Cassandra and Luka sat in the room staring at the door after Ember and Aiden left. Cassandra wasn't sure how to face Luka. Not long ago, she was assuring Ember that no matter what aphrodisiac she gave, it wouldn't work.
Now, she caught sight of the thing in Luka's pant and she knew she was wrong. So very wrong. Her eyes moved to every surface in the room except Luka's face.
"Cass," his voice was low, husky. "Did you tell her?"
Cassandra didn't answer. She knew it was a private matter, and she had no right to say anything. She could only hesitantly nod her head, but refused to look him in the eye.
Luka reached out. His finger touched her chin, and she used it to lift her head. "I'm not angry. I promise." Then he placed a kiss on the corner of her lip. "She helped me. I was really worried about how to keep you with me."
