I might be able to form my very own team of Heroic Spirits by pulling Spirit Origins from the Fate Series card pool.
In the future, I could even have the Heroic Spirit team grind for Valis in the Dungeon while I sit back and reap the rewards on the surface!
But to achieve that, Spirit Origins are undoubtedly necessary, and a Magic Crest that comes with 'Heroic Spirit Summoning' is also indispensable.
Levi opened the exchange list for the low-rank and mid-rank Magic Crest exchange tickets, quickly scanning through the lines.
Tohsaka... Makiri... Einzbern... Edelfelt... Velvet...
Some famous, some obscure.
Magic Crests from magus families, some known to Levi and some he'd never seen before, appeared one by one in his view.
There were even Crests from the same family name that, due to originating from different parallel worlds and being inherited by different individuals, had developed in completely different directions, resulting in vastly different inherent magecraft.
About twenty minutes later, Levi's action of flipping through the catalog suddenly paused. He had found his target.
[Magic Crest · Ainsworth · 5-Star: A Magic Crest based on Displacement Magecraft, researched and perfected over 'dozens of generations'.]
[Contained Magecraft/Data:]
[4-Star: Displacement, Reinforcement, Healing, Mana Bullet]
[5-Star: Evocation · Heroic Spirit Summoning]
[Note: Unused Fate Series magic skill books can be integrated into the Magic Crest to form new magecraft. A 4-star magecraft costs 100,000 Valis, a 5-star magecraft costs 1,000,000 Valis, a 6-star magecraft costs 10,000,000 Valis, and a 7-star magic requires 1 Crystal of Law.]
Ainsworth, from the Fate Series spin-off Magical Girl Illya, one of the Three Founding Families of the Fuyuki Holy Grail War in a parallel world. Their dream is to preserve the history of humanity. As for what they did to achieve that goal... well, let's just say that for magi from the Fate world, those who know, know.
In truth, besides the Ainsworth family's Crest, the Einzbern, Tohsaka, and even the Animusphere families all had branch Crests that contained 'Heroic Spirit Summoning'.
However, these family Crests either recorded too little magecraft or required a massive amount of resources to use, which contradicted Levi's goal of earning Valis.
The Ainsworth family's Magic Crest was a better choice. Its 4-star Displacement magecraft seemed useless, but it might come in handy someday.
'Transforming the souls of deceased adventurers into Heroic Spirits and re-summoning them to the lower world, huh...'
That evening, after listening to Levi describe his plans, Hestia let out a heavy sigh.
Although it wasn't the first time, she was still startled by her familia member's [Unknown] nature.
The method he proposed wasn't a 'resurrection' in the truest sense, but it was incredibly close.
It was practically the very miracle the gods were searching for!
But...
The twin-tailed goddess opened her mouth, 'Levi, have you considered something?'
The pale-blond-haired boy sitting beside her gestured for her to speak.
Hestia didn't hesitate and voiced her concerns: 'After a child of the lower world dies, their soul is received by the cycle of reincarnation in Tenkai. In other words, once you use Heroic Spirit Summoning, it's highly likely a phenomenon similar to the gods' descent to the lower world will occur.'
'At that point, your situation can no longer be hidden.'
Levi admitted that he hadn't considered this point.
'Also, since the Heroic Spirits' true identities are deceased adventurers, unless you can specifically summon the souls of adventurers who didn't belong to Orario, their appearance will be fine for a short while, but over time, they will inevitably be recognized by people who knew them in life. When that happens...' Hestia paused slightly. 'Levi, what will you do? Will you play the good guy and return the Heroic Spirit you worked so hard to summon to the god of the familia they belonged to in life?'
'As if,' Levi curled his lip.
A Heroic Spirit summoned from the Fate Series card pool, no matter how weak, would have the combat power of a solid Lv.2 adventurer. In some smaller familias, they could even serve as the captain or a high-ranking member.
Even in mid- to large-sized familias, they would be a core part of the fighting force.
Besides, although the item description didn't explicitly state it, Levi was something of a Type-Moon aficionado in his past life, so he was well aware that maintaining a Heroic Spirit, or rather, a Servant, required consuming the summoner's magical energy.
Oh, so I'm supposed to put in all the money and effort, only for some god to waltz over, say the word, and take away the re-materialized Heroic Spirit to easily bolster their familia's strength?
What, do they think the Hestia Familia is easy to bully just because we have few members and are weak?
In any case, Levi had absolutely no intention of being a candle that burns itself to light the way for others.
Hestia knew her familia member's personality well and continued to ask, 'So what do you plan to do?'
'I admit I can't solve the issue of a phenomenon similar to the gods' descent,' Levi said truthfully; he never intended to hide things from Hestia. 'However, I can set up the summoning ritual inside the Dungeon. I'll prepare items to hide their identity beforehand, like cloaks and masks, and bring them to the surface immediately after a successful summoning. That way, even if others notice something unusual, they won't be able to pinpoint me as the target in the short term.'
The twin-tailed goddess nodded. 'Then what about the matter of the Heroic Spirit's allegiance?'
Levi paused for a moment upon hearing this. 'I plan to summon members of the Astrea Familia.'
'The Astrea Familia...' Hestia muttered to herself for a moment before it clicked. 'Are you talking about those children who died unexpectedly in the labyrinth five years ago?'
To help her lover, she had been carefully studying the history of Orario lately and had committed all the major past events to memory.
'That's right,' Levi explained. 'The so-called 'Heroic Spirit Summoning' can use an item the person used in life—a 'Catalyst'—to anchor the summoning target within a certain range. And it just so happens that the weapons of the deceased Astrea Familia members were buried by their comrades on the 18th floor of the labyrinth.'
From the anime he watched in his past life, Levi knew that the goddess Astrea was not in Orario. Currently, only Ryuu Lion, the 'Gale,' remained in the Labyrinth City. Furthermore, she was in a state of confusion about her life, and after being taken in by Syr—or rather, Freya—she was working as a waitress at 'The Hostess of Fertility' pub.
In other words, after successfully summoning the members of the Astrea Familia, as long as he stayed away from The Hostess of Fertility, the situation Hestia had mentioned earlier would likely not occur.
As for the thoughts of the summoned Familia of Justice members... since they called themselves 'Justice,' they should at least be capable of repaying a debt of gratitude.
Levi wasn't asking for much: just for them to keep a low profile for a while until he reached Lv.6, and to help him grind monsters for Valis in the meantime.
After Lv.6, he would be more or less able to fight a full-power Ottar.
At that point, it wouldn't matter whether he hid his abilities or not.
