An hour later, Aaron's private car finally arrived at the New York Headquarters.
When he heard the Agent responsible for the reception say that there were only two people in the private car, but five people emerged from the parking lot, Nick Fury became even more confused.
Wait, why did the number of people increase? Were they teleported?
But if they teleported, why bother driving?
Fury went to the door to greet them while pondering, but he couldn't figure it out.
"Fury, let's cut the nonsense. Where is the item?"
As soon as they met, Aaron went straight to the point.
Fury glanced at the three sisters, who looked like triplets, and then looked at Felicia, who was leaning on Aaron. He felt that something was strange.
Hearing Aaron's question, Fury signaled Coulson to lead the way.
"Please follow me."
Aaron slowly walked, pulling Felicia along, his eyes sweeping over the bustling building.
He said mockingly, "Wow, so many people. Haven't you done anything yet?"
Fury's lips twitched. "I don't have a clue yet. S.H.I.E.L.D. is spread across the world, directly or indirectly managing hundreds of thousands of people. It's not that easy to handle."
"Heh heh."
Aaron didn't believe a word Fury said. But since the other party wasn't talking, he couldn't be bothered to ask.
Whatever Fury planned, there would be fun to watch in the end.
HYDRA wasn't stupid, they wouldn't just sit there waiting to die. He estimated that Pierce already knew about Fury's investigation and had begun to act in secret.
Aaron would applaud whichever side lost or won. He had no goodwill toward either party. It was just a dog-eat-dog scenario.
On the way, the group saw Level Seven Agent Sitwell.
He even greeted Fury and Aaron with a warm smile, looking like a very easygoing Agent.
"He is also one of the Academy Faction." Fury said abruptly, secretly observing Aaron's expression, trying to discern something from his face.
But Aaron just nodded and said nothing.
Fury was a little disappointed. He wanted to use Aaron to distinguish the loyal from the traitors.
After all, Advanced Agents like Sitwell were the backbone of S.H.I.E.L.D. It takes a significant amount of time and money to cultivate such an excellent Agent.
"By the way, Fury, I heard you guys are researching a Sky Battleship?" Aaron said meaningfully.
Fury's expression changed slightly. "How did you know?"
But then he thought, S.H.I.E.L.D. is leaking everywhere like a sieve, it would be a problem if he didn't know.
"That's not possible yet."
"We only proposed the motion this year, and it is currently under development. It will take until at least 2012 before a finished product is available."
The technology in the Marvel Universe should not be underestimated. Even though it was only 2010, they already possessed the technology to manufacture a Sky Carrier.
After two more years, once Tony enters the picture, they will be able to create three long-term orbiting Aerial Bases.
Aaron was not discouraged by the news. He wanted to get a Sky Carrier purely to convert it into a transformer. To put it simply, it was his collector's desire at work.
If he really wanted a vehicle, using Cybertronian technology, it wouldn't be impossible to create a Planet-Sized Mothership.
Aaron could easily provide the enormous energy and resources required.
"How about this? I'll apply to the United Nations right now to build an extra one, and one of them will be yours. How does that sound?" Fury said earnestly, looking as if he were genuinely thinking of Aaron.
Aaron said, "Fury, don't think I don't know what you're planning."
In front of the United Nations, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s name wasn't as effective as Aaron's influence. Even just mentioning his name and indicating a connection to Aaron would give everyone the green light. This was the charm of the newborn. It was also confirmation of Aaron's strength.
Many people already knew that Aaron was a God powerful enough to destroy the world, and also a God capable of creating worlds with ease.
What does it mean when such a God comes to Earth and not only refrains from dominating but also benefits humanity?
He's a big Daddy!
If Big Daddy speaks, they absolutely listen.
If Big Daddy has a problem, it's their problem.
Fury simply wanted to use this opportunity and his authority for personal gain. He would apply for more funding for the project, then siphon off a portion to achieve his goals.
He was the King of Agents, but he was also a human being with emotions and desires.
No matter who sat in that position, facing the enormous flow of funds through their hands, it was impossible to remain indifferent. This is human nature.
Even a robot from Cybertron would sneak some away to replace its own parts.
"I hate it when people cause trouble using my name, you know that, Fury." Aaron warned him.
For someone like Fury, a timely reminder was necessary.
Fury's expression changed slightly. "Naturally, I wouldn't."
He looked regretful. If Aaron had agreed, S.H.I.E.L.D. could have secured at least one billion in disposable funds.
Who knows how many projects they could have done?
Not long after, led by Fury and Coulson, they arrived at a secret room.
A massive white stone, with a square black hole facing forward, stood in the center.
"This is the stone treasured by HYDRA. I forcibly took it from Pierce. But judging by Pierce's demeanor, he didn't seem to value this stone highly." Fury recalled Pierce's expression, finding it quite strange.
Aaron was not confused. No ambitious person willingly remains subordinate for long.
Pierce now held absolute power, so naturally, he didn't want an ancient HYDRA Leader popping up to seize his authority.
He was only forced to maintain a tough facade and keep the Kree Monolith due to pressure from other HYDRA branches.
But if Fury was willing to help him get rid of the monolith, Pierce would refuse on the surface, but inwardly, he probably couldn't wait to hand over this hot potato. It would also give him an excuse for the other HYDRA branches.
Look, I didn't give it willingly, Fury insisted.
As the former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., now that he was out of power, he had no choice but to yield to Fury's tyranny.
Isn't it normal for someone who has stepped down to the second line to speak less forcefully?
Fury couldn't figure it out.
Pierce just smiled and kept quiet.
Aaron didn't bother to explain.
"I'll take the item now."
Aaron placed his hand on the monolith in front of Fury.
