Li Meiran glared at her, his expression twisted with pain and irritation. "You're the one who's possessed," he snapped hoarsely. "Get out!"
"Oh?" Song Yue folded her arms and leaned back slightly. "Now you want me gone? Then I'm definitely not leaving."
Just moments ago, she'd been desperate to escape. Now that he wanted her out, stubbornness took over. Besides, she was honestly curious. He really had looked like he was about to drop dead.
Li Meiran suddenly reached out and grabbed her by the neck.
She shrieked.
The door flew open instantly.
"Let go of her!" Nie Rougang roared.
Li Meiran shoved Song Yue straight toward him, then slammed the door shut again. He collapsed against it, chest heaving, breathing ragged and uneven.
Outside, Song Yue blinked, staring at the closed door in confusion. Then she turned her head toward Nie Rougang, genuinely puzzled.
"What's wrong with him?" she asked innocently. "He looked like he was dying."
