With a thought, Yuuki caused the extra-dimensional space where he had stored the treasures from the treasure palace to slowly reveal a spatial passage.
In the next moment, a pale green, ping-pong-ball-sized orb suddenly popped out of the passage, making Yuuki's expression tighten in surprise.
He didn't remember storing anything like this in his space!
Instinctively, he reached out to grab it, but his hand passed right through the pale green orb. Only then did he realize: this was not a physical object.
It was a cluster of ethereal magic.
Just like the magic clusters he had seen upon entering the Magic Palace—formed in environments rich with natural magic.
Yuuki's brow furrowed in curiosity. How could such a cluster form in his extra-dimensional space, where natural magic was barely present?
As the magic cluster appeared in the kitchen, Yuuki's senses detected the normally faint, sluggish natural magic around him begin to stir.
The pale green orb quickly turned transparent and eventually dissipated before his eyes.
During the process, the natural magic in the air briefly grew denser as the cluster vanished—but it soon returned to its original state.
If not for Yuuki's keen perception of magic fluctuations, he might not have noticed the subtle change.
"I see… it was diluted?"
Yuuki murmured thoughtfully to himself. Under normal circumstances, this magic cluster was far too weak to affect the surrounding natural magic.
He guessed that it must have been produced by one of the ancient magical artifacts he had thrown into the extra-dimensional space.
With that in mind, Yuuki first closed the spatial passage and released his senses to scan the surroundings.
Mar and the other children had already returned to their rooms. Rebecca was with them, likely telling them a story, so they wouldn't suddenly appear in the kitchen.
Besides, he had already instructed her on the cooking research, so she wouldn't disturb him.
Outside the tavern, it was night. Only a few wandering drunkards passed by, their magic weak—no powerful mages were around.
After confirming nothing unusual, Yuuki relaxed. With a thought, a surge of magic rapidly flowed into the extra-dimensional space.
He didn't yet know the exact properties of these ancient artifacts. To avoid unnecessary commotion, he planned to test them within the space.
However, the space was already packed with treasures; there wasn't enough room.
Fortunately, Yuuki's magic had now reached Third-Domain level, enough to expand the space further.
With a rapid expenditure of magic, the space expanded, consuming a significant amount of energy. Its volume grew from the original 100 cubic meters to about 130 cubic meters.
Satisfied with the available area, Yuuki stopped the expansion. He had no need for excessive space—just enough to move around would suffice.
In the next instant, a spatial passage appeared in the kitchen. With a flash, Yuuki entered and vanished.
Inside the extra-dimensional space, this was Yuuki's first visit. The space was not pitch black. The walls glowed with a faint white light, maintaining stability throughout.
Jewels and gold reflected dazzling light, momentarily blinding him.
Surveying the piles of treasures, Yuuki felt an inexplicable scent of wealth in the air, even though there was no actual odor.
Anyone standing before such a hoard would surely feel a surge of delight.
After a brief appreciation, Yuuki refocused on his task: finding the few ancient magical artifacts he had taken from the treasure palace.
Among the vast treasures, searching for items might be troublesome—but the artifacts emitted magic fluctuations, making them easy to locate.
After a short while, Yuuki reached a cleared area at the edge of the space. Five distinct artifacts were laid out before him:
A yellow box, about the size of a fist.A clay-colored jar roughly a foot tall.A translucent sphere, about the size of a volleyball, floating in midair and radiating soft, multicolored light.A golden sword entirely cast from gold, adorned with jewels, luxurious in appearance.A seemingly ordinary, bronze-colored hourglass, showing signs of age.
Five ancient magical artifacts in total.
The number was not large, leaving Yuuki slightly disappointed.
But on reflection, the fact that they were stored in the treasure palace already indicated they were no ordinary artifacts.
From the Demon Sword's age alone, the Magic Palace had existed for at least 500 years. Ordinary artifacts would have long since decayed.
In reality, there should have been seven treasures. Two others—a Demon Sword and a scroll capable of summoning a Wind Spirit—were already extraordinary, national-treasure-level items.
For these five artifacts to share storage with such relics, they clearly were anything but ordinary.
Yuuki's gaze first fell on the clay-colored jar.
Just then, another pale green, ping-pong-ball-sized magic cluster floated out of the jar. Clearly, the cluster that had escaped into the kitchen earlier had originated from this jar.
In the unique environment of the extra-dimensional space, the pale green cluster didn't dissipate immediately but hovered silently in midair.
Yuuki's expression turned to one of astonishment. He extended his hand, drawing the cluster into his palm with magic to examine it.
It was a pure cluster of natural magic, giving him a vibrant, lively sensation—very similar to the natural magic in the Magic Palace.
"This jar… can condense such pure natural magic?"
A look of disbelief shone in Yuuki's eyes.
