and shattered the magic Morgan had gathered.

At the same time, the world of Avalon had already opened.

Artoria felt a pull dragging her in.

She froze for a moment, then as if realizing something, raised her furious eyes and pronounced each word, "MER! LIN!"

Avalon was the land of fairies. Very, very few people in this world could reach Avalon.

Merlin, Morgan and Artoria were three among them.

Morgan and Merlin both counted as belonging to the category of fairies, whereas the King of Knights could enter due to her identity.

Right now Artoria and Morgan were already at each other's throats. To cool them down, one had to separate them first.

But if Morgan was brought into Avalon, she, as a fairy, had plenty of ways to leave.

So Merlin's decision was to bring Artoria into Avalon.

There was no doubt this was something that would offend her terribly, but at this point Merlin no longer cared.

He already had so many debts that one more did not matter.

It was just going to make things hard for the people staying behind in the palace.

Merlin raised his head to look at Alvin and showed a faint smile, "I'll leave the rest to you, Alvin."

A flash of radiance swept through. The world of Avalon vanished, and Merlin and Artoria vanished with it.

The imperial palace, after the great battle, finally fell completely silent.

A strange quiet spread among everyone.

The Knights of the Round Table stood rooted in place, looking at this dangerous and alluring enchantress. For a moment, no one moved.

Now that King Arthur and Merlin had left, even if they tried to attack, it would likely be pointless.

Morgan raised her head and gazed at the solemn palace, speaking to herself, "I didn't expect that in the end I would return like this."

"You made too big a scene this time," Alvin let out a soft sigh.

"Better than someone who came back without saying a single word, isn't it?", Morgan's voice was icy.

She paused for a moment, then said in a thoughtful tone, "No! I suppose it doesn't count as not saying anything. At least Lily knows you're back."

Alvin's eyelid twitched hard.

At that moment, the domain under Morgan's feet silently withdrew. Her expression became completely natural, as if nothing had happened just now.

She turned her head toward the boy and stared for a very long time, her gaze indescribably complex.

"You really haven't changed at all."

Soon, Morgan gave a sweet smile, "I haven't returned to the palace in so long. Could you walk with me for a bit?"

Her smile was bright and beautiful, but her tone was cold and emotionless.

Alvin: "…"

'Why does it feel like a new CG is about to trigger.'

———

The plaza in front of the palace fell into a strange silence.

Plenty of people were clearly still present, yet not a single sound came out.

By all logic, Merlin and King Arthur had just left, and now the palace was headless. If Morgan wished, she could even seize the moment to take control and grasp the future of the empire.

But… Morgan did not do that. Instead, she actually had the mood to invite Alvin for a stroll?

'At this rate, is she even going to stay in the king's chambers tonight?'

Gawain and the others were a mess of tangled thoughts, but only Mordred had a sincere smile on her face.

Even though the matter had nothing to do with her, just seeing her "mother" get what she wanted filled her with inexplicable satisfaction.

"Alvin, are you alive or dead?", After who knew how long of silence, Gawain's voice suddenly rang out.

Alvin, who had been worrying about whether he was about to trigger a new CG, came back to himself and turned his head.

Gawain and the others were all staring at him. Kay and Bedivere might not have spoken, but their eyes clearly showed what they meant.

It was no wonder. A soul who should have been dead was now alive and well in front of them, and Morgan seemed to have come to the palace because of Alvin.

"A real living person, no mistake."

Alvin quickly showed a smile. Seeing that Gawain still seemed uncertain, he thought for a moment and said helplessly, "But now doesn't seem like a good time to chat. Next time, when both of us have free time, we can sit down and talk slowly."

'Would such a chance really come again?', Gawain silently looked toward Alvin, or perhaps the witch beside him.

He did not know why Merlin had taken the king to Avalon, but one thing was certain.

Starting today, the throne of Britain would temporarily change hands.

The glory belonging to King Arthur dimmed here, and as remnants of King Arthur, how could they possibly cling on?

So Gawain slowly raised the Sun Sword.

"At a time like this you still intend to resist? Sometimes I really don't understand what chivalry is supposed to be."

Seeing this, Morgan let out a soft sigh, then turned and raised her staff.

Magic in the air seemed to tremble faintly.

Just one gesture made Gawain and the others tense up.

Everyone knew Morgan had already become the "Island's Master", her magic unfathomable.

No one knew exactly what kind of power she now held.

But at that moment, a hand suddenly grabbed Morgan's wrist.

The magic she had been about to gather shattered instantly.

"That's enough Morgan."

Alvin raised his head toward the woman before him and said quietly, "You didn't come to the palace to kill everyone, did you?"

