Chapter 8 - Alright, Just Answer...

Niall's POV:

"Where is she?!" I demanded hysterically.

"Niall, calm down. Everything will be fine. She's not a small child," Louis said, trying to soothe me.

"How can she just disappear for six hours?! It's midnight, and she's not here!" I paced back and forth across the room. Louis forcibly sat me down, and I finally lay down on the bed. Eventually, we heard a knocking sound.

"Um, guys, I don't have my keys," Luanna said, giggling.

I leaped out of bed and rushed to open the door for her. She swayed, still giggling, toward the bed.

"Are you drunk?" Louis asked, surprised.

"It's fine, Lou, I had a lot of fun," she laughed.

"We were worried sick, and you were drinking?!" I yelled, and she covered her head, hissing for me to shut up. "Seriously, how did you even manage to get drunk? It's not legal for you here," I asked her, but she was already asleep. I just sighed and collapsed onto the bed near the window.

"I can't believe it," Louis laughed to himself. "Our little Niall is more invested than I thought," he muttered, but I could hear him perfectly. I didn't say anything, though. I felt strange. I'd never felt this way before. I care. A lot. With these thoughts, I fell asleep.

Luanna's POV:

^ Morning ^

I woke up with a slight throbbing in my head. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I looked at the clock, and my eyes widened. It was 7:53 AM, and breakfast was at 8:00. I quickly jumped out of bed and started waking the two of them.

"Wake up!" I screamed. "You have seven minutes to get ready!" I yelled again when they finally stirred.

"What?!" Louis looked confused.

I showed them the clock, and they instantly started scrambling. I ran to the bathroom, brushed my teeth, and combed my hair. It only took me five minutes to get dressed in simple sweats.

"Hurry up, I'm not waiting for you! One. Two. Three! I'm leaving!" I shouted, and they, still struggling to put on their shirts and pants, ran after me.

Once the door was locked, we started sprinting toward the cafeteria, where the coach was supposed to give us all the information. Plus, we'd eat there! I was surprised that I was faster than both of them. We arrived at the team, who were already gathered in a semicircle around the coach. Everyone stared at us strangely because we were the last ones, but according to the clock, we arrived right at 8:00.

"The match starts at 5:00 PM, and we have practice at 10:00 AM, so you'll have a bit of free time after breakfast and practice. Please, whatever you do, do not get injured or do anything that would prevent you from playing. Everything will happen at the stadium, which is about 20 meters from here. I think that's everything," he said and walked away.

Everyone rushed to the food line. We sat down at a table, five of us: Niall, Louis, Josh, Jake, and me. I immediately started eating.

"So, maybe you want to tell us how you managed to get drunk last night?" Josh asked, and Jake chuckled, while Niall and Louis looked at Josh strangely. "I ran into you in the elevator, and you were ranting about how stupid Niall and Louis are, etc.," he explained, and I burst out laughing.

"As the saying goes: 'Drunk words are sober thoughts,'" I laughed with Jake, but the others weren't amused.

"Seriously, how did you manage to get drunk?" Niall frowned.

"At the club, duh," I scoffed.

"But how—" he was interrupted by two guys who approached our table.

"Isn't this Luanna Perez?" one asked, surprised.

"Yes, that's me," I chuckled.

"Looks like you haven't changed in two years," he laughed, looking over the five guys with me. "Anyway, we wanted to say that after your visit here, a lot of things changed, so thanks. Hope we see you around," he winked and walked off with his friend.

The other guys turned to me.

"Who were they?" Louis frowned.

"I have no idea," I said, taking a sip of my drink.

"What were they even talking about?" Josh asked.

"Well, I vacationed here for two weeks about a year ago," I shrugged.

"And they know your name because..." Louis waited for an answer.

"Because almost everyone my age here knows me. Can you guys drop it?" I grumbled.

"Fine, just answer how you got into the club."

"I was let in by Ben, who remembers me perfectly, as does Matt, the club's bartender and owner," I rolled my eyes.

"I'd like to know what you had to do for them to remember you so perfectly," Jake raised his eyebrows, and I just laughed but kept eating.

After eating, I whined, "I want to eat!"

"You just ate," Louis rolled his eyes.

"I want more!" I whined at him.

"How? You ate five pancakes, which should be plenty for someone your size," he argued.

"But I want more, so I'm asking. Are you coming with me?" I inquired.

"Yup," Jake answered instantly.

"Uh-huh," Josh added.

"All right," Louis sighed. I started to stand up.

"Of course," a cheerful Niall replied.

"Maybe you should decline," I said to Niall, patting his shoulder.

"How many times do I have to say it? I'm not fat!" he growled.

"No, just very mad at the scale," I snickered. "Go if you want, just remember that people die from being overweight," I said. He just groaned but said nothing, while Jake gave me a high-five.

We walked to the KFC a few streets away from the hotel. We all ordered different amounts of food. We sat down at one table again.

"You plan to eat all that?" Josh's eyes widened.

"Let the woman eat, she's not fat," Jake answered for me and gave me a fist-bump.

"Whatever you say," Josh raised his hands in surrender.

We spent about an hour talking about trivial things until we remembered we had practice. We quickly ran out of the restaurant back to the hotel. We changed in the room, and I looked good.

We hurried to the stadium, where I realized the match would be held. When we arrived, all the guys on the team checked me out, but eventually turned away. It turned out we were practicing with the Ohio team, so it would be fun.

The coaches called the captains of both teams to meet and flip a coin for who would start with the ball in this friendly match. As I walked towards them, the Ohio team was very surprised. It was very strange because their team captain was very tall. Maybe a head taller than me.

"Isn't this Luanna Perez?" he smiled mockingly.

"Oh, yes," I smiled back at him the exact same way, shaking his hand.

"Guys, this is going to be easy!" he yelled, turning away.

I turned to my team.

"Guys, we're playing against some arrogant jerks who think they're better than us! Everyone knows who's going to win, right?!" I yelled, receiving supportive cheers. I could see the captain was annoyed, but I didn't care.

"Heads or tails?" their coach asked.

"Tails," I chose quickly, and he tossed the coin into the air.

Since it came up tails, I took the ball and went to the correct position, as did the rest of the players. When the whistle blew, the game began, and their captain immediately ran up to me, thinking he could easily take the ball, but he failed. I dribbled past him, passed the ball to Niall, and when I was near the goal, he passed it back to me, and I kicked it straight into the right corner, scoring.

Since the other team called a one-minute time-out, I quickly told my team the tactic.

"Now, always shoot for the right corner, and they'll think that's our only aim. That will confuse them, and during the actual game, they'll guard that corner more while we attack the other."

They just nodded. We put our hands in the middle and shouted, "We're always first!" and ran back to our positions.
