Anderson folds his arms across his chest. That smug little smile I have wanted to wipe off his face since forever is playing on his lips. But with Dani and my father right here, I have to keep it together. I tuck my hands under the table. I already know I am going to hate whatever comes out of his mouth next, and he does not disappoint.
"Perhaps your daughter can tell us." I hate him so much. I hate this entire meal. I mumble something into my plate and the whole table laughs. Was I trying to be funny? I spear a piece of chicken with my fork and shove it in my mouth just so I do not have to speak. "Actually, Pete, I think I might be interested in one of your teachers."
Oh, God.
He is lying. He has to be lying. But she called him Ander. She touched him, and he let her. That is something people do when they are together, and we are not together. I am just the annoying stepsister he wants gone.
