Chapter 55 - Chapter 55:

At the same time, Captain's Facebook post instantly stirred up a huge storm.

All the keyboard warriors who had been watching Rosy get "abandoned" were immediately slapped in the face, hard. Their eyes went wide with shock.

Who was Captain?

He was the ruler of Alchimie City, the richest man in the world. Not only did he have unimaginable wealth, but his looks were flawless. He was the dream man of countless women. Yet his ruthless, gloomy personality was enough to make most of them back away.

Everyone had assumed that a powerful man like him would kick Rosy away with one swift move. After all, she was just a pretty little woman being kept if President Anderson crooked his finger, beautiful women would come lining up by the dozens. But… President Anderson suddenly posted a marriage certificate and the person on it was the "kept woman" of those rumors: Rosy.

The slap to the face came too fast. No one could react in time.

So it turned out Rosy wasn't a mistress at all, but Captain's legal wife, the true lady of one of the wealthiest families.

"I didn't expect things to flip so fast. Rosy wasn't a mistress, she's President Anderson's lawful wife. Where are those keyboard warriors who cursed her earlier? Have you prepared yourselves for Anderson's wrath?"

The melon-eating crowd trembled in fear. They only dared to gossip, not provoke. Now, everyone quietly waited for President Anderson to come and grab those keyboard warriors by the collar.

"Wow… What's Rosy's background? How did she become President Anderson's legal wife?"

"Congratulations! For him to openly show their marriage certificate, this is real love!"

"Congrats +1."

In just a moment, the direction of public opinion on Facebook completely reversed.

Blessings, shock, and fear filled the page. The keyboard warriors had long been terrified into silence.

If they kept talking nonsense, President Anderson could kill them in a single minute.

...

Richart Family Mansion,

The entire mansion was brightly lit, the chandelier shining brilliantly.

Jason sat in his wheelchair. His handsome face carried an elegant, refined temperament gentle like spring water, yet deep in his eyes was a faint coldness and distance.

"Brother."

Halley walked to his side, a radiant smile on his face.

Jason glanced at him and asked seriously,

"Who is Rosy?"

Halley was startled. He had indeed told Jason about his crush before, but he never expected the girl who treated him with acupuncture to be such a young, beautiful woman.

Strangely… she even looked somewhat familiar, though he couldn't place where he had seen her.

Jason's eyes shifted slightly.

"In the future, you should keep your distance from her."

Halley blinked in confusion.

"Why?"

"Look at Facebook yourself."

Jason placed his hands on his knees. The lights shone softly across his refined brows, his demeanor as calm as flowing water.

Halley opened Facebook skeptically. When he saw Captain's post, he shouted in disbelief:

"The little fairy is actually Captain's wife?!"

Impossible.

The little fairy was only eighteen, while Captain was already in his twenties. It was clearly an old bull eating young grass. Besides, the little fairy was so sweet and soft, how could she possibly live with a demon king like Captain?

The two didn't look like they belonged to the same world at all…

But the two marriage certificates posted on Facebook were unmistakably real.

Halley stared at the screen, completely stunned into silence.

"That's why you shouldn't go near her. Captain is… a very complicated man."

After saying this, Jason turned his wheelchair and headed back to his room.

Halley's lips parted slightly, still unable to process everything.

By the time he came back to his senses, Jason's figure had long disappeared. His gaze fell, a hint of sadness flickering in his eyes.

Ever since Jason injured his leg, the two brothers rarely spoke anymore.

...

About ten minutes later, the flashy Rolls-Royce finally stopped in front of the villa. My clothes were clinging uncomfortably to my body, soaked and cold, and I had long been shivering uncontrollably. Captian slid his arms under me and lifted me out of the car. I gasped softly in surprise and instinctively wrapped my arms around his neck, my eyes misting over as if covered in a thin layer of fog. "Chief Anderson… please put me down, I can walk by myself." He lowered his gaze, a shadow flickering in his eyes as he looked at me. I sucked in a deep breath, suddenly remembering what he had said earlier that if I wasn't obedient, he would cut off my arms and legs. Terrifying. He truly was a demon. I fell completely silent and buried my face in his chest, though resentment swirled nonstop inside my head.

When the staff saw Captian return, Nanny Alley still wearing her apron hurried toward us respectfully. "Chief Anderson, why are both you and Miss Bailey soaked? Did you accidentally fall into the river?" Captian didn't bother explaining; he simply ordered, "Prepare hot water." Nanny Alley nodded quickly, removed her apron, and rushed upstairs to run the bath.

Still in Captian's arms, I felt heat from his body gradually warming my frozen limbs. The intimacy of it made me burn with embarrassment. I shifted slightly, uncomfortable with how close we were. His brows knitted, his voice low and frightening. "Don't move." Startled, I froze immediately.

He carried me upstairs and stepped directly into a room. Everything inside was pitch black, just like everything else about him. I poked my head up slightly, silently surveying the surroundings, one glance told me this was his bedroom. And earlier, he'd told Nanny Alley to prepare hot water. Was he planning to bathe with me?! Bathing meant taking off clothes, and a man and a woman alone in a bathroom… things could definitely happen.

I swallowed nervously, my face turning pale. Clutching his sleeve, I whispered, "Chief Anderson, I can… I can go back to my room and bathe on my own." He lowered his gaze, eyes gleaming with teasing amusement. "We already got our marriage certificate. What are you shy about?" My eyes widened instantly, my body going stiff. He was right, we were legally married. Between husband and wife, certain things weren't exactly improper… but if I wasn't willing, that would be marital coercion. I pursed my lips, my eyes filled with rejection and dread, my face going even paler as if I were being bullied by a great demon king.

Captian stared at me, and after seeing the emotions in my eyes, he let out a cold scoff. A wave of irritation flashed across his face, his gaze turning icy. "You have ten minutes. Go shower yourself. If you're not out in ten minutes…" His eyes narrowed sharply, turning deep and dangerous. Frightened, I bolted toward the bathroom as if some monster were chasing me. He didn't say what would happen after ten minutes, but I knew nothing good would come from it. I had to be quick, ten minutes was nothing.

I immediately stripped off all my clothes and turned on the shower. Warm water cascaded down in an instant, flowing over every inch of my skin. I let out a breath of relief, closing my eyes as the heat soothed my frozen body.

Captian sat at the edge of the bed, listening to the sound of water running inside. Every splash echoed clearly, each "whoosh" scraping across his nerves. He turned his head, and though the frosted glass obscured my form, he could still vaguely glimpse my small silhouette inside. The moment his eyes lingered, his expression shifted growing darker, hotter until a wave of burning heat surged uncontrollably through him. He narrowed his eyes and pressed a hand firmly against the corner of the bed, as if that was the only way to smother the wildfire rising in him.

Seven minutes. Eight minutes. His gaze drifted toward the bathroom door, he suddenly had the urge to open it and walk in. Nine minutes.

Then... click.

The bathroom door opened. I stepped out, my skin flushed pink from the hot water, glowing faintly. I wore a pastel pink lace nightdress, the one Nanny Alley had prepared.
