Chapter 7 - Life and death, life-saving nine-colored flower

"Damn it!" Shi Yu felt death approaching and instinctively used his power to resist, wanting to live.

He didn't know what power he was using, but the speed of the Mighty Vajra Palm's descent slowed.

He used Teleportation again to leave his original position, and just as he disappeared, the Mighty Vajra Palm arrived, leaving a clear palm print on the ground in that area.

"Hoo!" Shi Yu gasped, still shaken, feeling as if he had almost died.

"Was that the power of time just now?" Shi Yu's mind trembled as he recalled the power of time he had felt after absorbing his spirit ring.

"What kind of power is this?" Zhao Wuji frowned. His attack had been delayed just now, not because he held back, but because he was affected by the opponent's power.

He felt this boy was getting stranger and stranger, and his killing intent intensified. He was also competing with Shi Yu. Could he, a Spirit Saint, not kill such a young boy?

Zhao Wuji continued his pursuit, each time just barely failing to kill Shi Yu, who always managed to evade him.

Shi Yu consciously began to use the power of time and space movement, delaying time, which slightly reduced the pressure.

But it was still immense; each time was a narrow escape. If he had been even half a beat slower, he might have been a corpse.

"Can you just get lost already?!" Shi Yu cursed angrily, hoping Zhao Wuji would leave quickly.

A flash of inspiration struck him, and he suddenly realized something: if he could Teleportation, could he make Zhao Wuji also perform space movement?

If he moved forward and Zhao Wuji moved backward, wouldn't the distance between them instantly widen considerably?

Thinking of this, Shi Yu immediately tried it. He consciously left a spatial passage in the place he left, allowing Zhao Wuji to Teleportation like himself.

Several attempts ended in failure, until the fifth attempt, when he successfully moved Zhao Wuji back more than twenty meters.

Zhao Wuji's expression became serious. This person could even make him passively perform space movement.

After one success, Shi Yu frequently made attempts, moving himself forward and making Zhao Wuji move backward, further alleviating the pressure.

The chase continued, and unknowingly, more than half an hour passed.

Zhao Wuji still hadn't managed to kill Shi Yu, nor had he even truly attacked Shi Yu.

The opponent's spatial power was simply too slippery, making him difficult to hit.

Shi Yu also gained some understanding of the powers he possessed, using them more skillfully, no longer as disheveled as he was initially.

He tried to use his first spirit ring, which he had just acquired, but found it didn't exist.

His current self, Ten Thousand Years Ago, did not have a spirit ring, but the spatial and temporal powers could be used normally.

Moreover, he felt much stronger than before. His past self, who had absorbed the first spirit ring, should not have been able to use spatial power as he pleased. There was a problem here.

As for what the problem was, he naturally had no time to think about it now, as he was still in a perilous escape.

Zhao Wuji's energy compression still caused him considerable damage. He was very tired now, feeling like he could barely hold on.

But he had to grit his teeth and persevere. Being caught meant death. The instinct for survival drove him to constantly persist in fleeing, not daring to stop.

"You little beast, let's see how you run now!" Zhao Wuji suddenly said with glee.

Shi Yu was still a bit confused, and once again moved over a hundred meters away.

He landed and, following inertia, ran forward. After seeing the scenery ahead, he quickly braked, his face full of panic.

There was no path ahead of him; it was a huge chasm, and going any further would mean falling.

"I can only gamble that this isn't two hundred meters wide," Shi Yu made a decision in a flash, no longer slowing down, but accelerating forward.

Stopping meant certain death; running forward still offered a chance to reach the other side.

He used space movement again, appearing in the air very close to the other side, his body in a running posture in the air, trying hard to get closer to that side.

But he was still more than ten meters from the ground on the other side and couldn't land.

"Ah!" Shi Yu fell under the force of gravity, trying to use the powers of space and time to save himself.

The bottom of this chasm was out of sight, and he didn't know how deep it was. Falling down would most likely mean death.

"Go to hell!" Zhao Wuji stopped on the other side and didn't jump down, decisively using the Mighty Vajra Palm again, wanting to knock Shi Yu down.

Being in mid-air made Shi Yu very uncomfortable, slowing him down by half a beat compared to normal. This time, the Mighty Vajra Palm hit him.

