Chapter 216 - Looted Village

"Go ahead and do as you please," Akira said gently with a warm smile. "I'll visit you all in a few days."

"After I've given them a proper wedding." Akira glanced affectionately at Hiiragi Chisato, softly placing a kiss on her crimson lips.

"Oh my~! I want one too, in the future!" Furina immediately pouted her little mouth, protesting cutely.

Although she didn't particularly care for formalities like weddings, she still insisted on having everything she deserved!

"Alright," Akira chuckled, nodding in agreement.

After chatting with Furina for quite a long while, Akira finally ended the video call and casually pulled Hiiragi Chisato into his arms.

"My dear lord~" Hiiragi Chisato's eyes were soft and gentle like clear waters as she gazed at Akira.

"Darling, after the wedding ceremony, how about we go to Fontaine for our honeymoon?" Akira smiled warmly, gently stroking her cheek.

"You've worked so hard these days, constantly busy without a moment to rest."

"Yes! Yes!" Hiiragi Chisato responded cheerfully.

A honeymoon! The very thought made her heart overflow with sweetness!

Imagining strolling hand-in-hand with Akira through the romantic and beautiful land of water made her feel blissful beyond words!

"But now... My dear, shall we get some rest?"

Akira smiled playfully as he pinned Hiiragi Chisato gently down onto the bed.

Early the next morning, Akira felt movement from the beauty sleeping in his embrace.

Hiiragi Chisato carefully removed his mischievous hand from her snow-white figure, then got up to dress herself, her cheeks slightly flushed.

"Haa~" Akira yawned, looking toward Hiiragi Chisato.

"Darling, why are you up so early? It's only six o'clock."

"My lord, I have a lot to take care of today,"

Hiiragi Chisato said, yawning slightly. "I need to personally visit Watatsumi Island later. Kokomi contacted me two days ago, saying she'd already prepared two hundred and fifty billion Mora. I'm going to pick it up."

"Oh, is that so?" Akira nodded lightly.

"My lord, please continue resting," Hiiragi Chisato leaned down, kissing Akira softly at the corner of his mouth. "I'll go prepare some breakfast."

"Nevermind..." Akira stretched lazily. "I'm already awake, can't go back to sleep now."

"I have nothing planned for today anyway. Let me come with you to Watatsumi Island," Akira smiled.

"Alright," Hiiragi Chisato nodded happily.

"Kokomi must miss you terribly as well."

"Indeed, it's been a while since I last saw her," Akira sighed softly. That pretty little pink ornamental fish hadn't even reached out to him recently. Could it be she was still upset with him?

"Kokomi didn't dare message you because she was afraid of annoying you," Hiiragi Chisato explained gently. "She confided in me many times how much she misses you."

She tapped her bracelet lightly, displaying the chat records between her and Sangonomiya Kokomi. Apart from official matters, Kokomi's texts mostly revolved around asking how Akira was doing.

"Silly girl, why must she be like this..." Akira sighed deeply.

"She says they are sinners of Inazuma, who once opposed the gods and committed unforgivable transgressions. Even though they're allowed to serve you now, they still live in constant unease," Hiiragi Chisato said sadly.

Akira was silent for a moment. It was true he had once disapproved of Watatsumi Island's past rebellion, but the conflict had ended long ago, so why dwell on it?

"Then all the more reason for me to visit her," Akira said decisively. "Such a silly girl. Have I ever mistreated any of you?"

"Of course not!" Hiiragi Chisato joyfully embraced him. "My lord is the greatest husband in the whole world-I love you more than anything!"

"Hahaha!" Akira laughed heartily, embracing her and kissing her warmly.

After finishing breakfast, the two tidied up briefly and quickly flew toward Watatsumi Island.

As they passed over Yashiori Island, they suddenly saw a village below engulfed in raging flames.

"Oh no!" Hiiragi Chisato's expression instantly darkened. Having now gained three Pseudo-Herrscher cores herself and ascending to the level of an Archon, she could clearly sense the chaos occurring within the village.

The village burned fiercely, with countless villagers screaming desperately. The wounded and dead lay scattered about, their blood forming rivers as the flames mercilessly destroyed everything they owned.

"My child!!" A young woman shrieked, desperately trying to rush into a blazing grass hut.

Villagers around her held her back tightly. Going inside now would only add one more death to this tragedy!

"Let me go! I must save my child!" The woman struggled frantically. She had already lost her husband moments ago-she couldn't lose her child too!

"Damn those accursed Kairagi!" Villagers howled in anguish. "Will no one kill these heartless beasts for us?!"

At this moment, an intense wave of icy coldness suddenly enveloped the entire village from all sides. Astonishingly, the raging fires were instantly frozen solid and then faded away.

Even the burning hot air rapidly cooled down.

"My child! My child!" The people were stunned by the sudden miracle, and the young woman immediately dashed inside, embracing her frightened, sobbing little daughter.

Thank goodness! Her child was unharmed!

Two figures slowly descended from the sky-it was Akira and Hiiragi Chisato.

Hiiragi Chisato had acted swiftly just now, extinguishing the flames across the entire village in an instant.

"It... it's His Excellency! And Lady Hiiragi!" A young villager who had once worked in Inazuma City recognized Akira and exclaimed loudly.

"The Great Divine Sovereign of Heaven?" Many villagers, who spent their lives working from dawn to dusk, weren't familiar with this new deity.

"He is Inazuma's new deity! The great one who protects Inazuma alongside the Raiden Shogun!" The young man who recognized Akira explained excitedly.

"The deity himself has come to save us!"

Although most villagers didn't know the exact title "Great Divine Sovereign," hearing that a god had arrived to help immediately filled them with excitement and hope.

Akira and Hiiragi Chisato gently touched down, frowning deeply at the devastation and bodies littering the scene.

"What happened here?" Hiiragi Chisato's hands trembled slightly. She cherished every single citizen of Inazuma, and seeing them suffer so terribly filled her heart with anguish.

"Haa..." Akira drew in a deep breath, waving his hand lightly. Astonishingly, all the destroyed houses gradually restored themselves to their original state.

Noticing the awed and fearful gazes of the villagers, Hiiragi Chisato stepped forward bravely and announced clearly, "Everyone, please do not be afraid! I am the Commissioner of the Kanjou Commission, and this is our deity, the Great Divine Sovereign of Heaven! Please, can you tell us what has happened here?"

The villagers remained silent, intimidated by the presence of a deity.

Hiiragi Chisato turned to the young man who had recognized them earlier and gently asked, "You seem to recognize us. Where is your village chief?"

"He... he's already dead... murdered by those damned Kairagi," the young man replied through gritted teeth, his eyes filled with bitter hatred.
