Morris's POV
I watched as Linus ended his call and spun around, finding me standing there.
His body tensed before loosening, a smile spreading across his face as he regarded me. "Mr. Welch, you move like a ghost."
My expression remained blank as I demanded, "Which designer are you planning to steal?"
Linus's shoulders lifted in a casual shrug. "Besides Miss Ana Vernon, who else would be worth my time?"
My features darkened. "Didn't I make it clear you should keep your distance from her?"
"Under normal circumstances, I'd listen to your advice. But Mr. Welch, you're forgetting something—I'm a businessman too. Businessmen calculate risk versus reward. The value Ms. Vernon brings far outweighs any intimidation you might offer." Linus stepped closer to me.
The two of us faced each other, matched in stature.
Despite our contrasting personalities, our clashing dominant energies created a suffocating tension.
