Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Witnessing Mr. Fool Stealing

Upon seeing the Kingdom Museum, Oddiston had a bad feeling.

It was October 1349, and Klein Moretti had already arrived in Backlund.

Odis didn't want any exciting adventures in this world, so she never went looking for Klein and other members of the Tarot Club.

But today, while the "Rossel Memorial Exhibition" is in full swing, Bernadette suddenly brought him to the Kingdom Museum late at night, which he did not believe was an invitation to see the memorial exhibition.

At this moment, outside the museum, Bernadette once again appeared to be listening attentively.

Then she turned around and placed her index finger on her beautiful, glossy lips, making a "shush" gesture.

Odis seemed to sense something, and when she opened her mouth again, she found that she indeed could not open her lips.

Finally, Bernadette's fingers danced as if in a dance. The next second, she raised her index finger, and Odis's left leg rose without warning. She raised her middle finger, and Odis's right leg rose. Both legs were completely out of his control.

Oddis was both amused and exasperated. At the same time, he felt the power of a demigod and the wonder of his extraordinary abilities.

Bernadette then made a gesture of pulling up a hood, and a black hooded cloak appeared out of thin air, instantly making her figure appear ethereal.

A black hooded cloak appeared on Odis, concealing his movements. He was then controlled by Bernadette like a puppet, following behind her.

Before them stretched an illusory avenue, shimmering with starlight, which made the walls of the Kingdom Museum appear unreal. They swaggered into the "Roselle Memorial Exhibition," guarded by extraordinary beings from the Steam Church.

Especially at the four corners of the roof, there was a member of the "Mechanical Heart" team standing in each corner. Two of them were wearing seals, but they all seemed to ignore Bernadette and Odis.

Upon entering the museum, a path made of starlight leads to steps leading upwards.

Upon climbing the steps and returning to the real world, Odis found herself on the second floor of the museum, in a replica of Russell's study.

He and Bernadette were at the top of a tall bookshelf, and in front of them was a figure that looked like a spirit, with its face painted with oil paint.

Odis tried to twitch his lips, but found they were out of his control. However, this did not stop him from thinking to himself: It really was Klein! I actually witnessed Mr. Fool stealing!

At this moment, Klein, or rather Klein himself, summoned his own spirit and was reaching for two bookmarks in a book.

Bernadette did not stop her immediately. Instead, she waited until the other person wrapped the bookmark in her spirit before suddenly raising her hand.

Wow~ Wow~ Wow!

Suddenly, a piercing baby's cry echoed through the exhibition hall. The sound was ethereal, as if it came from a very, very far place.

Klein's spirit seemed frozen in place, motionless. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a man and a woman on the top of the bookshelf, their faces covered by hoods.

Bernadette asked sternly, "Why did you only take bookmarks?"

Klein seemed to be struggling, but to no avail. He was completely trapped in front of the desk in the exhibition hall and could not move at all.

"How did you know to get a bookmark?" Bernadette asked again.

A wide smile suddenly appeared on Klein's face, which was covered in face paint.

The next second, his almost transparent figure vanished instantly! The two bookmarks he had encased within his spirit body also disappeared.

Bernadette, who was sitting on the bookshelf, suddenly leaned forward, and Odis could tell that she was also quite surprised.

But in an instant, Bernadette's figure became illusory and disappeared without a trace, and she chased after it following the guidance of her spirit.

After Bernadette left, Odis realized: Brother, where am I? I'm still here!

The calls of the "Mechanical Heart" team members, who had noticed the anomaly, could be heard from afar.

Odis has two choices. The first is to be arrested by the "Mechanical Heart." He has many friends in the "Mechanical Heart," so he doesn't have to worry about being locked behind the "Gate of Truth" and can also get rid of the "Mysterious Queen" Bernadette.

But the "Russell Memorial Exhibition" is missing something, and his presence here will certainly lead to investigation, surveillance, and even interrogation by a demigod.

In that instant, he made a decision: he should run away.

Odis quickly took off his hood, turned his loose coat inside out as fast as he could, and tore open the lining.

Inside the coat's lining was an eight-pointed star magic circle drawn with spiritual powder and liquid. At the center of the magic circle was a small but extraordinary material called "Ahona Crystal," which Odis had acquired at a high price. The other nodes of the magic circle were inlaid with gemstones of various colors.

This was his expensive escape gear, which also came from one of his previous research projects.

As the footsteps drew closer, Odis was about to infuse the magic circle with spiritual energy when he suddenly noticed that a grayish-white mist had risen from the spot where Klein's spirit had just left, and a palm-sized gray sphere had formed in the center of the mist.

At the same time, Odis emitted an illusory light, making the surroundings appear somewhat unreal.

He was slightly taken aback, but then instantly realized that the "Source Castle" had just formed some kind of connection or resonance with the space he could enter every Sunday.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Just as he realized what was happening, a palm-sized gray sphere suddenly flew over and pierced his chest before Odis could even dodge.

After Bernadette left, Odis was able to open his mouth. He opened his mouth wide, about to scream, but suddenly found that he did not feel any pain.

He quickly pulled open his collar to take a look, but couldn't see anything unusual on his chest.

The footsteps of the "Mechanical Heart" team members had already reached the door. There was no time to look closely. Odis immediately infused his spirituality into the magic circle. In that instant, the extraordinary material "Ahona Crystal" of the "Door" pathway helped him open an entrance to the spirit world.

Odis picked up the hood that Bernadette had just summoned and immediately leaped inside.

Amidst the bizarre and fantastical sights, Odis felt as if she were in a tornado, her body spinning and tumbling rapidly. Before she could even clearly see the scene in the spirit world, she was slammed hard to the ground.

At that moment, he felt like his bones were falling apart, but he immediately sat up and vomited violently.

Everything in my stomach was vomited out, and finally even the stomach acid was vomited out, and the dizziness gradually disappeared.

Odis leaned against a street lamp and looked around helplessly. He was about ten kilometers away from the Kingdom Museum and was on a not-so-wide street.

He struggled to his feet, leaning against a streetlamp: "There's still room for improvement."

It's not safe yet; we need to leave the West District as soon as possible.

Just as he was about to leave, leaning against the wall, a cold voice said, "You seem to have quite a few good things on you."

Bernadette appeared from the void not far from Odis: "Unfortunately, no matter how you try to escape, I can find you very easily."

Odis glanced at the stunningly beautiful "mysterious queen": "Did you catch up with the person who stole the bookmarks?"

Come on, let's hurt each other!
