A bullet flew straight into the center of the target board, tearing through the middle. A few meters away stood a tall muscular man with a Desert Eagle in his hand, which had smoke coming from it, and now a few more rounds of bullets were fired before someone tapped his shoulder. The man who tapped his shoulder said, "Yi Zhen, we have a problem. The corruption issue that we talked about has now reached even the higher authorities in the army generals. I have received a notice from the president of China to inform you to form a secret squad to tackle this problem. It has been running our country to ruin for years now, and the president will handle the political aspect, and we have to handle the dirty side of this." Yi Zhen removed the gloves he was wearing and looked at the man and spoke, "Got it, Commissioner Li. What is the next step?"
Commissioner Li instructed Yi to follow him, and they both went to Commissioner Li's office, where he sat down and told Yi, "As I mentioned earlier, you need to form a squad, so the selection of squad members is your responsibility." Commissioner Li handed Yi a set of papers that had names of people. "This list is from our secret intelligence team, which has confirmed none of them are involved in corruption and will die for our country," said Commissioner Li. Yi Zhen flipped through some pages and smiled and looked at Commissioner Li and said, "Sorry to say, sir, but the names I was hoping would be here in the list are not there." "Who are they?" asked Commissioner Li. Yi Zhen smiled and said the names, "Li Wei, Mei Ling, Zhang Jiao, and Chen Xia." The commissioner put his hand on his head and said, "Their names are not there for a reason, Yi. You know how they are—no respect and no regard for the country." Yi smiled and replied, "The mission we are going on is the biggest ever mission and people like them are the best to handle this mission." Commissioner Li sighed and said, "Okay, fine, but take Assistant Cao with you; he will be with your squad and keep the connection between you and me." Yi Zhen nodded, and he and Cao left the office.
Cao looked at Yi Zhen and asked him, "Where are we going now, sir?" To which Yi answered, "We are going to people we will recruit." Cao nodded, and they went towards the car. Cao sat in the driving seat while Yi sat in the passenger seat. Yi Zhen gave an address, and as they reached towards the address, it was a warehouse just outside of the army base. They entered the warehouse, where they could see three people quarreling over weapons and fights, and in the corner of the warehouse there were a bunch of computers and multiple screens and technology materials that Yi had no idea about. Cao looked at everything and asked Yi Zhen, "Sir, who are they?" Yi Zhen smiled and said, "This is our squad, and let's go. I will introduce you to every one of them." Yi Zhen and Cao walked towards the three people that were quarreling, and as they reached near, they could hear what they were quarreling about: who was first while they were shooting at the targets and who had the most bullseyes out of the 5 shots they did. Cao stopped, and Yi kept walking, and he picked up the gun and shot 5 rounds of bullets, with every bullet hitting the bullseye.
Hearing the bullets, everyone quarreling stopped, and the lady on the computer also stopped working and moved near them. Yi Zhen kept the gun down and said, "That settles the argument." The man who looked a bit younger than Yi Zhen stepped forward and said, "Indeed, Captain, that stopped the argument, but I really want to know why you have gathered us here on an urgent notice, and how did you know we all would be here together right now?" Yi Zhen smiled and said, "Cao, let me make your introduction. This young man here is Li Wei; he will be our weapon and explosive expert, and you don't have to be scared of him. He will be chewing on a toothpick, and it just helps him focus, and he was recently suspended because of the disaster that happened in the left wing." Cao came forward and held his hand out to shake his hand and said, "The explosion on the left wing was you; that was amazing, and I am Cao. Nice to meet you." Li Wei looked at Cao for some time, and then he shook his hand and nodded. Yi then spoke again and moved his head and pointed at the lady standing next to Li Wei. "This is Mei Ling, and we don't know what she really looks like because she is a master of deception, and the recent stealing of important documents that had everyone in panic was her, and she was caught and was suspended because of it." Cao nodded his head and held his head up, which Mei Ling took and shook, and spoke, "I was only caught because the captain here ratted on me."
Yi just smiled and then moved towards the lady standing next to Mei Ling. "This is Zhang Jiao. Let's just say she is silent, swift, and deadly. She is the best assassin we have, and the reason she was suspended was because she didn't listen to her commander, and the result of that was they lost the mission and she had to be suspended." Cao did the same and held his hand up. She took his hand and shook it. Yi Zhen spoke again, "Oh, and at night if you see her sharpening a dagger, don't go into panic mode; it's just her ritual, so just ignore it and continue what you were doing." Cao nodded, and Yi continued, "This is the brains of the squad; her name is Chen Xia. Your only work for her is to keep her sweetened milk stock full and help her with social moments." Cao nodded and shook her hand. Yi then introduced Cao and said, "This is Cao; he will be our intermediary between the commissioner and us. Also now the reason I called every one of you here is we will be now going on a mission, which is going to be the hardest one of our lives, and details of everything will be provided tomorrow when we meet the president of our country along with Commissioner Li, and I want every one of you to be ready and be on your best behavior tomorrow." Everyone yelled, "YES CAPTAIN!" and as Yi Zhen was about to leave, Zhang Jiao stopped him and asked, "What's the name of our squad captain?" Yi answered, "We are Aegis Call."
