Ana's POV
Pauline's voice cut through the conversation inside, bringing it to an abrupt stop.
I rushed to explain, "I just went to the restroom."
Pauline completely dismissed me, shoving the door wide and dragging me inside.
"Aileen, how's your hand?" Pauline's voice was filled with concern as she examined Aileen's red, swollen hand.
"Aileen's the star dancer on the team. What if her hand scars? What will we do then?"
Pauline worried aloud.
"Mom, I'm totally fine. Irvin went to fetch the best medication from the doctor. There's no need to stress," Aileen soothed her.
Pauline's anger still simmered beneath the surface.
She fixed me with a deadly stare. "Are you just going to stand there? Say sorry to Aileen."
The moment I entered, I felt Ridley's piercing gaze locked onto me.
I forced myself to remain composed, pushing down my inner turmoil, and met the eyes of Pauline and Aileen on the hospital bed.
"I slapped her right back, so I won't be apologizing," I stated firmly.
