" I can't get rid of you huh? Oh well. I should call you something else apart from 'hey you' .Um ,how bout , Heyu."
The creature understood him a bit and was glad he gave it a name .Just then, Heyu's tail was blown off.
"Rooaar!!", Heyu cried out.
"Raarkk!"
Turning to the left ,the Isai saw a strange group of creatures.They're bodies seemed to have a grey colour with pieces that kept falling of their bodies and swirling around them. They were slender lizard types with long legs. After the first attack , the rest followed. They were so fast that Heyu couldn't even react. His body kept getting destroyed bit by bit as they moved circles around him. Before he knew it he was surrounded by a torrent of grey dust.
The Isai saw that Heyu couldn't handle it on his own. So he casually walked into the torrent and began destroying them.he then noticed that as he broke them apart, the pieces would regenerate new bodies.
" ( They're regenerative ability is amazing.) "
He changed tactics and went straight for their cores. Suprisingly, there ones formed from the broken pieces had no core. But theey fell when the original with the core was destroyed. The creatures changed targets and went for Isai.
"I've never seen your type before. Are you new evolved too? ", he said as he continued his onslaught.
When theyre numbers reduced to about ten ,he took his time and studied how the strange creatures regenerated theyre tails into new bodies.
"If I just control my body , I can do what theyre doing. I just have to switch the way it forms during regeneration.So if I just...."
He then broke off his arm and slowly regenerated it as he dodged the attacks from his current opposition.His arm was forming again ,but , differently.It had seemed that he made a breakthrough. His arm became a mace. This was more impressive than Lumio's absorption idea ,since he made the mace from his own body. He used the mace to deliver far more powerful strikes to the creatures killing them all.
"...Hmm. So if I want to change it, should I-", he was cut off by the sound of Heyu roaring in joy.
"Oh Heyu, looks like your tails back. Good for you. Also, I've been thinking. You have an identity. I don't. So I think I'll go with, um, I'll go with
Phorm. You know, cause I can form stuff. Pretty smart, right? ",
he said as he repeatedly switched his arm from hand to mace.
" Let's finish absorbing these guys and go.... Something's still bothering me though. Where did those creatures come from. I've been alive for years and I've never seen them before. It's really weird.",
said Phorm with curiosity.
Not knowing. There was a grey stone hidden in a pile of rocks a few meters away. Phorm didn't notice it. When he got far, a small rat type ooki walked into the rock pile.
In a few seconds, it emerged as a huge boulder sized ooki with large stone tentacles on its face, a round body and two large legs. It seems that unlike the green stone which decays organic matter, this grey stone causes spontaneous random mutations in organic matter.
--Back to Bellia , she had just recently split up from Kyso and was on her own. She was currently moving through the ground, heading north toward the day side.
When she got out to rest, there was a giant ooki dead in front of her with Lumio standing on top of it.
"Oh, Lumio, you really are powerful." she said.
"....."
"Hmm, um, hello there. It's me, Bellia.", she said again because Lumio wasn't paying attention to her.
" Hey!!", she yelled.
".... Bellia?.... How did you get here, she said.
" Hmph, why do you ask?"
" I ran for a while to get here, and somehow you caught up. I find it strange.", he said.
" Hmm, well, it's my ability. I can move through the ground at high speeds. ", she explained.
" Really? It seems we all have unique abilities. ", he said.
" Okay. Uhh... Have you, by any chance, met any other Isai.?",she asked.
"Another isai.... Yes, two, actually. They both look like you."
"Really?! Where are they? It's so boring now, all I do is fight and sleep. It'll be nice talking to someone else." she said.
'BOOM'
They suddenly saw the body of one of the new isai landing beside them with her core destroyed.
" There's one.", said Lumio.
" What?! ", Bellia exclaimed.
She ran toward that direction and saw the other isai in a battle against some strange creature. It looked like an isai, but differ. It's body was made of the same material isai were made of, but with a green tint.
The isai couldn't see the color but, they could sense that it wasn't a normal isai because it emitted a strange energy. It also had no horns or facial features. It was basically a greenish humanoid creature.
The creature had the female isai at its mercy. He grabbed her head and its hand began to glow. As she was screaming in pain, Bellia rushed at it with a roundhouse kick which sent it flying. Her furiousity clear in the hit.
When she checked on the isai, her head had crumbled and wasn't regenerating.
" What's going on? Why isn't she regenerating? Her core is intact!"
'RAAAARRRGH', screeched the creature as it leaped at Bellia.
She sunk into the ground to avoid its attack. Like a snake in the ground she moved building momentum. The creature noticed that her position was given away by the distortion in the ground. It launched multiple attacks but, her swimming speed was too fast.
She instantly shot herself out with a kick to its gut and quick tail strike to the chest sending it flying. It got dragged into the ground by the power of the kick and into a massive rock which cracked on impact. When it stood, it's core was visible. And the more shocking thing was that it's core was green.
Another thing that was strange was the fact that it wasn't regenerating.
"( So it lacks our regeneration ability and makes up for it with a strong body.... Bellia's attack from before should've destroyed its body.... And it's core....?),
thought Lumio as he watched their fight.
Bellia dashed at it with another tail strike but the creature dodged by ducking. It performed a leg sweep on her, grabbed her tail and repeatedly slammed her into the ground. Finally, it pierced her gut with its glowing hand and tossed her away. The part that had been hit began to decay. It was much slower though.
Bellia then somehow instantly shattered her body and the pieces sunk into the ground.
" Stupid."
The creature went on all fours and tried to pinpoint her location but she was scattered underground. Each piece moved individually and slowly formed the main body.
Then she shot an arm at it. When it was about to parry, her tail came out of another part of the ground and grabbed its arm allowing the hit.
It continued like that. A series of multiple rapid punches which increased in power and were nearing mach speed with each hit. It's body started breaking after each hit. Finally, Bellia shot out her leg and formed her body on it stomping through its core and sending the body flying to Lumio who just slapped the body away.
"..... I don't understand why you were playing with it. You should've just been serious.", said Lumio.
" I wanted to enjoy breaking it apart."
Looking at the body, the core had been destroyed, but it's pieces still had that decay effect.
"This is the second time I'm seeing one of these. That ability of theirs is quite annoying.", said Lumio.
Bellia walked to the body of the other female isai and went on her knees. She paused for a while then said,
"You were soo young.... ( What is this feeling in my chest.")... I can at least let you live on in me.
With that she absorbed her core.
".... (sigh)... Well, I guess it's just us again Lumio..... Lumio?....."
When she turned, he was nowhere to be found.
" Ugh.... What is his deal? "
