Tamara: Be serious
Liam: Yes ma'am, there's a kitchen in the suite, let's go so you can see for yourself.
We got out of the car, Liam brought my luggage out and someone came over with a stroller to help us with the luggage, soon we're in the elevator heading for the top floor. Ding! The elevator opened and we stepped out into the suite corridor. Liam opens the door with his fingerprints and we get in then once again I'm wowed. This is really not what I had in mind.
Liam: Come to think of it Tamara, if you had stayed at our rent out property I would have let you stay for free but now you're staying in an empty suite not meant for rent which means I'm losing nothing.
Tamara: thank you Liam I really don't know how to thank you for this.
Liam: I know you can afford your rent, I'm just doing this because I want to. We're friends but I know you can forget me if there's nothing for you to remember me of.
Tamara: lol Liam you are something else, how can you expose me like this, anyway we're this close already and I don't think I'm ever forgetting you again.
I really meant my word because Liam has become the first friend I will share this contact and comfort with.
Liam: That's good, let me show you around then we can go change the door lock from my fingerprint to yours
Tamara: Alright
Two weeks went by smoothly
7:45am I walk into our company dressed in my corporate attire, for us we don't have a uniform but our outfit must be corporate and decent. I head straight to the left building because that's where my working department is. So far so good everything has been moving well except for a few challenges of course. I started with the lower department because our leaders probably didn't believe I was anything special, it wasn't a problem for me as I also want to prove myself and make my ground. There are two departments in the artifin Dp, Dp A and Dp B. So department A is the main Dp while Dp B works as a catalyst helping Dp A to speed things up, which means Dp B works on assignments delivered by Dp A but in everything both departments are very important and up to task. So my work these past weeks have always been easycozy coz it's been formulated by Dp A but who would have thought my fate is about to change. As soon as I enter our DP hall some of my colleagues are already at their desks, there's 12 desks in total for 12 workers and my desk is at the extreme. I greet my colleagues close by while heading to my desk and ignoring some unfriendly glances. I really don't get why people get so worked up for nothing, especially some of the girls and for the boys, I think since I'm a new girl they will want to be good to pick my interest and as time goes on they might as well turn on me if I don't give them good feedback. For so many reasons, this department gives off the college school vibes the competition and comparison is just so unnecessary to me because what's the competitions for when we're all getting the same amount of payment at the end of the day, this is a working place not a talent show, their behavior is just so childish. As I reach my desk I powered up my system, this is the first thing we do to know the work that has been assigned to us. Just as my system powered on, a notification popped up and it is from my Dp leader Mrs. Ben, it reads meet me in office at 8am
It's almost 8am already. I hope there's no problem. I organized my things and went to answer her, I reached her office door and knocked. "Come in" I heard from inside before I pushed the door open and walked but then there's someone else inside. A middle aged man, probably the same age as my leader, looks like he's just waking up or feeling sleepy, I don't know but he looks awful. I greet them politely
Mrs. Ben: Good morning Tamara, have a seat
Hmmm, this is the first time she's offering me a seat in her office. If it were the usual her, she would have already been sending her commands as soon as you open the door. That's just how she is and everyone in our department knows that. I take my seat opposite Mrs Ben on the desk while the other sits on the sofa.
Mrs Ben: I called you here today because your works have been under review for some time now and just like the vice president had said, we found out you have an exceptional skills and we are here by promoting you to the main department, (gesturing to the man) here is Mark Timber, we all call him Mark, he's the head of the main department and will be your leader henceforth.
Mark: Good morning Tamara I have heard a lot about you and it's nice to finally meet you. I appreciate your work greatly and I'm looking forward to us working together.
Tamara: Hmm ok
Mrs Ben: You don't need to say anything, just clear your desk and move over to Dp A.
