The Watcher studied Ghost in silence.
Across the fracture realm, the broken sky slowly shifted as the massive entity adjusted its form. The countless glowing eyes rotated, each one reflecting fragments of distant worlds connected by the fracture network.
For the first time since it appeared—
The Watcher seemed uncertain.
Not afraid.
But… recalculating.
THE VARIABLE SEEKS TO ALTER SYSTEM PARAMETERS.
Ghost crossed his arms.
"You built the system."
He pointed upward toward the collapsing cracks in the sky.
"You also let it break."
The Watcher's voice rippled through the void.
THE SYSTEM WAS STABLE UNTIL HUMAN INTERFERENCE.
Rook coughed quietly.
"Hey, in our defense, nobody labeled the giant cosmic button."
Ghost ignored him.
"The Omega weapon," he said. "It's making things worse."
The Watcher responded immediately.
CONFIRMED.
Ghost blinked.
"…that was fast."
THE WEAPON DISRUPTS FRACTURE BALANCE.
Rook raised an eyebrow.
"So the thing built to fix the problem is actually breaking it harder."
The Watcher's answer was blunt.
YES.
Ghost sighed.
"Typical."
He turned toward the sky again.
"If Dominion keeps firing Omega…"
The Watcher finished the sentence.
THE FRACTURE NETWORK WILL COLLAPSE COMPLETELY.
Ghost nodded slowly.
"Then we stop them."
The entity tilted slightly.
YOU CANNOT RETURN TO YOUR WORLD WITHOUT DESTABILIZING REALITY.
Ghost smiled faintly.
"Watch me."
A New Kind of Gate
Ghost stepped forward across the fractured plain.
Red and white energy flowed through his veins now—fracture power mixed with Omega energy.
The two forces were beginning to synchronize.
He raised his hand toward the sky.
A single crack responded instantly.
But this time—
Ghost didn't open it.
He rewrote it.
The fracture folded inward, twisting into a stable circular gateway of glowing energy.
Rook's eyes widened.
"…that's new."
Ghost glanced back at him.
"Learning curve."
The Watcher observed silently.
THE VARIABLE IS MODIFYING FRACTURE ARCHITECTURE.
Rook pointed at Ghost proudly.
"Yeah, that's our guy."
Ghost stared through the gateway.
On the other side—
Earth.
The Dominion bunker beneath the ocean.
He could see it clearly now.
Feel it.
The Omega weapon pulsing deep below the surface.
Rook stepped beside him.
"So… we're just walking into the enemy headquarters?"
Ghost nodded.
"Pretty much."
Rook cracked his neck.
"Nice."
Dominion Headquarters
Deep beneath the Atlantic Ocean, the command bunker buzzed with tension.
Technicians rushed between consoles while massive displays showed the global fracture network flickering violently.
Commander Vasquez stood at the center of the room.
The Omega weapon had stopped firing.
But the readings were getting worse.
One of the scientists spoke nervously.
"Commander… something's happening in the fracture realm."
"Define something."
"The anchor's energy signature is changing."
Vasquez leaned closer to the screen.
Ghost's signal had stabilized.
That wasn't the alarming part.
The alarming part was that the fracture lines across the world were reorganizing around it.
Adapting.
One of the officers whispered quietly.
"…he's controlling it."
Before Vasquez could answer—
Reality cracked.
Right in the middle of the command center.
A circular tear opened in the air.
Soldiers immediately raised their weapons.
Alarms screamed.
The gateway widened.
Then two figures stepped through.
Ghost.
And Rook.
The entire room froze.
Rook looked around casually.
"…nice bunker."
Twenty Dominion rifles aimed at them instantly.
Ghost raised both hands slowly.
"Relax."
No one lowered their weapons.
Commander Vasquez stepped forward carefully.
Her expression was unreadable.
"You're supposed to be inside the fracture."
Ghost shrugged.
"I took a shortcut."
The soldiers looked nervous.
Because the fracture gateway behind him hadn't closed.
It hovered there like a wound in reality.
Controlled.
Stable.
Vasquez spoke carefully.
"What do you want?"
Ghost looked directly at her.
"To stop the Omega weapon."
Silence filled the room.
Then one of the officers scoffed.
"You think you can just walk in here and—"
The man stopped speaking.
Because Ghost raised one finger.
The officer's rifle disassembled itself instantly.
Every bolt and screw floating in the air.
The room went completely still.
Ghost lowered his hand again.
"I'm not asking."
Vasquez studied him carefully.
"You've changed."
Ghost nodded.
"Yeah."
She glanced at the gateway behind him.
"The Watchers sent you."
Ghost shook his head.
"No."
"They tried to."
He stepped closer.
"I came because your weapon is about to erase the universe."
Rook nodded enthusiastically.
"Big problem."
The commander folded her arms.
"You expect us to trust you?"
Ghost looked around the bunker.
At the massive machines.
The Omega weapon controls.
The frightened technicians.
Then he answered calmly.
"You don't have a choice."
The fracture gateway behind him expanded slightly.
Red lightning flickered across its surface.
The message was clear.
The Anchor had returned.
And the war had finally reached Earth.