"Then what do you think I came to do?"

Morgan tilted her head slightly, examining the boy's eyes.

Alvin looked at her in silence.

Morgan le Fay. She was a witch, but she also looked like one of those goddess-like fairy maidens from mythology. The black magic making up her dress framed her proud chest perfectly, giving her a seductive and dangerously charming air.

Her eyes, bright like stars, carried a faint coldness, like a goddess who had descended to earth to overlook all living beings.

Since earlier, there had been no trace of emotion in the way she looked at Alvin. It was icy, like she was looking at a stranger.

To be honest, back when he first transmigrated, facing Morgan le Fay would have made Alvin nervous.

But now he was completely calm.

Under countless stunned gazes, Alvin reached out and naturally took hold of Morgan's small, delicate hand.

"!!!"

For a moment, every knight present felt their heart leap. Gawain, who had just been ready to die a heroic death, froze and twitched at the corner of his mouth.

This was Morgan le Fay, who had just shown terrifying witch-like power, even Merlin had chosen to avoid her for the moment.

And someone actually dared to hold her hand that intimately?

Even though they already knew Alvin's relationship with Morgan, seeing this scene in person clearly strained everyone's composure.

Bedivere's gaze froze. Kay's expression grew very strange.

Mordred instinctively averted her gaze. Gareth simply covered her face and peeked through her fingers.

Perhaps feeling that being watched by so many people was too embarrassing, Morgan seemed to want to pull her hand back the moment Alvin's warm palm touched hers, like she had been shocked.

But Alvin held her smooth, pale hand more firmly, feeling the faint chill of her skin.

He looked up at Morgan, whose expression seemed a little uneasy, and smiled, "You could do something so bold earlier, but now you're not used to me being the one to take the initiative?"

Morgan le Fay was always like this. Though she looked cold and arrogant most of the time, like a queen who placed no one in her eyes, in truth, when it came to romance, she had little to no experience.

She could kiss Alvin right in front of Artoria, but if Alvin was the one to take the lead, this witch would instead be the one to feel a little uncomfortable, almost like a shy girl.

Although she looked terrifying just now, the overwhelmingly strong but low-defense older sister was actually pretty cute. Alvin quietly watched her, then raised his other hand and gently lifted the veil from her face.

This was the first time Alvin truly saw Morgan le Fay's real face. Her snow-white, flawless oval face was both pure and elegant, yet carried the allure of a mature woman.

Morgan pressed her rosy lips together. A few strands of pale gold hair fell along the side of her swan-like pale neck. Lower down, one could faintly see a red rune forming between her very revealing chest.

That rune glowed a bewitching red that made people want to see clearly what it really looked like.

Sensing the boy's focused stare, Morgan pressed her lips tightly, and the seductive face tinged with blush suddenly showed a hint of coldness.

"Alvin, do you want to die?"

Next came a voice cold to the extreme.

"Sorry," Alvin said with total sincerity.

He paused, then spoke gently, "But before I die, it's been a long time since you came back to the palace. Let me take you out to relax first."

Morgan knit her brows lightly, then looked in a haughty, annoyed way at the hand he was holding.

"…"

After a long silence, she gave a soft "mm".

"Fine, I'll give you this chance."

———

Within an hour after the great battle, the news of Morgan fighting King Arthur had completely spread through the royal city.

The strongest force in Britain, the Red Dragon, and her sister, Morgan le Fay, who possessed the identity of a "fairy", the duel between the sisters naturally caused an uproar.

"King Arthur and Morgan le Fay, although history always said they didn't get along, I never thought I'd live to see their battle with my own eyes," In a quiet alley, an old man leaning on a cane spoke in a low voice.

He was short, his face pale, his lifeless eyes so dull that at first glance he seemed like a dead man crawling up from hell, radiating coldness. Matou Zouken.

"Word from the palace is that Merlin seems to have taken King Arthur away, and her whereabouts are still unknown."

Not far from Matou Zouken, an elegant man with a mustache crossed his arms and looked toward the busy street. In a low voice he said, "Britain has changed."

"For a long time to come, Morgan may be the one ruling the Empire of Camelot?"

Matou Zouken let out a mocking, cold smile, "Looks like the transmigrators won't be relaxing anytime soon."

Originally, the Camelot palace had spread rumors that King Arthur seemed to be easing her policy on capturing transmigrators, and had even met with one of their leaders.

After learning this news, those transmigrators had finally sighed in relief a little.

But now, if Morgan temporarily took the throne, no one knew what would happen next.

Given the witch's personality, things were probably going to get very unpleasant for the transmigrator side.
