Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Mark VII Armor Blueprint

"The Winter Soldier?"

Iron Man raised an eyebrow.

He had never heard that name before, and a thoughtful expression appeared on his face. "Why 'Winter' Soldier? Does this codename have any special meaning?"

However, Iron Man couldn't analyze anything without knowing all the facts.

He immediately instructed his AI: "Jarvis… search for all clues related to the Winter Soldier."

"Sir, there is no information about the Winter Soldier within the secure network," Jarvis quickly completed the search and replied to Iron Man.

"Initiate Level One retrieval authority and continue the search," Iron Man said without hesitation.

"This may take some time, please be patient, sir…" Jarvis responded.

"He's a ghost. Over the past fifty years, he's been considered responsible for over twenty assassinations."

At this moment, Black Widow began to introduce him to Iron Man while flying the jet.

"Over the past fifty years?" Iron Man found it unbelievable. "Even if he started missions the day he was born, he'd be fifty now! Is your information reliable?"

"Five years ago, I was escorting a nuclear physicist out of the Middle East when someone blew out my tire near Odessa."

"The car lost control, and we went over a cliff… but we eventually escaped, and the Winter Soldier was there."

"I shielded the engineer, and his bullet passed through me, hitting the engineer. It was a bullet from the former Soviet Union, with no ballistic signature."

"Tracking him is impossible; I've already tried."

Iron Man fell silent after Black Widow's words.

Since Black Widow had encountered the Winter Soldier, the credibility of her words was very high.

Furthermore, as a high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Black Widow wouldn't share such intelligence at this time without a certain degree of certainty.

"So, this Winter Soldier is like Captain America?" Iron Man pondered for a moment and came to this conclusion.

In the past, such a thing would have been hard to believe, but now, they had a man who had been frozen for seventy years and was still alive lying beside them.

Believing in the existence of another similar individual was no longer so difficult.

Nick Fury didn't say much, but his expression was extremely grave. The organization behind the Winter Soldier had attacked them, which was not good news.

It could be said that it caught the intelligence chief off guard.

"Sir, some information about the Winter Soldier has been decrypted."

After a moment of silence in the jet, Iron Man received good news from Jarvis.

He perked up, "Send it all to my phone."

One piece of information after another appeared continuously on Iron Man's phone screen, all related to attacks by the Winter Soldier on various American intelligence agencies, related organizations, and the military.

Iron Man quickly skimmed through them, an astonished expression on his face. "This guy really is a ghost!"

Unfortunately, in the very limited video clips and photographs, the Winter Soldier always wore his distinctive mask.

His true face was never revealed.

It's worth noting that not all information about the Winter Soldier was connected to the network. Some older data was stored on paper or memory sticks.

For example, the video of the Winter Soldier killing Iron Man's parents.

So, Iron Man hadn't found that crucial video at this moment.

For Iron Man, the Winter Soldier was currently just a formidable assassin from a mysterious organization.

That was all.

"Stark, can you send me a copy of that data?" Nick Fury said to Iron Man from the side.

This was naturally no problem. Iron Man immediately instructed Jarvis to send some of the Winter Soldier's information to Nick Fury.

Nick Fury also began to examine it carefully with his single eye.

The jet fell silent for a moment.

"Sir, we're almost there."

A moment later, Black Widow suddenly spoke.

Nick Fury nodded upon hearing this, then stood up and said to Iron Man seriously, "Stark, thank you for your help this time. However, you should leave now. I'll contact you later."

"That's really heartless. I saved your lives half an hour ago," Iron Man spread his hands.

"I'm very grateful for that," Nick Fury said calmly.

"What about him?" Iron Man pointed to Captain America lying on the jet. "Can you two handle it?"

"Stark, you are Iron Man, but that doesn't mean everyone is helpless without you."

Nick Fury clearly had a comprehensive plan. "My people will meet up with me soon. The nearest safe house was activated twenty minutes ago, so there won't be any problems."

This was also the reason Nick Fury intended to part ways with Iron Man here, because they were about to transfer Captain America into the safe house.

And what kind of safe house would it be if its location was casually revealed?

As he spoke, Nick Fury pressed a button, and the jet's hatch opened directly.

"Nick Fury, you and I still have a lot to discuss."

Iron Man didn't insist. After reminding Nick Fury, he zipped away.

Nick Fury's team naturally rendezvoused with S.H.I.E.L.D.'s support squad and successfully transferred Captain America to the safe house.

The medical team was also on their way, and everything was proceeding in an orderly fashion.

The search and rescue of Captain America in the Arctic Ocean was officially concluded.

Of course, these matters were actually Nick Fury's concern and not very relevant to Iron Man. After he returned, he quickly put the incident out of his mind.

Instead, he eagerly took out the hard drive rewarded by the system and began to examine it.

He was truly looking forward to what kind of armor blueprint the system would reward him with.

"Mark 7 armor?"

Iron Man raised an eyebrow slightly.

He briefly scanned the armor blueprint and confirmed that it was indeed his Mark series armor, with the basic design philosophy being the same.

However, it was somewhat more advanced than his current Mark 3 armor.

"The weapon system includes deployable thruster packs, equipped with miniature tracking missiles, and the laser cannon has been converted into a core direct function… This is entirely my design philosophy!"

Iron Man marveled as he looked.

Many of the designs on the Mark 7 blueprint were his current improvement ideas that he hadn't yet had time to put into practice.

Could his previous conjecture be correct, that this armor blueprint came from an Iron Man in another parallel timeline?
