Mondstadt, night.
Wonder what they'll end up talking about… and whether Lumine's come back yet…
After returning from Inazuma, several days had passed. Su Mo was walking alone toward Angel's Share. He'd originally planned to come with Lumine, but she and Paimon had gone treasure-hunting outside the city, so he was on his own tonight.
Well—not truly alone. The Knights were waiting at the tavern.
Everyone in Mondstadt had been busy cleaning up the aftermath of "Wendi's departure." Once work wrapped up, Diluc generously invited everyone to his tavern for a free meal. If not for that, Su Mo would probably be holed up at home.
Just as Su Mo was picturing the dinner he was about to devour, the system's voice echoed in his head.
Another one? Can't I get one rest day…?
He sighed and sat down on a bench by the street.
[What is it this time?]
[ is currently searching Mondstadt and the nearby area for any items that contain your (Wendi's) power.
Your task: activate the Herrscher of Knowledge card and scam them.
Note: simply rewriting their minds is NOT allowed.
You must also scam: the Knights of Favonius, the Fatui, and the Darknight Hero.
At the end, as the "Daylight Hero", you must give them anti-fraud education.
If anyone refuses… physical persuasion is permitted.
Lastly
Su Mo: "…"
He sat frozen.
This system is getting way too into this whole 'comedy arc'. What next, scamming old antiques too?
[Wait—are there still traces of Wendi's power in Teyvat?]
That would be a huge problem.
[Rest assured,. All remnants have been cleaned by the system.
Good luck with your fraud campaign!]
[…]
Great.
He rubbed his forehead.
I have to scam—
The Knights,
The Abyss Order,
The Fatui,
And the Darknight Hero himself… at the same time?
[Wait—does the Knights even know about the Abyss mages yet?]
[They do not. No one knows of their activity yet.]
Which made sense. The Herrscher of Knowledge could alter memories—but not only that. He'd need to use creativity.
Su Mo sat on the bench, expression blank, brain going into full scam-architect mode.
Outside Mondstadt
"Anything suspicious?"
"Nope. Not a thing."
"Great. Thank the Anemo Archon this mess is finally over…"
Two Knights were patrolling the outskirts.
"ALL EYES ON ME!"
A crisp voice suddenly rang behind them. They jumped and spun around.
A girl stood there—black traditional clothing, golden hair accessories, a red diamond pendant hanging on her forehead, and a tiny monocle perched under one eye. The whole vibe screamed eccentric genius.
"Wh-who are you? What are you doing out here?"
"Me? I am— founder, CEO, and legitimate owner of the Taixu Sword Sect… no, wait, wrong line.
Ahem. I am the president of Chongxu Corporation—Xi Yi'ou—no, also wrong.
Forget it.
I am the Daylight Hero, and I just saved you two from a group of QQ-shaped monsters. Ring a bell?"
The girl placed hands on her hips confidently, though she clearly had memory issues.
"Oh! Oh—right! Yes! Thank you—thank you so much! We almost died earlier!"
"Truly! You saved us!"
The two knights gratefully bowed—because in their heads, memories were already "corrected".
"No need to thank me. But, I do need you to do something."
She motioned them closer.
Meanwhile—Abyss Side
"Did you find anything?"
"No. Nothing relating to that girl."
Several Abyss Mages stood before an Abyss Herald. After witnessing a terrifying girl unleash impossible power days ago, the Abyss Order had become obsessed—they needed remnants of her strength.
And they were certain such traces existed.
"Someone approaches," the Herald hissed, retreating into shadow.
Two Knights walked past, chatting:
"Captain, does that thing really exist?"
"Of course. The Acting Grand Master said so herself. Probably on orders from the Anemo Archon. Just follow orders—and be careful. They say the object is extremely dangerous."
"What kind of object?"
"A cube. A purple-patterned cube. You'll know it when you see it. And keep your mouth shut about this."
"Yes sir!"
The Knights wandered off.
Purple-patterned cube…?
The Abyss Herald's heart thumped.
It exists. It really exists.
We must report to the Prince immediately!
He and his mages vanished.
Meanwhile, the Knights reached Mondstadt's gates again—completely forgetting the entire encounter with the Daylight Hero.
Angel's Share
"Su Mo! You're so late!"
Lumine waved from the counter.
"Got delayed by something. Good thing I made it—would've been tragic if I missed free food."
He sat down.
"Come join us! We're talking about the Darknight Hero and the Abyss mages," Wendi said, pulling up a chair.
Su Mo smiled stiffly.
If only they knew…
Tonight, the scam operation begins.
