Chapter 60 - Chapter 60 Imparting Knowledge

A striking crystal is inlaid in the center of the brass "helmet," making the helmet look somewhat like it has been hit by an arrow.

That is the resonant node of the spirit within the magic circle. If the crystal lights up, it means that the test subject's brainwaves are not on the same frequency as the spiritual fluctuations.

Since the crystal in the middle did not light up after the experiment began, it means that the middle-aged man and a certain spiritual fluctuation in the helmet can be in a state of resonance, and the infusion process can be completed immediately.

The illusory light flashed by in an instant, and the experiment ended in a second. After a brief moment of confusion, the middle-aged man, who was the test subject, was instantly filled with astonishment as he experienced the new knowledge he had gained.

Odis grasped the middle-aged man's hand, activating his "spiritual vision" to observe the man's spirit, mental body, and mental body, while simultaneously using his own spirituality to stimulate the spiritual circulation within the middle-aged man's body. He then smiled and said, "The experiment was a success."

This is a method for testing results that he invented based on his own research and using his extraordinary abilities. It is better than any testing instrument in the world.

Odis then conducted experiments on two other people. The old man's brainwaves failed to resonate with the spiritual fluctuations in the helmet, so Odis forcibly instilled the energy into him.

After the indoctrination, the other party clearly showed signs of pain, but after three minutes, they basically returned to normal, and the indoctrination process was successfully completed.

Odis carried the three test subjects into the "Seven-Pointed Star" magic circle, grabbed a clump of black powder from another porcelain jar, and sprinkled it at their feet.

These are extraordinary powders imbued with spirituality. By utilizing the residual aura of Samantabhadra within the summoning circle, they can briefly open the gates between the underworld and the real world.

Sammonsell, who had been waiting in the underworld, immediately took away the three test subjects who could only make terrified expressions and were crying incessantly, but were unable to scream.

Odis carefully placed the "helmet" on the lab table, a broad smile on his face, and said, "Hehehe, it's a success, it's a success."

Bernadette, who had been observing the whole time, began to ask, "If I'm not mistaken, you just instilled some knowledge into the three test subjects, didn't you?"

This process was not unfamiliar to her. In the "Elemental Dawn," a large number of members were extraordinary individuals who had passed through the "Hidden Sage" pathway. Bernadette often saw the "Hidden Sage" chasing after them and imparting knowledge to them.

Odis's experiment could not compare to the indoctrination of the "Hidden Sage," but the feeling was somewhat similar.

"That's right." Odis smiled and said, "What I instilled in them was the occult knowledge and fighting skills from the 'Fighting Scholar' trait."

Although Bernadette had guessed the result, she was still somewhat surprised: "No wonder you said this is an invention that can change the future. Since it can instill knowledge from extraordinary properties, it can also instill other kinds of knowledge?"

"Not yet. I need to improve it further to complete this operation." Odis smiled as he looked at his work. "If we can find a good medium for storing knowledge, theoretically any knowledge can be instilled."

"This is somewhat similar to the talismans made by the Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom, which are talismans of language or knowledge. However, those talismans are one-time use, while my prototype can be reused. Theoretically, it can be used for several years with just regular maintenance."

Another difference that Odis did not mention is that the spells of the Church of Knowledge and Wisdom require at least supplication to angels to be effective.

Odis's research results didn't require any trouble from the gods.

This is somewhat similar to the "brain implantation" technology he remembered, but it was a rather futuristic technology before he traveled through time, but now it has been achieved through occult methods.

Bernadette solemnly warned Odis: "This technology must never be made public, and it is best not to let others know how it works."

"I know," Odis smiled. "I have given this matter considerable thought and understand your concerns."

"It can instill knowledge and memories, thereby causing a person to undergo tremendous changes."

"This change is likely not positive; some people with ulterior motives may use it to manipulate others."

The "mysterious queen" in the air hummed in agreement: "Good that you understand."

"To be precise, I have no intention of conducting further research," Odis said. "Because further research would be of no use."

Bernadette's tone softened: "Have you come up with a name for this 'helmet'-like test subject?"

"Not yet." Odis hated naming things the most.

"How about calling it a 'smart helmet'?"

Odis readily agreed: "Okay."

Bernadette asked another question about the summoning circle: "The Samensel you just summoned seems to have demigod-level power. How could such a being obey your commands?"

"I already mentioned this in the summoning incantation," Odis replied. "We have a 'mutually supportive' relationship, and he really wants to come to the real world."

"However, with his own strength, it is difficult for him to leave the underworld. I summoned him to let him out for some fresh air. In the process of completing my orders, he can appear in the real world openly without being subject to too many restrictions."

"Moreover, no undead creature can refuse my offerings. They are powders I concoct using spiritual materials such as spider lilies and undead grass. They are like delicious cakes in our eyes, and are the favorite of undead creatures."

"There are no 'dessert shops' in the underworld. Evil spirits who cannot leave the spirit world can only enjoy this delicacy from me."

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

He paused for a moment before saying with some heartache, "It cost me over 80 pounds to prepare just one jar of powder."

Overall, it was still worth it, though, as you got three test subjects for just over 80 pounds.

Bernadette added, "I always felt that your summoning just now was not simply about being able to command him."

Odis smiled, but did not continue to explain.

Indeed, it has other uses as well. Odis once had an in-depth conversation with Samensel, and they would cooperate further if needed.

But that was one of Odis's trump cards, and although Bernadette had some guesses, he wouldn't elaborate.

"Alright." Odis clapped her hands. "I should prepare a delicious meal for myself. Would you like some...?"

Just then, his pocket watch suddenly lit up. This was a signal that an emergency had occurred at the Occult Research Association, usually when members of the association would go to the meeting place to ask for help.

Odiston immediately looked miserable: "Why did they have to send a signal at this time?"

He was already hungry: "Sorry, I have something to do and can't chat with you any longer."

"What's up?"

"I don't know either." Odis said, temporarily covering the "Helmet of Wisdom" with his coat as he prepared to return to Backlund.

Bernadette suddenly said, "I'll take you there."
