"Whoosh! Nine-Tailed Rasengan!"
Unleashing all his power, Naruto teleported in front of Tsunade, splitting two of his fox tails to cover his hands.
"Boom! Crash..."
The two massive masses of snakes were instantly blasted away by Naruto's two Nine-Tailed Rasengans, and then they began to bleed, each snake's body beginning to show dense, tiny cracks, blood spurting out constantly.
"Granny Tsunade, are you alright? Whew..."
Dropping his hands, which were partially burned, Naruto weakly gasped for breath, turning to look at Tsunade, whose delicate body was trembling slightly less.
"Naruto, you..."
Tsunade's eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at Naruto, "You can actually use the Rasengan with this much power?"
"Watch out!"
Tsunade hadn't recovered from her shock when she saw the composite man, transformed into a white phosphorus serpent,瞬移 in front of Naruto. Her voice was filled with urgency.
"Grandma Tsunade... although the situation is critical. But, I can't dodge! Hah!"
Because the Nine-Tailed Fox hadn't yet healed the burns on Naruto's hands, Naruto could only stomp his foot with all his might, "Earth Release: Earth Tremor Wall!"
"Hahaha, it's useless!"
Kabuto Yakushi's voice was filled with madness, "Die!"
"Swish! Pfft…"
Blood splattered. The incredibly thin and sharp Kusanagi Sword pierced through the Earth Release: Earth Tremor Wall without any resistance, and then plunged into Naruto's chest.
"Naruto!"
Tsunade's beautiful eyes widened, her voice filled with sorrow.
"Hahaha, you little Nine-Tailed Fox brat, you thought you were so tough! To sacrifice yourself and die to protect that woman? How foolish!"
Orochimaru and Kabuto's combined voice was filled with a terrifying madness and mockery.
"You two bastards, shut up!"
"Boom!"
The strike numbed the hand of the composite man holding the Kusanagi Sword. Tsunade sprang out and kicked the stunned composite man, sending him flying dozens of meters.
"Naruto, you must be okay!"
Tsunade pulled out the Kusanagi Sword that was lodged in Naruto's chest, her eyes blurred with tears.
"Heh heh…"
The composite man, lying in the distance, looked at Naruto, who was lying in Tsunade's arms, chest bleeding profusely, and gave a sinister smile, bending two fingers slightly.
"How could this be…"
In the next moment, the composite man was stunned, "The Kusanagi Sword, it's out of control…"
"Naruto, don't die, don't die!"
Tsunade's face was already streaked with tears, which dripped onto Naruto's face.
"Heh heh... Granny Tsunade, this bet... I won... Huu..."
Struggling to open his eyes, Naruto weakly raised his hand and grasped the necklace around Tsunade's neck.
"Heh... Heh heh... Naruto, you're alright, that's wonderful, really wonderful."
Tsunade leaned down, pressing her beautiful face against Naruto's, absorbing the warmth from his face.
"Loo... looked... at... th-this..."
Looking sideways, Naruto was startled, his heart pounding in his chest.
"This, I can't take it..."
Naruto looked utterly bewildered, his face practically burning red.
"Heh… heh…"
Tsunade couldn't stop her somewhat silly laughter, and she stroked Naruto's face again. Then, she turned her head, her expression turning grim.
"Lord O… Orochimaru, that last attack used up too much of our chakra… Let's retreat quickly…"
Kabuto's voice trembled with exhaustion.
"Kusanagi Sword, that Naruto brat, damn it!"
Orochimaru's tone was filled with intense resentment, but after glancing at the unharmed Jiraiya and Tsunade, he could only choose to flee.
"You wait for me… I… I will get my revenge! Konoha! I will definitely destroy it!"
Far away, Orochimaru's voice echoed, chilling and sinister, as if plunging one into an ice cellar.
"Hoo, Jiraiya, let's go."
Holding Naruto, who had the Kusanagi Sword pressed against him, Tsunade called out to Jiraiya, her gaze never leaving Naruto for a moment.
"Well, that was close. But, for Naruto to actually snatch the Kusanagi Sword from Orochimaru, that's unexpectedly powerful..."
Jiraiya was still shaken, but he maintained a relaxed smile on his face.
"Naruto..."
Tsunade, freeing one hand, took off the necklace and placed it around Naruto's neck, "I'm giving you... my hope... again."
Inside the tavern.
"Hmm… Granny Tsunade agreed to become the Fifth Hokage?"
Naruto stared at Tsunade, who was resting her delicate chin on her hand, and his tone was a mix of emotions.
"What? You don't seem very happy…"
Tsunade looked at Naruto with a grin. "Are you disappointed?"
"It's not really disappointment…"
Naruto raised one hand and started counting off on his fingers. "It's just that Granny Tsunade is old, and it might not be suitable for you to be Hokage. Besides, a Hokage… should wholeheartedly serve the villagers and be an upright example. Granny Tsunade, you always maintain this delicate appearance, isn't that deceiving the public about your real age? Isn't it bad to deceive the villagers like this?"
"Damn it! You brat, get out!"
Tsunade was furious, leaning forward and glaring at Naruto, her face almost touching his.
"Uh… fine, I'll go!"
Distracted by the alluring fragrance emanating from Tsunade, Naruto chose to man up and stand his ground.
"Kid, you're strong, but you're still just a kid. I'm going to be the Hokage, so I can't exactly go all out against you, can I?"
Tsunade lazily held up a single finger. "One finger is enough!"
"Granny Tsunade, you're so annoying!"
Naruto shouted, feeling defiant, and charged towards Tsunade. "Then, I won't hold back!"
"Naruto…"
Tsunade called out in a sweet, alluring tone, which jolted Naruto, causing his legs to feel weak.
Clang!
Swiftly, Tsunade swatted away the forehead protector on Naruto's head, then bent a finger, aiming it at his forehead.
"Flick on the forehead?"
The thought of that terrifying consequence made Naruto jump.
"Pop..."
Just as Naruto was about to run, Tsunade leaned forward and kissed his forehead.
"Be sure to become a cool man, okay?"
Tsunade smiled, pushing Naruto's chest gently, her pretty face slightly flushed, "And, become an outstanding Hokage..."
"Oh!"
Naruto quickly looked at Tsunade and gave her a sunny smile, using his hands to cradle the back of his head to hide his embarrassment.
Because he had, once again, seen something he shouldn't have...
