Leonardo's POV
Tony stayed put. His duty was protecting me, and he wouldn't budge for anyone except Veronica.
"Just say it!" My voice came out ice-cold. Something told me this wouldn't be pleasant news. Gossip never brought anything good.
When Tony refused to move, Ashley shot him a deadly glare before spinning toward me.
"Leonardo, you'll never guess who I spotted at the restaurant today with Kayren."
I stayed silent, which only made Ashley push harder.
"Veronica!" she announced, her grin dripping with satisfaction.
"She was at a restaurant?" My tone shifted slightly, though I kept my emotions locked down.
We'd been trying to reach Veronica all day without success, completely clueless about her whereabouts. Hearing she was out dining somewhere caught me completely off guard.
"Absolutely! And she had company - some young guy! They seemed really cozy together. I couldn't figure out their exact relationship, but it definitely wasn't innocent!"
