I was dead set on discovering where my father had gone—I needed to see him, whether breathing or not.
"Hahaha..."
The bastard just kept laughing, that bitter sound cutting through the air.
Even though he clearly knew everything, he refused to talk!
I couldn't wrap my head around how this fraud could still find something amusing. My fury burned hotter.
"Son of a bitch!"
Watching him laugh made me want to beat him senseless again.
Veronica grabbed my arm before I could move. "Getting worked up is exactly what he wants. He's baiting you—don't take it!"
She was right!
I didn't get why this fake Clark looked so damn pleased with himself. Did he just get off on watching me lose it? What kind of sick satisfaction was that?
"Drag him to the station and dump him on Lachlan!"
I finally barked the order. Aarav and his crew moved to grab the imposter, but Cecile suddenly called out, "Hold on!"