"Zhao Wuji, I will definitely not let you off!" Shi Yu shouted angrily, having formed an unending enmity with Zhao Wuji.

His body was beaten, flesh torn open, almost shattered.

This was a Spirit Saint's attack, which was unbearable for Shi Yu's current physique; once hit, it would be fatal.

Shi Yu's consciousness blurred, and his body fell downwards, still tightly holding the Man Faced Demon Spider's external Spirit Bone in his hand.

Zhao Wuji stood at the edge of the chasm, watching Shi Yu fall, his brows slightly furrowed. What a pity about that Spirit Bone.

"Consider yourself unlucky then, that such a large chasm suddenly appeared," Zhao Wuji looked left and right.

This was a chasm over a thousand meters long, and most of its width exceeded two hundred meters.

This should be a rift caused by earth activity. In the Star Dou Great Forest, which is larger than many kingdoms and duchies, such terrain does exist.

"This kid should be dead for sure," Zhao Wuji muttered to himself, still a little uneasy.

He wanted to go down and personally see the kid breathe his last, but the height of the chasm was a deterrent. If he went down, he might not be able to come back up.

He couldn't fly, and he wasn't willing to take the risk without being sure he could jump back up.

"Why didn't I hear a landing sound? Is it because the chasm is too deep?" Zhao Wuji wanted to hear a thudding sound of landing.

But he didn't hear anything, and suspicion arose in his heart, not knowing what was going on.

The worst-case scenario was naturally that the person might have landed on something soft, which is why there was no hard object collision sound.

The good scenario was that the chasm was very deep, and although no sound came, the person was thoroughly dead.

"This person will be very difficult to survive," Zhao Wuji also stopped his self-conjecture and left here. He needed to quickly rendezvous with Tang San and Dai Mubai; it would be best if they hadn't truly encountered danger.

At the bottom of the pitch-black chasm, which was out of sight, Shi Yu lay on his back, breathing rapidly, having almost truly died.

This chasm was very deep; falling down like this would be certain death.

Fortunately, he possessed the powers of space and time. Just now, stimulated by the instinct for survival, he unleashed his potential, enduring severe injuries to use spatial energy to support himself, acting as a buffer.

The power of time gave him more buffering time, and he finally landed at a relatively gentle speed, not falling to his death down here.

"What kind of rotten luck do I have?" Shi Yu felt like he was dying, his whole body aching. If this continued, he might not live to see tomorrow.

He still hadn't given up. Death is feared by everyone, and he was no exception.

If he could live, he had to strive to live, even if his current situation was so bad that survival seemed almost impossible.

He lay on the ground, using his peripheral vision to look around, wanting to see if there was anything that could help him.

Soon, his gaze was drawn to a faint light; there seemed to be some plant glowing over there.

He tried hard to adjust his body to see clearly over there. Even a slight movement caused agonizing pain; his body felt like it was falling apart.

He still managed to adjust his body and looked more closely. The plant over there was a begonia flower with nine leaves.

The reason for such an accurate judgment was because he saw nine kinds of light, each leaf emitting one kind of light, totaling nine kinds, exactly nine leaves.

"What kind of heavenly material and earthly treasure is this?" Shi Yu didn't understand, but he knew this begonia flower was extraordinary.

After all, how could a normal begonia flower glow, unless he was seeing things?

He stared intently several times, confirming that he wasn't mistaken, and that the begonia flower was indeed glowing.

"I hope this thing can help me," Shi Yu couldn't bother with anything else; he could only hope for a miracle.

He had no other choice now: either wait for death on the spot or eat the begonia flower and fight for a slim chance of survival.

Of course, this could also accelerate death, but any outcome would be better than passively waiting for death.

Shi Yu tried to move towards it, the pain almost causing him to faint.

"My mind is barely working," Shi Yu stopped moving and instead used the power of space to make the begonia flower come to him.

The begonia flower was broken by his spatial power and slowly floated towards him.

As it drew closer, Shi Yu smelled the begonia flower's fragrance and felt only comfort throughout his body, and his pain was somewhat alleviated.

"This begonia flower might really save my life," hope ignited in Shi Yu's eyes. This is the second chapter today. With the new book starting, I hope everyone can click 'collect' and cast some recommendation votes. Your support is my greatest motivation. Thank you very much.
