Chapter 2 - A Body in Waiting

A hundred days and my body stays

Stiff like an anthem croaked by parched throats.

I whisper your name in the shades of dusk

But the morning is a hasty wanderer holding no balm

To soothe these trembling thighs that weep.

A hundred long days, still for you I drip.

When my tired eyelids lie smothered by sleep,

I see your long, lean body, fluid in ballet charm ,

Your amber skin, glittery shards of gold dust,

My ink sprints across a page, my body moans.

I miss you, t'is all my body knows.
