"What do you want, Tolu?" Lara asked. She was exhausted, and her fatigue bleeded into her words.
Tolu crossed her arms over her chest.
"I was just about to go and see your husband," she sneered.
A frown crossed Lara's face.
"Why?" she asked.
Tolu smirked and stepped closer to Lara.
"Why do you think so?"
Lara knew that her ex best friend wanted something, but she wasn't sure what it was. Or maybe this was just another attempt to stress her.
Either way, Lara wasn't in the mood to entertain Tolu, so she sighed.
"I don't have time for your shenanigans, Tolu. Leave me alone, please," she stated and was about to walk away when Tolu's hand snaked across her arm.
"Where do you think you're going, Lara?" she snapped.
Lara yanked her arm away from Tolu's grip.
"Don't you ever get tired? You were in jail a few weeks ago. Has your time in the rotting police cell not taught you anything?" she asked, and there was a mixture of anger and impatience in her voice.
