With an enormous exhale I sprinted across the passage hall.

I bolted into a dark room across the hall and slammed the door shut behind me. Sitting firmly behind it in utter silence.
The silence was threatening.
Fuck! "Not here" I murmured.
My heart racing, trembling, panting and sweating all over.
My eyes locked on the door knob. Ears wide and open.
The uninterrupted silence became more dangerous by the second.
Still yet no sound behind. Please don't be a jump scare, I whispered to myself in a form of prayer.
Still no movement, I slowly relaxed my eyes, holding tightly the bag on my chest.
Zling!!! The door knob turned .
Instantly, my soul ghosted me. Holy shitt! I yelled gently crawling away from the door.
The knob continued to turn, until in opened instantly.
And In that split second I could have sworn I blacked out in utter fear.
"What the hell are you doing, Ethan? let's go!". Mia yelled whispering. Hearing the familiar voice I came back to my senses.
Chmmm! Chmmm! Pretending to Clear my thought, "uhhh nothing just you know; chilling around, waiting for you", I said attempting to take a manly stance on the floor.
Hmm Really? Mia responded, her facial expression unfazed. "you realize Chilling involves less sweating right?" she added with a mocking look on her face.
I stood up, shaking. Then it hit me. Mia is calm.
She looked at me then asked. What were you hiding from?. My gaze fixed at her,....di...didn't...didn't you see it? I stammered.
Uhn? She exclaimed, staring at me like I had lost my mind.
Zachhhhhhhhhhhhh! A scream bolted across the hallway from every direction, then the lights began to flicker.
Ahhh! Mia screamed squatting on the floor.
Uhhh... Mi..Mia we should go, I stuttered.
Mia?, I called out to her again.
But she squatted there holding her ears in pain.
Echoing from the hallway Corner in front of us were footsteps. But those didn't sound like that of a person or animal.
Mia we should go! I yelled again as the foot steps drew closer.
The lights flickered more intensely.
Miaa! I yelled out loud, then everything stood still. The footsteps stopped as well as the flickering lights.
Silent as the cemetery, the whole place was. Odd, I pondered still staring at the Corner for anything suspicious.
Then a faint shadow figure moved.
Mia runnn!!!
I yelled at the top of my voice grabbing her hand. Immediately coming from the Corner was something. Running vigorously with out coordination.
Zachhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! It yelled as it chased after us, leaving behind sharp claw marks on what ever it touched.
Ahhhh!!! Mia screamed as the same fear which engulfed me had overwhelmed her also.
What was that?, she yelled running like hell.
How the fuck would I know! I spoke back.
We bolted through another door then came out in another lobby with 2 intersections.
Wait Ethan!, Mia said. Her mouth shaking and eyes covered in tears. I..I...I can't.....I'm scared, she said grabbing my arm tightly.
No shit!, I yelled.
I can't go on my legs are shaking they can't carry me any more. Please Ethan do something! She yelled holding me tight with tear in her eyes.
"It's ok, I got you Mia" I said holding her hand firmly. "You know what, take the bag and run through this path", "I will take the other" I added while passing the bag to her. "Find a way out and I'll draw what ever that thing is away from you ok" I stated whilst running through the passage opposite Mia.
"This is a bad idea" I whispered once more to myself, before slamming on a door by my right to draw attention towards me.
Brischhhhhh!! The creature bashed through the metal door at the intersection like it was cardboard.
Immediately I ran like hell.
I could feel it very close behind me, about to pin me down, when I realized there was another open door just down the lobby.
Swoosh!, I slipped in and jammed it shut.

It smashed constantly on the door but, just my luck it was made from dense steel.
I looked forward only to find a painting at the other side of the room. That's weird....it....it look so familiar.
I stood straight up to have a better view of the room I was in, then realized it seemed different.
At the center sat a big table surrounded by chairs. On it were blueprints, models and paper with drawings written on them. I went closer for more detail but couldn't understand what they were. looking at the paintings on the wall of the room and noticed half of it's walls were covered in ash.
What the hell happened here?, I whispered softly scouring through the materials on the table. Accidentally I pressed a button and coming from the center of it was a huge tube.
In it was a girl.
What? A girl in a tube?, I questioned still trying to make sense of what was happening.

The metal door had a dent.
Shit! I yelled. Need to find a way out right now and fast.

I yelled, trying to find even a slim chance of escape. But I remembered something.
The painting!
No wonder it looked so familiar, it's the symbol found in the dollar bill.
Wait a minute! I said, my eyes moving left and right like I was about to make a big breakthrough.
I turned my focus towards the papers on the table, scoured through them, then...
I understood.
"Son of a bitch!" I exclaimed, looking at the painting on the wall.

This shouldn't be accurate ...I..I...I was right there!
I went towards the Burned up part of the room, trying to find anything that would possibly prove my discovery "false".
Fortunately on the wall was a writing. Possibly imprinted on it by what might had burned it.
Then it all made sense.
I fell to the ground. My eyes covered in tears.

The metal door blew open and at that instant the girl in the tube opened her eyes.
